WMS Pajama Party- Tie a Knot In It

Well, I am off visiting family/looking at a roof for the farmhouse in Indiana etc. etc.  but, Clare posted early (well, she posted early the first time too) AND I was paying attention- I try to pay attention but, sometimes life gets in the way!!

Ohhh... and blogger's acting up when I am trying to schedule/post several things.

This card is for the knotty challenge- using the new WMS Tying the Knot set! Perfect for weddings but, I was thinking of my sis when I made this card- her job is a little "dicey" right now!

WMS Pajama Party- Colour Story!

I'm scrambling to get everything posted or at least started in one evening!! Don't have PSE at my Mom/Dad's house!! Now, it's time for the Colour Story and the inspiration pic is a rustic seafaring view but, I  wanted to play with the new Two Step Sprig images and Big Day sentiments.

Stamped the flowers in shades of red and blue, leaves in two colors of gray, and sentiment in black. Added a little bling for good measure.

WMS Pajama Party- Golden Oldies!!

You may not believe this but, the sentiment on this card just fits my life right now! Made this card for the WMS Pajama Party Golden Oldies challenge.

Yep- I made a bunch of cards in a short period of time- set up the blog posts- worked- and, the pooch was diagnosed with diabetes. Insulin shots/limited food (did you know there was such a thing as buying prescription dog food- means the vet has to write a script to buy it- Lordy!!) And my youngest came up with an ear infection the day before Bill and I leave to go to IN (she's staying and watching the house.)

This challenge was to pull out your first ever WMS - I became hooked (yes, Clare I used the word "hooked"- 'cause it's hard to stop once you see all the other lovely sets!) with the Spellbinder compatible stamps and this set was in my first order.

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

Aren't they gorgeous!!

I'm stretching summer here!! Love fall but, after that comes winter.... yuk!!

Stamped a colorful background using Verve's Surely Goodness (flowers) and Leaves (Sunny Days) and the sentiment is from Verve's Words of Wisdom. Dontcha' love when you can use more than one set on a card-- mix-n-match!! Used Amber's Week 1 sketch.

Clearly Besotted Stamps-- Hello Hello Hey There!!

Third post for the day. Just realized that as I was writing this post. I did say I had some time to stamp this WE! Wanted to play in the current Clearly Besotted Stamps challenge. And used a stamp/die set I have had for a while.

Little different from my norm....I'm learning/trying this graphic thing, LOL!!

Here's the gorgeous colors...

My card....

Sooo... I stamped the chevrons on an angle onto basic gray CS. Die cut speech bubbles using CBS dies in the different colors from the inspiration pic- stamped with the outline images from the coordinating stamp set- You Said It- in a wonky way (that was on purpose) and then stamped the sentiments. Tried stamping the sentiments with the different colors "more tight" but, they weren't showing up- maybe I should've clear heat embossed on the white in order to stamp the sentiments closer--- learning here, LOL!

CTD256 --- Thinking of You!!

Happy Wednesday morn' folks!! Happy Hump Day!! It's time for a new set of colors at the Color Throwdown and..... here they are...

These colors made me think flowers... classic... a little elegant....

So I stamped a Serendipity Orchid image on watercolor paper and used SU inks. Added some glitter and rhinestones. The butterfly was stamped twice- one fussy cut and popped on top.

Here's a side view--- I used my Xacto knife to cut the edges of some of the orchids- shows the colored layered underneath. Just a fun little twist!

SSCB - Polka Dots and/or Gingham!!

First post of the day!! Welcome, Welcome to the next installment of the Serendipity Stamps Blog Challenge. It's polka dots and/or gingham!

Love this image- Three Dresses... a bit of a Victorian feel-- although I have to tell ya' I grew up with hanging the wash on the line (weather permitting) and then, throwing in the dryer to fluff. Anyone with me on this one??? Not to mention Mom getting her hair done once a week and standing behind a chair to "rat" it in between... the bouffant days, LOL!!

I did some paper piecing (polka dots for the middle dress) and added the gingham with ribbon! Just had to do both with this image.

In

On the inside I stamped the image again and overstamped the sentiment. Now. you know why I was reminiscing a little!!

Hope you find time to join us, and...

CTD255 -hey there Sweetie!!

Happy Wednesday morning!! It's time for a new color story at the Color Throwdown. This week Broni picked our colors and they are bright and gorgeous!!

Here's my card...

All of those bright colors made me think of celebrations and I had these WPlus9 stamps/dies that were NBUS (as Darnell would say- never been used schtuff) - it was time to get them inky. The sets are called "Sweets and Treats" and "Sweets and Treats Fillers" along with coordinating dies. You can make just about any cupcake you would like and ice cream too!!

enjoy the little things- Verve Diva Dare and week 2 sketch!!

Had a little time to stamp last night- work has been crazy busy!! Had fun using Moe's sketch to create a card for the Verve Diva Dare. (Ssshh...I'm even early this month!!) This month it's all about Andrea and Chirstyne-- lots of layers and either a flower cluster or something sweet.

Lots of layers (to me) means an opportunity to use some patterned paper... and... these girls like patterned paper too!! Sentiment is from Verve's Let it Be and the papers are Glitz Cashmere Dame.

Here's the sketch...

Tonite I'm hoping to get a little stamping in... along with making a couple of salads (family requested) for a cookout tomorrow after hanging at the lake. Hope your WE is going well!! I haven't been able to visit much this week--oh to one day be able to retire!!

Woot Woot- Color Throwdown!!

Another Happy Wednesday morn'!! I've been keeping a secret-- WOOT WOOT!! Exciting News!! Today is the first day for me as a DT member for THE Color Throwdown!! Yes, I'm thrilled I tell ya!! Joining me is the fabulous Melody Rupple from A Paper Melody {we're newbies together}!!

And, here's the fabulous colors that Bar chose for use this week...

Aren't those colors wonderful and the beach in the background.... makes me happy!!

Here's my card...

I haven't watercolored any images in forever so, when I saw Bar's colors and the jars- I decided I wanted to use this Flourishes image and practice a little watercoloring. Stamped the image in crumbcake and heat embossed with clear. Colored the images with and then shaded with SU pastel chalk. Finally purchased Lil Inkers stitched rectangles {yeah, I know, I'm probably one of the few who just got these}. Sentiment is from Verve's Wordy Birds.

Happy Wednesday... not only is it "Hump Day" but, it's the next installment in the Serendipity Stamps Challenge!!

AND--- a great BIG WELCOME to Julie Warner from TheWriteStuff- the newest DT member!!

This week it's all about butterflies...

I have had these butterfly dies in my stash... waiting on this challenge to use them. Isn't that overlay die fabulous... gorgeous!! I die cut the background butterfly and then spritzed with water. Dropped SU Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette ink onto the spritzed die... let it "roll around" and then dry. Added the overlay. The layers are Spellbinders Marvelous Squares. Sentiment is from Serendipity.

Hope you find time to join us, and...

fly high- WMS Bedtime Story!!

I missed a lot of the WMS Pajama party but, there is one last challenge and it's a sketch!! Have to say I still get up on Saturday morn' and think about checking out the sketches/cards and then, I remember! Claire is changing things this year---shakin' it up and it's all good!
Even though I wasn't able to participate in all of the challenges... I did peek at everyone's cards, and the things that left an impression were.... feathers, crackle, and the reverse dots from WMS Ginghan & Co.-- so I incorporated all of these things into my card-- using the sketch but, flipping it-took a little liberty!

Eeeks... that is so much white space for me, LOL!!

Background was stamped with the reverse dots from Gingham & Co. in SU sSmmer Sun. Feathers from Fine Feathers stamped with versamark on vellum (light blue, light yellow, and white) and heat embossed with white and fussy cut (I have a silhouette- don't ask!) Sentiment is from WMS Funky Feathers stamped in Bermuda Bay. The other purchase a while back was gelattos- just like SU watercolor crayons except, the green is oh so shiny. Heat embossed with white using WMS Mini Crackle Background. Enlarge so you can see the detail on the crackle background.... LOVE!

Here's the sketch...

Hope you're having a great Saturday-- we canned some tomatoes- cleaned a little- did laundry. Tomorrow is a boat cruising day!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!
