Color Throwdown #416

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by Lisa- we're playing with cranberry, dark teal, peach, and kraft!!

How wonderful is this fall flower pic and those barrels.... perfect!!

So this week I took the opportunity to go fall using some stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink. The sentiment is from Verve's latest release. Added a seam binding bow- buttons- and twine to finish it off.

Some inspiration...

Verve Stamps - October Release Retrospective Blog Hop!!

Welcome to Verve's October Release Retrospective Blog Hop!  Today the Verve Divas and Guest Divas are back with another dose of inspiration using the brand new release! All of our new products are available to order in the Verve shop and on sale through the end of October! Plus, we've got a sweet hop prize in store!

Another chance to take a look at all of Verve's new goodies!! I have a couple cards for you today!!

For my first card I played with Angel Voices and created a background by stamping one of the smaller angels in memento tuxedo black onto PTI select white card stock. Next I colored the angels with copics and stamped the small "crisscross" heart in red. To fill in the spaces between angels, I stamped the small star in memento tuxedo black. That sweet sentiment is from the same set- love the different fonts!! To finish it off, I added a few sequins and white beads.

This card uses Autumns Blessings stamps and Autumns Thanks dies. I'm calling this my "color blocking" card. The base was cut and distressed with a distressing tool. I stamped the dot image from Better Together in the upper left and lower right for a little interest. Next I die cut this sweet wreath twice and colored with copics. One wreath was adhered directly to a white circle - I added foam dots to the second wreath and adhered on top for some dimension. Sentiment was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed in white. Last- a little Verve seam binding to finish it off.

One more ditty- I love to make tags but, don't always think of doing that...these ended up being gift card holders.... here's some sweet/simple gift card holders using Angel Voices...

The polka dot background on these kraft glassine bags uses Verve's Bountiful Backgrounds (sorry it's retired). Added some paint splatters and made the banners using Verve's Banner Bundle die set. Below you can see how nicely a gift card fits. I'm thinking some young one will think they're hearing Angel Voices when they get their gift card :-)

All right enough of me... it's time for some good news...

Want to win some shiny new Verve? Julee will be picking a random comment winner on one of the hop spots below to win a $40 gift voucher to Verve! Color Throwdown #415- Merry Christmas!!

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by Jodi- we're playing with cream, red, brown, and green!!

Alrighty then.... love that inspiration pic and these colors.... I looked and wrote down the colors...green.... soooo... my green came out a little darker :-)

I went with another Christmas card using these sweet deer from the Merry Everything stamp set and die cut mountains from MFT's recent release. Believe it or not (I have had tendonitis in my dominant hand) I had a moment when the NSAIDs were working and was able to quickly color these deer with copics. Added some of the mountains in the background. Sentiment is also from the Merry Everything stamp set.

Some inspiration...

Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog and Hop- Anything Goes!!

Good, Good Morning welcome to the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog Hop!!

Love seeing what you make with your Serendipity Stamps and Dies. The challenge begins on the first of the month with a central theme. The design team provides samples for inspiration at the beginning, and then again at the half way point of the challenge, but you get a whole month to join us! At the half way point we'll be showing another round of samples as well as celebrating with a monthly blog hop - showing you the latest products and offering another chance for you to win some goodies from Serendipity Stamps

Now we're at the halfway point!!

The rules are simple... play along using at least one Serendipity Stamps image on your submission and link it below. You don't have to have a blog to play along - you can link your designs to any on line gallery.

This month it is all about Anything Goes- dontcha' just love those :-)

I made a couple cards for today.... first up is a little Halloween fun!!

This sweet image Mr. Bones was stamped onto PTI select white cardstock and colored with copics- what about that splotchy shirt :-) Diecut that panel and another one with spellbinders wonky rectangles and layered them up. Added a Boo sentiment with the Serendipity's Boo diecut.

Have a Wicked Day is the sentiment on the inside along with a few "splotches" from Serednipity's Ink Splash stamp.

Next up is a fun winter card using Serendipity's Snowflake Reverse die. I used the snowflakes (rather than the reverse part of the die). First I heat embossed a random background with Stampendous Shabby Blue embossing enamel. Then I sponged ink on several of the white snowflakes and also die cut some blue snowflakes. These were added randomly to my panel. The Wish sentiment was diecut several times and layered for dimension. Added some sequins to finish it off.

Here's a little close up... you can see the sweet detail on these snowflakes!!

That's if for me today....

The 50% off stamp of the month is the Pumpkin Border...

Color Throwdown #414

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by Broni- we're playing with gray, aqua, and lime green!!

LOVE those modern leaves- can think of so many sets that would be perfect!!

And, I am still playing with some "new to me" stamps. Yes, I have had these for a while and just getting inky!!. The images/sentiment are from Altenew's Watercolor Wonder and sentiment from Painted Greetings. I have a tendency to go CAS when I use their stamps. Did a little masking for the flowers and gray leaves. Added the sentiment and a couple layers popped up with foam- a simple twine bow to finish.

Some inspiration...

Day 3- Verve release

Welcome back to Day 4 of our October Spotlight Hops!  The Verve Divas and special guests are back for another day of spotlighting our new release! Everything previewed this week is available to order in the Verve shop.

Today we're sharing our first projects featuring the Autumn Blessings stamp set and coordinating Autumn Thanks Die Set.

Okay- I have two cards (again) for you today and honestly haven't even touched all the images in this set (as you will soon see!)

My first card (well, actually both) use this beautiful leaf wreath!! Wreaths and fall-- "match made in heaven"!! This card is pretty straight forward- stamped two of the wreaths with fall ink colors and die cut with the coordinating dies. These were layered on an embossed and patterned paper panel. Don't you love that "thanks" die- it was die cut three times, layered, and popped up with micro pop dots for added dimension. A Verve seam binding bow finishes it off.

My second card is a bit different... but,  a little fun all the same. I stamped the same leaf wreath several times and then used a water brush to "mix" the color in the center of each wreath. Two of the wreaths were die cut with the coordinating dies and popped up off-center over the main panel. Added a few sequins to the centers, a sentiment from the set stamped onto a Verve Banner from the Banner Bundle die set.

"Kay... the good news :-)

Color Throwdown # 413!!

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by Broni- we're playing with navy blue, orange. kraft and white!!

LOVIN this color combo... then again, I can "do" orange!!

And, I am still playing with some "new to me" stamps. Yes, I have had these for a while and just getting inky!!. The images/sentiment are from Altenew's Floral Shadow. I have a tendency to go CAS when I use their stamps.Stamped some leaves- second generation along the left border with kraft and then overstamped the floral images in orange and kraft. Framed the panel in navy as well as stamping this fun sentiment in navy also. Flicked a little navy ink around and added a couple enamel dots.

Some inspiration...

Day 2- Verve release

Welcome back to Day 3 of our October Spotlight Hops!  The Verve Divas and special guests are back for another day of spotlighting our new release! Everything previewed this week is available to order in the Verve shop.

Today we're sharing our first projects featuring the Everything Nice stamp set and coordinating Pumpkin Spice Die Set.

Totally tickled pink with the sets julee is releasing this month!! So much fun and so many ideas!!

I have a couple cards for you today using some traditional fall colors!!

First up I die cut several circles from Verve's Springtime Stitches and layered randomly on my white card stock base and then, stamped this fun sentiment from Everything Nice. Next, I stamped three mugs (have always been a straight coffee drinker with a little half-n-half but, maybe I need to try a pumpkin spice latter?) I colored the cups/mugs with copics and added some glitter for the whipping on top.

This card is a traditional take using the pumpkins and a bit of layering and distressing. Sentiment is from Autumn Blessings along with those leaves that were stamped in versamark and heat embossed with clear along the top of the cream panel. The seam binding is Verve too.

Happy Fall y'all!!

Day 1- Verve release

Welcome back to Day 2 of our October Spotlight Hops!  The Verve Divas and special guests are back for another day of spotlighting our new release! Everything previewed this week is available to order in the Verve shop.

Today we're sharing our first projects featuring the Angel Voices stamp set and coordinating Angelic Die Set.

Oh these angles are just the sweetest!! My first card is a shaker... hadn't made one in a while and thought a few Verve sequins from the Pastel Sequin mix and angels in soft colors would go well together :-) The angles were stamped with Versamark Onyx black, die cut with Verve's Angelic die set, colored with copics and adhered on top of my oval shaker. Used foam dots for a little dimension. Don't you love that fabulous sentiment!!

So for my second card I played a little with my Gansai Tambi watercolors. First I watercolored the background and then added some stars with a stencil and modeling paste.  Die cut the angels and heat embossed with white. Then I just randomly watercolored the angels. The sentiment is wonderful.... are you singing? I have been for a few days :-)
