Two Cards Today....

Last 2 for this month's Verve weekly challenges in the SCS forum.
The first card is week 4 and I chose room 1- focusing on the black and pink. Love these colors and the stamp originally was a digital stamp that Julee offered free for a period of time last year and this year made into a stamp-love it!! Stamped the image on white, colored in the "frills" for lack of a better word, stamped the image again on white and covered in glitter!! That's my BLING for the C4C challenge this week. Added those lovely blooms- they are beautiful but, large- difficult to incorporate on a card -really hard to balance out a card with them!! Added some pearls around the image and the top of the image panel.

Stamps: Verve Love Story, Ink: black, copics, Paper: SU retired dp, black, white Accessories: pearls, SU organza ribbon, Websters pages bloomers, MS glitter

Card Number 2.....

Week 5, Room 2. Used Basic Gray's Ambrosia paper. Ran across this paper at Michaels as I was looking for pretty fall paper. My oldest daughter is getting married next year in the fall and we are going to make her invitations, save the date notices {I'm slow, they didn't do these when I got married years ago!!}, thank yous etc. If any of you have any children close to marrying age, start SAVING NOW!! Wow, it is amazing how things can start to add up!! Had a sheet of paper I picked up last year that was a shiny orange with leaves/trees flocked and did a sample with chocolate base, shiny paper, vellum with tiny swiss dots layered over the top, brown crinkly seam binding tied at the top etc. etc.- looked gorgeous but, still searching for paper options!! Okay, I'm rambling a little here, he he he!! So, I got this sheet of paper for her to check out and on Saturday it was sitting there and I was looking at room 2 with the beautiful fall colors..... well, you can see what happened!!

It wasn't the paper we were looking for anyway but, it was funny when she came by to look at it and it was all "cut up"!!!

Discover Your Wings!!
Played in the Curtain Call Color Challenge this week. Usually shy away from these a little {really not sure why} and when I first looked at the colors- I loved them!!- but, wasn't sure I could get them into a card!! Also, used Taylor's sketch challenge from Friday. Have had this set "Discover Your Wings" for a while and hadn't inked up all of the images yet!! Used the watercolor re-inker technique on the butterfly and added a few pearls. Using the neutrals really makes the "red" pop!! Here's my card....

Here's the sketch....

The Colors.....

P.S. Definitely need blogger for dummies as no matter how hard I tried, couldn't get this blogger edit to do 2 hyperlinks!!! Sure it is MY issue!!!

Thinking of You

Week 2 of the weekly/monthly Verve challenges. Amber provided the sketch and we picked the inspiration from Anthropologie. Haven't had a chance to use these Verve butterflies much, but they are gorgeous!! Sentiment is from Kind Words also by Verve. Paper is from a TE kit but, I love the bright colors and I think they go perfectly with the bedspread I chose. Here is the inspiration pic.... and my card!!

And... a close up of those butterflies!!

Make Tracks!!
This week's TCPTues challenge is to use olive, teal, and eggplant!! I definitely struggle with purples but, I came up with something. {for details go to The Cats Pajamas blog or SCS thread in the forums} Used Mercy's Tuesday sketch 92 for the layout. Isn't that just the cutest bunny on a scooter!! Love scooters... always reminds me of our trip to Key West and running around on scooters..such a Blast!! Bunny was stamped twice, once on the nestie panel and colored with copics. Again on vanilla- paper pieced, colored with copics, and popped on top. Added crystal effects to the front and side mirrors to make them shine.

Happy Saturday!!!

MFT's weekly stamp club challenge...."Make A Scene". Ran by Michaels yesterday on the way home from WORK {ugh!- busy busy week} and purchased some Halloween stickers. Halloween has always been fun at my house... with kids, you know!! Planned on using MFT's new PI's but, when I started laying it out-changed my mind!! The images are form MFT's Digi Kit The Boo Crew, printed in black, paper pieced, colored with copics and cut out just a few!! Grass and tree made with steel dies from MFT.

MOJO157!!

Love the sketch for this week. When I was viewing the samples- Teresa Kline used the Tim Holtz edge die that I had purchased a while back and never used. Motivated me to get mine out and use it. Recently received some SU Love Letter dp-had to use that too!! After the card was done-I realized that Teresa also used a dot paper for the long vertical panel- oh well, cased more than I thought!! LOL!! Purchased the new colors from SU-now, I was always in love with riding hood red but, Cherry Cobbler may be my new red fav-LOVE IT!!

Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much!!!

How true is that!! One of my favorite sayings!! Julee {Verve} designed a set that includes these sentiments, "Dream Big"!! Used Jen's SFYTT from 2 Saturdays' ago. Stamped the sentiments in chocolate chip onto a nestie square. Used 2 inverted square scallop nesties behind the sentiment panel, one is chocolate felt {from MFT} and one with October Afternoon paper. The side panels were made with dp from OA and retired SU- sewed a little down the middle. Leafs were stamped with tangerine tango, chocolate chip, and old olive. The leave images have different designs and they are gorgeous- from Verve and currently on sale through the end of September!! Added a corduroy button with some twine {TCP}.

SUPER Hero- Boys CAN be heros, you know???!!!

Actually, my boy is a hero- cleans, laundry, cooks etc.- what more could a girl want??? MFT's weekly stamp club challenge this week was Super Hero's or Stars. Used a recently released PI called Super Boy!! Don't make a lot of boy/man cards so, this was a "bit" of a challenge for me!! Image was stamped in tuxedo black, paper pieced, and colored with copics and cut out. Image layered on nesties. Sketch is for the Crazy 4 challenge this week which was a sketch. Now, you may be wondering about those staples... here's the story- finished the card and felt like something needed to be added to the twill. Since I had already adhered everything- couldn't add silver brads {not long enough}, then I remembered a card "englishrea" on SCS made where she scrunched the ribbon and stapled it {it was gorgeous!!}- not exactly the same thing but, that is where the staples came from. LOL!!

TE Sketch 128 and CTD colors!!

Made a few cards this weekend in between running around with my daughter. Actually played in the Color Throwdown and Taylor's sketch challenge and combined the two!! Yoohoo- don't you love when you can do more than one challenge in a card??? Used a stamp set from TE that I had not inked up yet {ashamed} and have had for awhile. Stamped the flower image with basic gray and a little rich razzleberry. Used SU's french script {SU still has a similar bg stamp} for the vanilla background. Made a scallop border with MFT's large scallop die-namic and retired pink pirouette dp. Added gray ribbon, flower, and some tiny twinkles...done!! CTD colors were rich razzleberry, pink pirouette, and basic gray.

Scottish Poochie!!

Last weeks TCP weekly challenge was to use plaid. Amy Rohl made a card with TCP's new sheep image with the cutest plaid scarf. So, I started thinking and decided to make Poochie Scottish {needed a male B-day card also}. Well, not sure it turned out well- but, I tried! LOL!! Stamped the image from TCP Smell the Cake, colored the cake with copics and added liquid applique for the icing. Stamped Poochie from It's a Mod Mod World and heat embossed with clear to give him some "furry like" texture, added a kilt and hat. Used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch challenge for the layout.

Here's Poochie!!

Here's a close up but, I think he's a little blurry. Sorry!!

Viva la Verve week 3!!

Whined a little when I saw this sketch, what can I say- there were all these squares and then that circle!! Actually, once I decided on the inspiration pic the card came together quickly!! Proud of myself for sticking to the sketch {I think I threatened to deviate!!}. The birds from Verve's Love Story were stamped in so saffron onto a nestie square. The flourish in the "Blessings" set was stamped in versamark and heat embossed with white. These have definitely become my fav flourish!! The crinkled ribbon is from prariebird on Etsy and the button from MME and to "die for" IRL. Added the glittered chipboard hearts on top of my white circle that was punched with a MS punch {learning how to take a corner punch and use "in the round"}.

MTSC and TCPTues125!!

My summer months were so crazy that I was unable to play in some of the challenges I normally like to...starting to get back to normal. This card is for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch challenge and The Cats Pajamas (TCP) weekly challenge!! The TCP challenge was a pic of multi-colored pencils arranged with the points in... I went for the colors. Inked up this cute bunny (Forget About the Cake) for the first time... isn't he/she adorable!!! Colored with copics, added some glitter for frosting, a sentiment, button with twine and stitched the 3 panels on the left.

MOJO Monday155!!

Two weeks in a row I have been able to play!! Lately, that has been a little difficult for me to find the time for. This is a great sketch-very versatile {and not too many circles..hehehe}. Used Webster's pages for the verticle panels and the gorgeous ivory lace. The scrolls on the bottom panel are a CB embossing folder {one that I "go to" a lot}. Love the green, brown, and saffron together!!

Well Read!!!

If you knew me, you would know I am an avid reader!! Read everynight in bed--- have been known to read 5 books in a week, yes.... that is absolutely true!! So, when MFT's recent VIP was WTG Well Read, how could I possibly pass that up???? She is stamped in memento tuxedo black and paper pieced with OA Report card (at the end of my stash), colored with copics, and adhered to kraft. Added ribbon, twine (from TCP and I have to say the best ever!!), corduroy buttons, ribbon and one of the new MFT die-namics, Notebook!!

For MFT's weekly stamp club challenge Back to School Blues (have been missing a few of these), this week's sketch challenge on SCS, and the C4C challenge for anything book related!! WooHoo- 3 in 1!!

Enjoy the Ride....TCPTues124!!!

The Cats Pajamas host weekly challenges on their SCS forum. This was for last week, it was a sketch challenge. Had it layed out but, never had a chance to finish. Took a long weekend for the holiday and went camping in the Smokies. Used two TCP sets- It's a Mod, Mod World (fell in love with this set-you see I grew up in the Jetson's era--shows my age LOL!!) and the sentiment is from JoyRide. Used OA report card paper and nesties to cut the circles. Added a little sewing and twine to the buttons and twill. The twine "fits the bill" for the Ways to Use it challenge- WT287 to use twine.

TFL!!

The place we go camping has a creek that you can go tubing down, you walk up about a mile and then enter the creek at a small waterfall, takes about 2 hours total- it's tricky though!! 14 went and 8 went under getting starting down the creek. My future SIL's friend and family were staying in a cabin but, came over to tube.

Verve Sept. Week One

For the Verve weekly sketch challenges, week 1 September. Made this card before I left for a long Labor Day weekend. Went camping in the mountains- got a "little" chilly with the hurricane coming through on the coast. Sunday morning I had quite the outfit- you know one of those when you throw on everything you have to keep warm!! We counted for fun- 15 different colors LOL!!
Picked the 3rd room - polka dot chair and pink pin up board. Used one of Verve's new releases from August Fabulous You and a Waltzing Mouse stamp set that works perfectly with the Spellbinders label 4 nesties (gotta love these!!).
