Sent With Love

Squeaking in the monthly sketch from The Crafts Meow!! It was rainy here in Charlotte over the WE so... no boating, which gave me a little more time to stamp!!

Used TCM Sent With Love. Papers are from Authentique's Lively. Added lace {Websters Pages} and crochet trim. Sentiment on a banner and a rolled rose with brad to finish off.

The sketch...

Good Friday Afternoon!!

If you came by to visit, I'm glad you did. Quick note- I changed my blog address:
http://vickiezimmer.blogspot.com/ Thought I could connect to automatically forward from old address but, it is not working or I am not an IT guru!!

Apologize for any inconvenience!

Freckles... ISSC35

It's Friday morn' and time for another I Spy sketch!! Y'all created fabulous cards last week.... keep 'em coming!! This is the sketch challenge where we look for YOUR cards for Inspiration!! ISSC25 is based on this card by  Audrie Magno-Gordon (girlgeek101 @ SCS).

Audrie's card is wonderful but, I have to say I was a bit stumped by the sketch at first {I don't usually look at the card before I make mine}.

My card is a mirror image of the sketch. I have had this adorable MFT PI, aptably named Freckles, for a bit and decided it was time to ink it up.... my youngest has lots of freckles....she's not so young anymore but, she loved the sentiment when I showed her - she's "grown into" them!! She requested a B-Day card using this set! Stamped the image in SU basic gray, colored a bit with copics, paper pieced the dress and punched out with a SU circle punch. Stitched a bit in the upper left and lower right corners and added the seam binding, button, twine combo for a little "sumthin".  This is also for this week's Ribbon Carousel Challenge to use buttons and twine- RCC72. Corinna has a sale going on right now while she's on vaca and there are goodies to be had!!

Here's the sketch...

So.....have fun and get to Stampin!! Make a card using the sketch- and link it up.... we'd LOVE to see what you create!! Make sure and stop by the blog to see what the other Special Agents created-serious creativity and inspiration!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the sweet comments!

CASE study Week 4 with Torico!!

Start each day with a grateful heart.... LOVE this sentiment!! This is my last week as a Guest at CASE study....Thanks much Chupa... enjoyed playing!!

This month Torico is the MUSE... that girl can do clean/cute/CAS and clean/elegant/CAS!!!

Gorgeous!!

Here's my card...

I purchased PTI's Lovely Layers and dies {Jean Martin and Debby Hughes enabled me, twisted my arm... I tell ya'!} and did a bold card!! Wanted to use these colors on black with white so.... the images were stamped a little off and die cut so the white would blend with the sentiment and pearls. Popped several layers for dimension. Had to photo with a black background as the nestie label didn't show up with white.

Actually made another card using a TSG stamp {only have two} that was illustrated by Torico and I fell in love with.

This is a fabulous set!! I was practicing my coloring a bit.
Joining me this month as a CASE study guest is Anja at scrappietoo (whoo hoo-waving hi!) and make sure and stop by the CASE study blog to see all the DT's fabulous creations.... and then, join in!!

Spread a Little Happiness-WMS!!

Here's my card for this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! Designed by The Claire Brennan {Head Moustress}.

Inked up the jar from Candy Jar Xmas Fillers and added a topper and sentiments from Jar Fillers-Jam Packed. Stamped a pattern from Heirloom Patterns in SU So Saffron onto white. Added Ribbon Carousel seam binding with a bow/button/twine combo. Used cheesecloth for the upper right corner {instead of a tag} and a little in the lower left. Monika Davis at MAD Stamper has been using cheesecloth... HAD to have some and try it out!!! Purchased mine on Ebay and just finally made a card I thought it would work with!! I realize I am in love with these nesties... will change it up soon...promise!!

Wonderful sketch

Now.... have you ever made a card you were happy with... but, hadn't finished.... tooooo much time to think if you wanted to add a little "sumthin sumthin"... and then, you did... wished you hadn't...and don't have enough of that perfect paper to start again?? Grrrr.....

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate when you stop by and all the kind words!!

Be Yourself!!-- CR84FN63

Happy Monday... my week started off well after, a couple weeks of craziness!! Played in the CR84FN color challenge... denim, brown, and tan. Well, it's been a while since I used denim on a card so..... I did and this card also uses the Verve weekly sketch... week 4 by Janelle.

Used some denim for the top horizontal layer with lace from Websters Pages stitched onto the denim layer, added a Verve Banner die stamped with the chevron pattern from Borderline and adhered on top of a Cherry Lynn die. Sentiment is from Verve's Lean On Me and was "popped" on top. Denim and lace {my girls would LOVE it... I only should've added pearls or bling, LOL!!}

Here's the colors and sketch....

hi friend!!

Hope you're having a peaceful Sunday!! I have had a chance to do a little stamping this weekend. Here's a clean and graphic card for this weeks Colorthrowdown using Teresa's week 3 sketch from Verve!

Stamped a Verve banner die in bermuda bay and added dots with Verve's Bountiful Backgrounds using Versamark. Have been wanting to play with those arrows too... stamped images from Brighter Days onto certainly celery and berumuda bay in versamark and die cut with Verve's arrow die. Background is embossed with a TH folder. Sentiment is from Verve's Lean On Me. Popped several layers, stitched the circle, and added a couple buttons with twine bow. Here's the Verve link.... Julee has lots of new goodies from last months' release.

Crossing my fingers this week will be a "quiet one" on the home front and work. Right now.... DH had surgery on his right shoulder but, the left one has a problem going on. DD had a little boat accident in July and hurt her ankle... it's on the "fritz" too and DD had a friend that stays with us who was kicked by a donkey yesterday and wondering about fractures!! Geesh.....

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words!!

Boo... I Spy!!

It's Friday morn' and time for another I Spy sketch!! Y'all created fabulous cards last week.... keep 'em coming!! This is the sketch challenge where we look for YOUR cards for Inspiration!! ISSC34 was based on this card by Joanne Basile (basilefamily @ SCS). Some fun scrappiness!!

I am still playing with some MME papers... fabulous Halloween patterns. The image/sentiment is from Verve's BooTo You. Those are adorable ghosts!! Had a heck of a time trying to photo this- bg is sooooo dark- I'm tired-it's been a long week- the camera/lights/PSE won!!

Here's the sketch...

Fabulous sketch!! So.....have fun and get to Stampin!! Make a card using the sketch- and link it up.... we'd LOVE to see what you create!! Make sure and stop by the blog to see what the other Special Agents created-serious creativity and inspiration!!

CASE study- Week 3 with Torico!!

Week 3 guesting at CASE study!! This month Torico is the MUSE...

eeks... how adorable are those owls!!!

Here's mine...

I went with the three images, bright colors, and sentiment flag/button combo. Those lil' monsters are a digi that Torico created and I purchased at birdiebrown on etsy. Torico is an illustrator for There She Goes stamps {owls can be purchased there} and has an etsy shop... birdiebrown... with a bunch of adorable images!!

As Murphy would have it {Murphy's law... remember that??} I have had a printer on the blink and when I thought I had it working again, I purchased a couple of digi images from Torico's etsy shop. Well, that printer was not exactly up to par so I took cardstock to work and printed there. I grabbed some white and wasn't thinking so it was SU {perfectly good stuff} and not XPress It blending cardstock....copic coloring didn't turn out too bad considering.

homespun hugs!!

Calling this a "cutie patootie" quickie card....it's been one of those days!! Used the WMS sketch challenge - this week's sketch was created by Ms. Jennifer Holmes and it's a wonderful one...

Bought the CC Tea For Two papers a while ago {honestly I'm a paper hoarder} and had a couple patterns laid out as I loved the colors together and they felt "homey" so I grabbed WMS Sewing Box Hugs. Did some punching, die cutting, and popping up of layers. Added a navy seam binding bow {ribboncarousel} and a little button.

Jennifer's sketch....

You have until Friday at noon to participate in the sketch challenge and there's a random drawing for a Waltzingmouse Stamp... just sayin'!!

eta: just added this card to the WMS sketch challenge and didn't remember that I linked my Blog Party card... didn't think it was my "final answer".... what show am I thinking of...ya' know... "Is that your final answer?" I'm a bit bumfuzzled this week!

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words!!

WMS Blog Party!!

It's the 17th and that means it's time for a WMS Blog Party!! This month it's all about fall!!

A couple weeks ago, I made a card using a windowpane {no die, freehand} ... well, I made a template and started working on this card....

I used the template to sponge inside the squares with SU pumpkin pie and mustard. Added the sentiment and trees from WMS Teeny Trees, ribbon, jute, and "torn" ground. Background woodgrain is from WMS Way Out West stamped hapharzdly.
Since I am having a "crazy busy" week and since I "lucked out" ... I am using this for  this week's WMS sketch challenge {unless I get a chance to do another... we'll see}

Sketch by Ms. Jennifer Holmes and it's a wonderful one...

Yummy- ISSC33

It's Friday morn' and time for another I Spy sketch!! Y'all created fabulous cards last week.... keep 'em coming!! This is the sketch challenge where we look for YOUR cards for Inspiration!! ISSC33 challenge is Cindy Elam (Cards4Ever @ SCS) and is based on this card. I took a little liberty but, the sketch is still there!

This one is pretty straightforward... have been doing some more simpler cards... not exactly CAS as I still love to add layers!! I stamped Waltzingmouse Stamps Big Strawberry on white, fussy cut, and popped on top of patterned paper layers from MME's Ms. Caroline Dilly Dally. Added a sentiment from the same set and a few little brads in the corner.

Here's the sketch...

So.....have fun and get to Stampin!! Make a card using the sketch- and link it up.... we'd LOVE to see what you create!! Make sure and stop by the blog to see what the other Special Agents created-serious creativity and inspiration!!

CASE study Guest With Torico!!

Week 2 guesting at CASE study!! This month Torico is the MUSE... eeks... this card will make you want to go out and bring monkeys home!!!

Here's my card...

I love the negative die cut...and I adore banners so... stamped some patterned papers from MME papers with WMS Bitty Banners, added trim that I dyed with SU Cherry Cobbler ink {big time messy inky fingers!}- a little natural jute twine, stitching, and placement of the sentiment from WMS Compact Sentiments with Torico's general layout.
Last week I was a little short on time and it was a quick post...Joining me this month as a CASE study guest is Anja at scrappietoo (whoo hoo-waving hi!). As well, Torico is an illustrator for There She Goes stamps and has an etsy shop... birdiebrown... with a bunch of adorable images!!

My photo is a little on the darker side... tried something new in PSE...I use Ott lights... no time for natural light pics and have always edited in PSE on the lighter side...opinions??

Thanks for stopping by!!

Blessings- WMSC

Happy Wednesday!! This week the sketch at Waltzingmouse was created by Anya Schrier... fun!! So many possibilities!! I may have veered a titch but, I was dying to ink up this WMS that I acquired a while ago....

This card went through a couple evolutions, LOL!! When I make a card I like to lay everything out... think... play... etc. My original idea was just not working and then, I stamped the large image from Festive Foliage (marker ink to stamp- to get the different colors) as a background and loved it... the detail in Claire's stamps are fabulous!! So... I stamped some extra pinecones in two different browns, fussy cut, added a seam binding bow (ribbon carousel) and that became my collage on the right. Sentiment is from WMS Say it Loud Holidays stamped in early espresso and fussy cut and popped on top.  The oval panel was stamped with the polka dot image from Offbeat Backgrounds and heat embossed with clear.

Here's Anya's sketch...

Just think tomorrow's Thursday and then, comes Friday... WE!!! Y'all are probably thinking I hate my job by now (always looking to the WE) but, I really don't... just love to play!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate when you do and love all the sweet comments!

HELLO Sunshine!!- ISSC32

It's Friday morn' and time for another I Spy sketch!! Y'all created fabulous cards last week.... keep 'em coming!! This is the sketch challenge where we look for YOUR cards for Inspiration!!ISSC32 is from Marie-Alice (ladybug91743 @ SCS) and is based on this card. Adorable and such a unique layout!! Sometimes the I Spy Sketches are more challenging than others... but, dang that's half the fun to me- just to see if I can do it!!

Made a windowpane and adhered some dp behind. Lots of bright colors and Verve's Joyful Blooms worked! Blooms were die cut with Verve's Joyful Blooms die, curled the ends, and popped some up on foam. Sentiment was stamped on a MFT flag and tucked into the windowpane and popped up on the end for some dimension.  the sentiment and blooms from Verve's Joyful Blooms . Added a seam binding ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel.... yes, I have a lot of Corinna's seam binding ;))

Here's the sketch..

So.....have fun and get to Stampin!! Make a card using the sketch- and link it up.... we'd LOVE to see what you create!! Make sure and stop by the blog to see what the other Special Agents created-serious creativity and inspiration!!

CASE study....Whoop-de-doo!!

Yep, I was thrilled when Chupa sent me an e-mail and asked if I would like to be a "guest" at CASE study this month... heck yes!! This month Torico is the MUSE... wow... CAS with an impact!! Well, I was bit nervous playing with The Chupa and her fabulous DT so being the "Nervous Nellie" I didn't venture far from home... and I needed a baby card!!

Torico's card...

Mine....

I went with the layout, image, and stitching. Stamped that adorable giraffe from Verve's To The Moon set and layered onto a MFT doily die. Stars randomly stamped from the same set and sentiment in early espresso. Added some stitching and seam binding from the Ribbon Carousel. Papers are MME Ms. Caroline.

ETA: I was in such a hurry last nite to get posted, I missed a couple things!! Joining me this month as a CASE study guest is Anja at scrappietoo (whoo hoo-waving hi!) and... Torico not only makes fabulous cards but, is an illustrator for There She Goes stamps. What I didn't know and learned today is that Torico also has an etsy shop where she sells some of her digital images... ohh they're adorable!!

Tomorrow's friday and another WE!!

WMS All Hallow's Eve!!

LOVE Halloween and Waltzingmouse Stamps makes some fabulous Halloween stamps!! It's getting to be fall and time to get those babies out! So, for the WMS sketch this week...

Stamped the tree from Asian Gardens {love how this worked with the owl} owl from Halloween Party in graphite black and added the Sentiment from Cicely at Halloween and stars from Teeny Trees. Used Authentique papers from last year... {still love these} with a black border at the top and ruffled black lace at the bottom. Striped twill, black seam binding {ribbon carousel}, and a corduroy button from SU.

The sketch by Ms. Lynn...

Happy Hump Day!! I've gotten a little laid back with the long weekend and days were moving slow and.... then, back to work and living with the DNC in Charlotte!! Work about six blocks from the arena and have had to change my driving route to make sure I don't have to deal with traffic... has worked so far but, I'm doubling back to get there. My dad always looked at a map and the straightest/quickest route was the goal. My daughter went kayaking in the mountains this past Saturday and did GPS on the iPhone the whole way... DH and I were talking about the non-GPS days.... ya' know reading a map {'kay don't comment!}

Enough showing my age....

This list was in the paper today to take home from the south for all the tourists here for the DNC {some of these took me a while}
Duke's mayo.... I am totally converted and so is my Midwestern brother-take it home to him when I go
Grits.... converted again
Texas Pete Tabasco.... in certain dishes-family loves and I do too!
Pimento Cheese spread... if you get the right stuff, wonderful
Cheer Wine... cherry cola, they have a fabulous commercial

There were more- for another day, LOL, if you've lasted this long!!

Love when you stop by and appreciate all the sweet comments!

CASE study Anni-VERVE-sary redo!!

'Kay this is actually the last week of the CASE study Anniversary challenges {I was a little confused last week, LOL!} The challenge this week is to CASE yourself... well, I made this card for one of the Anni-VERVE-sary challenges and really didn't like it! The challenge was a toughie for me and still is!! So, I decided to have "another go" at it and see if I could do better....

New card...

Used the same set, different sentiment, colors {switched to ivory though} added a little silver as previously required! Added some clear embossed dots from Verve's Bountiful Backgrounds. Seam binding is from the Ribbon Carousel.

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words!!

Hope you had a great Labor Day weekend! Mine was quiet and relaxing!! And... I did get a little stamping in!!
