Happy Belated Holiday and Many Blessings!!

Had a wonderful Holiday... my dad came home from the hospital after some emergency surgery last Wednesday!!!! We were blessed that although, his gallbladder was "dead" he was able to have laparascopic surgery--much easier on the body than an "open abdominal" sugery and with a little pneumonia on top -so much easier for the coughing and deep breathing!! He's still fighing the infection and moving slower than most people who have laparascopic surgery but, doing well!!

Last weekend I was playing with some new Verve stamps and Websters Pages papers. This card is for the weekly Verve sketch challenges on SCS- Amber is taking a break and the other Divas are providing the sketchs. This is Sankiri's. The theme is winter holidays/decor... now, when you see the colors you may wonder what I was thinking... well, I wasn't at the time, hehehe!! Just playing with new stuff...I'm sure you have done that before, KWIM!! BUT- I think that the holidays are a time for us to reflect on our "Many Blessings"!! I have much to be thankful for myself- family, friends, health, and I wish "Many Blessings" on everyone!!

Happy Holidays!!

Honestly... I was blessed with something else... SNOW on Christmas!! This is the first time we have had snow on Christmas day since 1947... can you believe it??? Grew up in the Midwest and not a snow person for everyday life but, recently commented that I Loved it on Christmas... you think someone knew and helped me out????

TFL!! Appreciate when you stop by and leave comments... makes my day!!

Where there is Love there is Life!!

Quick post as things are busy around here. Sketch is from Verve's weekly challenges on SCS...messed up a little... the theme is Christmas. Well, I was playing with some Websters Pages paper and Text Objects from the new Verve release and "totally spaced" the Chrismas theme. Was going to find a Christopher Radkoff bird ornament {oriole} or something similar but, alas no time!! Text Objects has image sentiments and background sentiments to coordinate--absolutely wonderful!!

Still working on a Christmas and my dad is in the hospital in Indiana {I live in NC}... little stressful and I'm a nurse so naturally I want to be there and know what is going on. Good thing life is different from when I was younger... you know long distance free calling... okay, maybe I'm showing my age!! The surgeon is trying to wait to do surgery but, I don't think it's going to happen. Prayers for my dad, he is a wonderful person!!

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas...

everywhere I go....!!!! Finally getting some things done... no decorations as the construction folks are coming my way {due to those rascals!!} but, I have had fun with some Xmas shopping - getting something that someone wants just by remembering a comment made- makes me feel wonderful!! We had some snow yesterday- one of those with beautiful large snowflakes--loved it!! This card is for The Cats Pajamas weekly sketch challenge, you can check it out here !! The challenge is to use any TCP Holiday Stamp. These penguins are absolutely adorable climbing all over the fireplace/mantle!!

Added crystal effects to the penquins and glitter to hats/stockings/bow. Did a little paper piecing for the rug in front of the fireplace and added some lines to the top of the mantle!!

A little Xmas spirit going on here or what??? Hope you are enjoying the holidays!!

Just Because!!

Just Because... I wanted to make this card this way!!?? Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge this week is old olive, certainly celery, chocolate chip, real red, and whisper white. Inspiration pic was Xmassy but, I really wanted to use these Waltzingmouse stamps that coordinate with nestabilites and as the card progressed- this is the Verve sentment I used from one of my fav sets Great Friend. Tried different embossing folders on the red panel but, didn't like anything so I left it plain. Used the MFT large scallop die-namic on some twill and added a chocolate chip ribbon that was folded and sewn. Old Olive panel is embossed with a Quikkutz embossing folder that I absolutely adore!! Haven't perfected the twill and dies.... Used Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch.

The sketch and colors...

TFL!!

Hope you are having wonderful holidays!! After my "glitch" with the thieves- we are starting to get straightened out-- have caught up with Xmas with on-line shopping {totally addicted but, I was before- ask my DH about the deliveries-no, don't ask!! LOL!!} and did some shopping yesterday with my youngest daughter!! She turned "18" yesterday and wanted to spend the day with her mom??? Went for haircuts, lunch, and shopping!! She gave me a "high five" that it was a wonderful day-- made my heart sing!!

Snow Day!!

I grew up in the Midwest but, moved to the South many years ago... yes, to get away from the cold and snow!! No snow here but, cold right now {for us anway}... my sis tells me I'm being a little wimpy!! Made a card for the MFT weekly stamp club challenge which was Winter Wonderland. I confess, when I go home for Xmas and it snows while I'm there, I LOVE it!! Just don't want to deal with it on a daily basis... maybe that's where the "wimpy" comes in??? This Pure Innocence stamp set from MFT reminds of those "snow days"... you know, when you send the kids out several times and they go through all the mittens, hats, pants on hand and you set them out over the heater/in front of the fire to warm up/thaw out so they can go out again!!

Not normally a purple person but, I have been able to work with this Mitten Weather dp by Cosmo Cricket!! Added glitter to the hat, snowballs, and scarf fringes--IRL it's sparkly!! Hope you are enjoying the holidays and if you have snow are able to "play a little" in it!!
