Mama Said There Would Be Days Like This....

How about weeks, LOL!! Last Friday I got to stamp a little for the first time in a couple weeks {definitely having the shakes, LOL!!} I have been missing my weekly sketch challenges. blog surfing/commenting, and I have missed a bit but, managed to get a card or two done. This card started out with Jen's SFYTT {yes, I am definitely down to the wire here} and had some Graphic 45 dp that I bought 'cause I liked the colors and they fit the Play Date Cafe Challenge this week for black/white with a splash of green... perfect!!
Recently bought some Unity stamps and haven't had a chance to play with all of them... absolutely loved this sentiment and image {definitely fits my time/place right now and yes, that could have been my "mama" when I was growing up!!}

Inside with sentiment

Jen's sketch... changed the outer rectangle to a wonky one and the circle too, took a little liberty  with the sketch.

PDCC colors

TFL!! {boggers still acting like a two-year old "in my humble opinion"-- actually I don't know but, it's a pita to try to post some days!

Viva La Verve...

Now that things are a "little" quieter on the homefront... I was able to get some stamping done, yeah me!! Worked on the Verve weekly sketches {week 2 and 3} ... check out the challenge on SCS!! Just participate in each sketch, post to the champions thread and you have a chance to win the next Verve release.... yes, prizes to be won!! As well, Verve is having a Memorial Day weekend sale... go grab some of the most fabulous flowers and sentiments!!

This card was made with Diva Maureen's sketch...

Now... I am not normally a "purple" person but, I got this Lilly Bee picket fence dp and then, bought some PTI ribbon {no purple in my stash} and combined with kraft. Made two scallops with Verve's Sweet Scallop Tag die {one in the text dp and one kraft}, cut the kraft to fit the middle, stitched, and added the sentiment in early espresso. Used the blossom nesties and stitched one with kraft {use the next smallest nestie from the panel you will put on your card, lightly outline with a pencil and stitch-ONE stitch at a time, takes a little time but, works perfectly- tip from Jody Morrow}. Sarah Martina Parker has been the MUSE at CASE study this past month and she likes to add paint on her cards. I added a little white paint on the polka dot panel and to the wood butterflies... not the expert at this but, wanted to "spread my wings" and try, yeah I know corny!!

The next layout is from Diva Amy.....

Pre-ordered all the CC line a while back.. thrilled when it came and have hardly used {I think I have been on a dp kick with all the new stuff that has come out.... yes, I SAID I was easily enabled, LOL!! DP is from Cosmo Cricket's Social Club, added some stitching, crochet trim with ribbon intertwined, large prima flowers, Jenni Bowlin button and blueberry divine twine from The Cats Pajamas. The sentiment is from Verve's Swirling Hearts and stamped on Verve's Charming Oval dies, kraft divine twine, and pearls from Pizazzaplenty.

TFL!! Hope you are having a wonderul and glorius holiday weekend {tomorrow is the pool and cooking out on Monday at my house}!! Appreciate when you stop by and leave a comment, makes my day!!

Best Wishes!!

It's been a while since I have posted. Had a family emergency and trip to Indiana. FIL out of hospital now and in rehab, things are better. We even had the experience of the tornado sirens {when you have to seek shelter immediately as a tornado has been spotted} as we were driving, along with the creepiest black skies!! Yes, we were driving and the whole time I was looking out the windows... guess I wanted to see it before we were hit... not that it would help or anything. Two small tornados touched down on the outskirts of town- one on the north side and one on the west side {nothing like the one in Joplin, definitely lucky, although it happened around the same time}.  Went into the grocery store with sunny skies and the "storm" off on the horizon and walked out 20 minutes later to.... a whole different story!!

Anywho, just got back and did manage to make a card for the Waltzingmouse sketch challenge this week. The sketch is from Edna and has lots of circles.

The sketch....

My card....

Cut out circles with an Xacto knife leaving raw edges for distressing and distressed the outer edge. Flourish and sentiment with outline are from WMS Fancy Phrases {love this set} along with quite a few others!! Bo Bunny Gabrielle paper, crinkled ribbon from MemrieMare on Etsy, flower from Wild Orchid krafts, and used foam dots and red sticky dots {buy these from Jody Morrow- texasjodylynn on SCS}. WMS celebrated 2 years this past weekend...BRAVO!!

TFL!! If you stop by, leave a comment, appreciate all the kind words!!

Enjoy Today

Busy weekend again but, I did manage to get a couple cards done. This one is for the Verve weekly sketch challenge on SCS here. Amber gave us the sketch this week. Actually was able to download it and I think post--- cross your fingers for me!! (for some reason I haven't been able to add the pics via blogger even with a .gif file save to my PC-- yes, I know blogger should accept these but, no cooperation lately)

Here's the sketch...

Here's my card....

Started out with these SEI papers and just kept adding patterns, LOL!! Originally planned on having a sentiment in the middle oval but, wasn't happy with it and then this bling just seemed to fit so I added a sentiment from Verve's Amazing Wishes to a nestie that was cut and adhered in the lower right. The notched panels were made with Verve's Classy Label Die. Distressed the large panels and did a lot of sponging with TH Pumice Stone on all panels. Added a couple primas and silver pearls.

TFL!!

Ingredients
Stamps: Verve Amazin Wishes
Paper: SEI Juliette, SU gray and vanilla
Ink: TH pumice stone, SU gray
Accessories: Verve's Classy Label die, Prima flowers, SU ribbon, silver pearls, nesties

Bravo!!

Used this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge for a card for an employee of mine who is graduating with a BS in business this Saturday. She is a single mom with two children and basically raised her children on her own both financially and otherwise!! She has worked full-time while going to school (I have been flexible with her schedule to help, but, this is tough to accomplish and I'm Proud of her!!).

Here's the sketch...

After the card was made... I realized the top left circle was supposed to be larger than the lower right circle... a big ole' OOPS!! WMS recently released some doily stamps that would have been perfect for this sketch but, Beate Johns (you know, THE Beate) also made a card using the stamps from Victorian Frippery that was perfect for these circles. I just acquired some papers, Bo Bunny Gabrielle (there are some luscious papers in this collection... just sayin') and this print seemed perfect to me!!

Stamped the fleur from Victorian Frippery in Versamark onto crumbcake CS. Added some Bo Bunny Gabrielle dp cut out with circle nesties after stitching with kraft thread. Tag was made using WMS Bitty Banners and Fancy Phrases. Added a little crinkled seam binding, button, and linen thread.

TFL!!

Ingredients
Stamps: WMS Victorian Frippery, Bitty Banners, and Fancy Phrases
Paper: crumbcake, white, Bo Bunny Gabrielle

Dream Big!!

First of all.... let me shout out a little belated "Happy Mothers Day"!! I had a lazy wonderful day after a very busy day on Saturday!! Saturday was my DH's b-day and my soon-to-be granddaughter's Dance Recital.....  long day but, lots of fun! My oldest daughter is getting married in November and her "Michael" has two children from his first marriage. Left for recital at before noon and returned home about 8:30 pm after going out to eat.

Enough of that... this card is for MFT's Wednesday sketch challenge #18. SCS is acting a "little funky" tonite and can't get to the sketch to copy. Trust me.... I'm pretty true to it (sentiment at the bottom is extra and bow is vertical instead of horizontal). Played with my new Al la Mode Dream Big... lovin' these!! Colored with copics and layered on a circle nestie and one layer of the Labels die-namic from MFT. Added some PTI ribbon and a star glittered with itsy bitsy rhinestones.

TFL!! Hope you're having a wonderful Monday!! If you leave a comment along the way...want you to know-I love to hear from you!!

Ingredients
Stamps: MFT Al la Mode Dream Big
Paper: MME Stella & Rose Mabel (this whole line is luscious and I'm getting low), SU yellow-not sure which one, white

Thanks to You!!

This week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge "bamboozled" me a little. Love the sketch... it has a "dangly" element which I have never dealt with before but, the right side needed some kind of border. Now, I know this is pretty straightforword but, I have to admit, I have never done a border (edge of card kind of border)using a punch or die or whatever. Amazing... considering all the gorgeous cards I see like this and I certainly have border options, haha!! And, the dangly was new too. Anywho... took me a bit of fidgeting and finally I came up with this.

Used a couple SU border punches, some Memory Box paper, and pearls/felt flowers and white organza ribbon for the dangly. The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps Fancy Phrases and the flags are WMS Bitty Banners. LOVE both of these sets. You can find them here. WMS just had a release too with some new and fabulous sets!!

And here's the sketch...

I know, I'm like a broken record but, whoohoo tomorrow is Friday!! Work has been pretty hectic lately so Friday is definitely TGIF for me these days!!

If you stop by, leave a comment, love to hear from you!!

Let's Mix it Up!!

Phew.... tonite is the last nite {for me anyway, I think you have until noon tomorrow} since I'm a "working girl" to submit for MFT's weekly sketch challenge. Pulled out an Al la Mode "What's Cooking" -these may have become my newest addiction, hehe!! Used Cosmo Cricket Social Club papers along with a new MFT border die-namic that will be released tomorrow nite {received mine early in the VIP pkg.}!!

Added some CC Social Club buttons with divine twine. Colored the image with copics.

Hope your Monday was happy!! Mine was pretty good, even with work, LOL!! Love when you stop by and leave sweet comments. Appreciate all the kind words!!

Being Cute!!

This month at MFT... the guest designer challenge is "blue jeans and bling"!! This adorable PI from My Favorite Things was stamped, colored with copics, and fussy cut. The panel beneath is a Layered Label Die-namic using two patterns from My Minds Eye, Stella & Rose collection, Mabel and the middle layer is blue jeans. Added some scallops, using one of the patterns and blue jeans, created with MFT's large scallop die-namic. The cork and blue jean flower was cut with MFT's posie die-namic. Some stitching and layering- along with a little bling finished it off.

TFL!! Hope you're having a wonderful and relaxing Sunday afternoon. Appreciate when you stop by and leave a coment. Makes my day!!
