Serendipity Stamps Blog Hop June- #2

It's time for the Serendipity Stamps Blog Hop! We're changing it up this year- there will be two hops each month as usual and there will be opportunities to win $ to purchase Serendipity Stamps. The design team will be showing you the latest products and offering a chance for you to win some goodies from Serendipity Stamps.

You should have arrived here from Marybeth Lopez blog but, if you got lost along the way I have a full list below. I have a kinda' clean and simple card for you today.

So, I'm still in the beach mode, that time of year.... right!! So I played with the Lighthouse die. The background was water colored with blues and browns for the sands using distress oxide inks. After the ink was sponged onto the watercolor card stock- I sprayed with water. This was done several times to get the color variation I wanted. When the sky was 99% dry I added some clouds using the same distress oxide ink but, without spraying the water. I added some white splatters to the sand. The Lighthouse die was cut several times for layers and to get the red accents.

I thought the sentiment- My Life- is one of my favs- this girl is dreaming about sitting on a beach with no cares in the world :-)

 Looking for some awesome inspiration?
I'm the last stop on the hop today!!

AND... there are always prizes. One random comment along the hop will receive a $20 gift code to the Serendipity Stamps store. You have from today until Sunday to leave your comments. Mary will announce the winner on the Serendipity Stamps blog on Monday!!

Have a great day... hugs, Vickie!!

Color Throwdown #497

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by Lori!!

It's another beachy theme to me!! This week we're playing with coral, pale aqua, yellow, and green.

I pulled out some goodies from Neat and Tangled to create my sweet beach scene. I did some water-coloring for the sky and beach. After I water-colored the sky and it dried- I went back with the MFT cloud stencil and added some sponging with the same color to create the clouds. The images were stamped onto PTI Select White cardstock and colored with copics.

Color Throwdown #496

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by Lisa!!

This week we're playing with aqua, black, and white. Yikes- I love that pool set up!!

I pulled out some goodies from Altenew. The background dots were stamped in the aqua color without worrying about the saturation of the color. Added the graduated stripes die in black with this die cut sentiment on top. The sentiment was die cut in the colors and offset a little. Finished with some enamel dots.

Welcome to this week's Guest Star Stamper!!

Serendipity Stamps June Blog Hop- #!

So, it's time to think beach.... right!! So I played with the Whelk shell, the Scallop shell, and the Small Whelk shell. For the background I ink smooshed colors onto TH watercolor paper and left to dry. Next I chose complimentary colored cardstock, stamped the images with versamark, and heat embossed with white embossing powder. These were adhered to the background with glue or foam for dimenstion. Lastly, I added the Imagine die  (cut three times and layered) with micro foam dots for some more dimension.

I thought the sentiment- In the Attitude of Silence- went perfectly with dreaming I was sitting on a beach with no cares in the world :-)
