Waltzingmouse Stamps

I'm posting a couple projects today!! The Head Moustress at WMS has a challenge to use the chalkboard technique and I made a card for my hubby... it's a little "girly" but, I know that boy can handle it-- after all we raised two girls!!

Yes, the man is getting pink ribbon and pearls!! Now, I may be showing my age... do you remember when the first men's pink/lavender shirts and ties came out? We bought Bill a sweater and challenged him, yes he wore it. HA...that's how it works at my house! It's a wonder he has survived three girls!!

Images and sentiments are from WMS My Heart and the flourish is a "ditty" from WMS Vintage Labels 10. Papers are Basic Grey True Love, ribbon is from The Ribbon Carousel and pearls are a combination of SU and Pizzazaplenty!!

The next project is what I created for the WMS Blog Party--caught a virus and didn't get posted, but, I was influenced by the whole chalkboard technique in a different way, so I thought I would go ahead and post. Used WMS Woodgrain  and My Heart sets to make a candy basket and small card. Loved the Woodgrain image stamped in Versamark and embossed with white on black... added some red and pink.

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words!!

  12. Oh my heavens I LOVE the woodgrain in those colors! Looks like a little birch basket! The color combination looks amazing...especially the layered scalloped edges. Your card looks like you whittled it and I am NOT even kidding!! The heart stamped in the same color scheme...did I say it looked like you whittled it? TOTALLY not kidding I said!

And your chalkboard card is so sweet for the Mr. My DH Jason is getting used to being around 1 wife, 2 girls, and even a girl dog. He can handle a pink bow here and there. Such sweet pairings of sentiments on this one!

  13. All gorgeous - love the addition of the pink bow on your first card...it really pulls it together beautifully.

Funnily enough I had a go at embossing the woodgrain in white on black cardstock last night. It's sat there waiting for me to do something with it!

  14. Hi Vickie

The images and sentiments on your first card look very pretty in the chalkboard technique and I also like that pink bow as addition.
And the candy basket and card in the woodgrain look are also very beautiful, especially in connection with those colours.

    Kind regards
    Carola
