Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog!!

Welcome to the Serendipity Stamps Challenge! We love seeing what you make with your Serendipity Stamps and Dies. The challenge begins on the first of the month with a central theme. The design team provides samples for inspiration at the beginning, and then again at the half way point of the challenge, but you get a whole month to join us! At the half way point we'll be showing another round of samples as well as celebrating with a monthly blog hop - showing you the latest products and offering another chance for you to win some goodies from Serendipity Stamps.

The rules are simple... play along using at least one Serendipity Stamps image on your submission and link it below. You don't have to have a blog to play along - you can link your designs to any on line gallery. In fairness to other players, we reserve the right to remove entries that do not display a Serendipity Stamps image.

Ready for our latest challenge?

SSCB#61 Texture!!!! Easy peasy, right!! There are so many ways to add texture to a card- distressing, ribbon, twine, glitter, enamel dots, sequins.... you get the idea!! Whatever you choose just be sure to include at least one Serendipity Stamps image (stamp or die) on your design!

Want to go shopping? The stamp of the month for October is the  Snowperson with Wreath (50% off- can't beat that!)

Here's my card...

I stamped the Snowperson with Wreath onto PTI Select white card stock and colored with copics. Hard to believe Christmas will be here soon!! To add texture to my card- glitter for the bow on the wreath, liquid applique on the cuff and top of the pockets, ribbon/twine, and a little distressing. Used bright/bold colors for this one!!

Here's a little close up so you can see the glitter and liquid applique....

Verve Stamps - October Release Retrospective Blog Hop!!

Welcome to Verve's October Release Retrospective Blog Hop!  Today the Verve Divas and Guest Divas are back with another dose of inspiration using the brand new release! All of our new products are available to order in the Verve shop and on sale through the end of October! Plus, we've got a sweet hop prize in store!

Another chance to take a look at all of Verve's new goodies!! I have a couple cards for you today!!

For my first card I played with Angel Voices and created a background by stamping one of the smaller angels in memento tuxedo black onto PTI select white card stock. Next I colored the angels with copics and stamped the small "crisscross" heart in red. To fill in the spaces between angels, I stamped the small star in memento tuxedo black. That sweet sentiment is from the same set- love the different fonts!! To finish it off, I added a few sequins and white beads.

This card uses Autumns Blessings stamps and Autumns Thanks dies. I'm calling this my "color blocking" card. The base was cut and distressed with a distressing tool. I stamped the dot image from Better Together in the upper left and lower right for a little interest. Next I die cut this sweet wreath twice and colored with copics. One wreath was adhered directly to a white circle - I added foam dots to the second wreath and adhered on top for some dimension. Sentiment was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed in white. Last- a little Verve seam binding to finish it off.

One more ditty- I love to make tags but, don't always think of doing that...these ended up being gift card holders.... here's some sweet/simple gift card holders using Angel Voices...

The polka dot background on these kraft glassine bags uses Verve's Bountiful Backgrounds (sorry it's retired). Added some paint splatters and made the banners using Verve's Banner Bundle die set. Below you can see how nicely a gift card fits. I'm thinking some young one will think they're hearing Angel Voices when they get their gift card :-)

All right enough of me... it's time for some good news...

Color Throwdown #415- Merry Christmas!!

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by Jodi- we're playing with cream, red, brown, and green!!

Alrighty then.... love that inspiration pic and these colors.... I looked and wrote down the colors...green.... soooo... my green came out a little darker :-)

I went with another Christmas card using these sweet deer from the Merry Everything stamp set and die cut mountains from MFT's recent release. Believe it or not (I have had tendonitis in my dominant hand) I had a moment when the NSAIDs were working and was able to quickly color these deer with copics. Added some of the mountains in the background. Sentiment is also from the Merry Everything stamp set.

Some inspiration...

Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog and Hop- Anything Goes!!

Good, Good Morning welcome to the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog Hop!!

Love seeing what you make with your Serendipity Stamps and Dies. The challenge begins on the first of the month with a central theme. The design team provides samples for inspiration at the beginning, and then again at the half way point of the challenge, but you get a whole month to join us! At the half way point we'll be showing another round of samples as well as celebrating with a monthly blog hop - showing you the latest products and offering another chance for you to win some goodies from Serendipity Stamps

Now we're at the halfway point!!

The rules are simple... play along using at least one Serendipity Stamps image on your submission and link it below. You don't have to have a blog to play along - you can link your designs to any on line gallery.

This month it is all about Anything Goes- dontcha' just love those :-)

I made a couple cards for today.... first up is a little Halloween fun!!

This sweet image Mr. Bones was stamped onto PTI select white cardstock and colored with copics- what about that splotchy shirt :-) Diecut that panel and another one with spellbinders wonky rectangles and layered them up. Added a Boo sentiment with the Serendipity's Boo diecut.

Have a Wicked Day is the sentiment on the inside along with a few "splotches" from Serednipity's Ink Splash stamp.

Next up is a fun winter card using Serendipity's Snowflake Reverse die. I used the snowflakes (rather than the reverse part of the die). First I heat embossed a random background with Stampendous Shabby Blue embossing enamel. Then I sponged ink on several of the white snowflakes and also die cut some blue snowflakes. These were added randomly to my panel. The Wish sentiment was diecut several times and layered for dimension. Added some sequins to finish it off.

Here's a little close up... you can see the sweet detail on these snowflakes!!

That's if for me today....

The 50% off stamp of the month is the Pumpkin Border...
