Yikes... Websters Pages delivered to my door... and I played a little, this was last week of course!! Moving my older daughter since last Thursday sooo... it's chore, what can I say!!! Used my new nesties labels 14, vanilla with Plain Jane Psalm 3:3 from Verve {taking you to the whole shebang!!}and cut two more in different colors from the same size nestie and layered. Added the silver trim from Websters Pages {a little glam} on top of MFT's ribbon, some sponging on the smallest nestie... not great at this but, working on it slowly!! LOL!!

Close up of the ribbon... and, yes that's netting from Websters Pages also.

Not sure the netting shows up like it should but, definitely fun stuff to play witth!!
TFL!!

We have the CANDY ready for the trick-or treaters {my DH thought I forgot for a minute there!!}

A Little Halloween.... and A Little Flowers

Stacey's Colors and Jen's sketch... X 2!! When I first looked at the colors, I thought flowers and I thought Halloween. So, I made two cards with the colors and Jen's sketch...you guessed it... one HALLOWEEN and one with FLOWERS!!

We've been busy at my house, helping my older daughter get ready to move... and it's moving dayssss!! Haven't even carved pumpkins yet, but... Halloween isn't until Sunday and the pumpkins will be carved tomorrow night {cause I said!!}- ever pulled that trump card?? {being the mom, you know!! LOL}

The colors {daffodil delight, basic gray, black, white, pumpkin pie} and sketch....

HALLOWEEN...

The first card uses the MFT tree die-namics with a little daffodil delight moon embossed with swiss dots, large scallop square  and circle nesties, Verve pumpkins glossed with crystal effects and Verve sentiment. Added buttons tied with divine twine, some ribbon, and embossed the background panel with a Sizzix folder.

FLOWERS....

Some of my fav flowers -- image from Verve's Great Friends. Used Basic Gray Basics White dp for the background, cut two white nesties in the same shape, stamped the flower 3 times on watercolor paper and watercolored with basic gray, pumpkin pie, and daffodil delight-- popped them all on top of each other. Used MFT's open scallop border die-namic on top of a strip of black, added gray ribbon {Becca Feeken's tutorial-I need to adapt to a leftie!!}, clear shimmer mist all over the flowers, silver pearls, and a little tag from SU's tiny tags!!

Tomorrow... 8 am sharp back to moving--- along the way I think we will "find" some pumpkins!!

TFL!! Hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend!!

Casing a "Dirty" Verve Diva!!

Week 3 of the Verve weekly challenges was to case Jackie Pedro who was inducted into the Dirty Dozen this month!! A year ago when I started participating in the Verve challenges, for one of the release week challenges, we had to case a Diva.... made me nervous!! When this came up, I thought, okay.... as long as you don't deviate toooo much~~ you have it made KWIM???

Changed the sentiment and paper. Kept to the same layout. Xmas is coming so... Xmas card it was!! NO stitching {still coming to terms with the sewing issues}.  Isn't Jackie's layout adorable!!!

Here's my card--

Notice the different fonts on the sentiment.... one of Julee's trademarks--LOVE IT!!

Merry!!

Off on a Monday...unusual for me but, Saturday was a seminar!! Actually, had to present. I know lots of you are okay with that but, it is not something I normally do and the last time was several years ago-- had a "minor" panic attack!! It's one thing to sit around a table and talk and quite another to stand up behind a podium!! I survived with no anxiety so, maybe I'm a grown up now LOL!!

Today I have a gift bag. MFT's weekly stamp club challenge this week was to make a gift bag. Christmas is coming and I usually make a few of these. Used one of the adorable PI's "Merry Kissmas". Stamped with memento tuxedo black, paper pieced the scarfs, colored with copics, and glittered the snowman or is that snowgirl?? Layered on  a large scallop nestie. The background paper is Tinsel & Twig {love this stuff}, added a lower border with the open scallop die-namic and some black pearls. Finally used my banner die-namic {tease Jody aka texasjodylynn on SCS} about suggesting that having several of these is great!! I gotta admit it would have been wonderful to have more than one. Added divine twine along the top and some ribbon on the handle. Here's the bag....

A couple of close ups of the image and banner...

Thanks for looking!! Love when you stop by and leave comments!!
Ingredients
Stamps: my favorite things PI Merry Kissmas, alphabet stamp set

Winter is an Etching....

Won the last release of Verve stamps... the fall release and still playing!! The leaves are from Autumn Splendor and MOJO Monday 161 is the layout. You may notice the upper right corner isn't "exactly" true to the sketch but, generally followed the layout!! Leaves stamped in old olive, early espresso, and dusty durango~~ cut out and layered on top of each other. Border at the top is an EK success border punch. Added some ric rac dotted ribbon from We R Memory Keepers with vanilla on top, lace bow, and pearls. A little scoring on the kraft and durango. The tag is from SU~~ my sis gave me these and I hadn't even used them yet!! {shame on me}!!

Some Bunny Special!!

Mercy's sketch and TCP Tuesday....

Have been wanting to play in Mercy's sketch challenge but, haven't had an opportunity to get it done on time. May be late now even??? Have been trying to get this done and not a lot of time during the week. Flippped the sketch on its' side, moved the scallops towards the outside, not a square but, pretty much otherwise in line!! LOL!! Also, for the TCP inspiration challenge using a pic {pink and ivory}... added a little green/turquoise and crumbcake. Am I being a "rebel" here????
Here's the sketch and inspiration pic....

Believe!!

MOJO Monday and HYCCT03...unsentimental

Verve released this set Believe a year ago in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month!! Fell in love with the set, not only because of the flowers {which are gorgoeus btw} or sentiments but, because research is "near and dear" to my heart!! I am a nurse by profession but, have worked in research for > 10 years now. I have lost a dear friend {college roomy} to breast cancer and my SIL was diagnosed with breast cancer this summer. We {meaning researchers, not just bench researchers but, those that try to bring new therapies to patients} work HARD to find options for the patients we see every day!!! This set is on sale right now and not only do you get a discount but, $10 from every set sold goes to breast cancer research!! WOW... can't go wrong with that!!
Used the MOJO monday sketch and HYCCT03 unsentimental {no sentiment on the front of your card}!! Here's the sketch....

Here's my card....

Stamped the stems in crumbcake onto the vanilla panel and then, stamped two sizes of the flowers, colored both with copics, popped the smaller flowers on top and added pearls. Used and EK success punch for the border on the left, pierced some and stitched by hand. Sponged and distress all panels. My scallop border is the two layers of crochet trim and added ribbon, bow, button with TCP twine and a pin {on the bottom instead of top of the card}!!

Thanks for looking!! Love when you stop by and leave comments!!

Ingredients
Stamps: Verve Believe
Paper:Girls Paperie Vintage Travel, vanilla, crumbcake

Enjoy Your Day

I love this Verve border image... it's from Fabulous You but, there are some...oops to confess to here!! One you will notice when you check out the sketch and one you will notice when I post the card!! Here's the deal... when I was flipping the sketch, I didn't flip the circle and sentiment in proportion {the ribbon, button, and twine should be below the rectangle image} and then, I didn't stand up and look down when I was adhering my panels {crook in neck trying to make that right upper corner come in line, LOL} but, I still like this card and I'm posting it!!!

Here's the sketch and inspiration pic from Amber {Verve's weekly sketchs and inspiration pics in their SCS forum}... tried to upload and "no go", sure it is operator error!!

Anywho... here's the card

Stamped the frame and sentiment in memento tuxedo black, colored the sentiment with SU marker, added Stampendous rhinestones {this also meets the HYCCT06 challenge to use Something Old -stampendous rhinestones, and Something New- Girls Paperie Toil and Trouble dp and Verve Fabulous You}. Sponged a little Tim Holtz distress ink around the edges of everything, ribbon is SU, and the twine is "divine" from The Cats Pajamas!!

Thanks for looking!!

Playing with new stamps from Verve's last release {some recent busy months at my house and hadn't had a chance to ink some sets yet, I know shameful!!}. Jen's sketch from this last week SFYTT and it also meets the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge to make a b-day card!! Whoa.... 3 in 1!!

The balloons were stamped on marina mist and so saffron. Struggled with "decorations" and ended up pulling out some "old faithfuls"- SU Itty Bitty Backgrounds and Background Basics- thought they worked perfectly!!?? The balloons and sentiment are from Verve's Birthday Bash and the angled panel with the beautiful scrollwork is from Verve's Fabulous You!!

The Geek Shall Inherit the Earth....

Honestly, some days at my house I would gladly let a "geek" inherit!!! Just think on those days when the computer is acting up, how wonderful would that be to have a geek in the house, LOL!!

This week's MFT challenge was a sketch. I hadn't inked up this set yet and really think it is great for guys!! Image was stamped in chocolate chip and paper pieced everything with Cosmo Cricket's Wanted collection. If you look, you can see the back of the chair has horses on it!! Even "grown" up boys would be okay with that!! It also meets the F4A33 challenge on SCS to use a computer.

Last week made a card using Jen's sketch and the Color Throwdown colors of pacific point, melon mambo and river rock!! I tried to focus on just the colors {didn't think I could do it???} not normally something I would do {i.e. just colors without DP etc.!!!} but, I did and depending on the pic, I think I did okay!!! Do you ever have those days where you wonder about the pic { I know, prob'ly not!!}
