Tag You're It- Dare to Dream!!

It's a rainy and cool Sunday... so I'm having a little fun stamping!! ETA: Didn't get this posted last Sunday- this Sunday is hot and sunny :-)

Wanted to play with Tag You're It again....It's fun to make little works of art!!

Kim Heggins is the hostest with this sweet tag...

So I went off on my own again...although I was inspired by elements in Kim's tag.

I die cut tags using MFT's Rounded Banner Stax (an oldie). On the white tag I created the sky using MFT clouds and sponging a little blue. Added a stitched die cut sun in the corner. Then I die cut several images from MFT's London Mouse die-namics, colored with copics, and added them to my little scene- popping some up for dimension. The sentiment is from Verve's Borderline set. Dreaming of that European vaca- although my family is working hard to get me to buy a beach house so the vaca would be out!!

The elements I took from Kim's card were- a rounded tag/square at the bottom, outdoor scene, and a critter.

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

Color Throwdown #440

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by Wanda. They are bright!!

AND.... who doesn't love pickled deviled eggs!!

So last week Barbara made a card using emboss resist and I loved it so I had to try it out myself along with my Color Burst powders that I have had and never used. The background was made using MFT's Lined Up Dots- stamped with versamark and heat embossed with white detail powder. After spritzing the section I was going to color with water- I "puffed" on the Color Burst powder and moved around with a wet brush. I wiped with paper towel to pick up the excess. This was repeated with each of the colors. I die cut MFT's Sending Hugs and ink blended adhering over the panel. Last I added a few enamel dots.

The layout is this weeks CAS(E) this sketch.

Some inspiration...

Reverse Confetti- SFYTT

Hey, I had a chance to play in this month's Reverse Confetti Sketch challenge... SFYTT!!

Since I have been dreaming of the beach/tropical places...

I pulled out RC's Pineapples A Plenty. The pineapple with die cut and then stamped with a bright yellow ink. The stem was die cut and stamped- popped on top for dimension. The rounded panels were made using RC's Circles and Scallops confetti cuts. The banner was die cut using the Banner dies- I stamped an image (those little dots) from Monkey Business on the banner and adhered over the circle panels. Papers are from RC but, an older set.

Here's the sketch....

Serendipity Stamps Blog Hop!!

Welcome to the Serendipity Stamps Blog Hop! We're changing it up this year- there will be two hops each month as usual and there will be opportunities to win $ to purchase Serendipity Stamps. The design team will be showing you the latest products and offering a chance for you to win some goodies from Serendipity Stamps.

You should have arrived here from Julie's blog but, if you got lost along the way I have a full list below.

I have a few cards for you today...

For my first card, I stamped the Dogwood Branch ( which happens to be the 50% off stamp of the month) all over the front of a white card stock panel in brown and then colored the blossom with a light pink copic. Added the Spring die from the Seasons dies (die cut three times and layered for some dimension) and a twine/seam binding bow.

These two cards use the Playing Cards and Suits dies and Playing Cards Sentiments.

Both are 4.5 x 4.5 cards. On the first the card, the images were stamped on the playing card die and mounted onto a background panel. The sentiment was white embossed on black and popped up for a little dimension. For the second card I stamped the sentiment onto the playing card die, added hearts using the dies, and popped up on the background panel for some dimension. Sorry the pics aren't the greatest- they are adorable in real life!!!

Looking for some awesome inspiration?

AND... there are always prizes. One random comment along the hop will receive a $20 gift code to the Serendipity Stamps store. You have from today until Sunday to leave your comments. Mary will announce the winner on the Serendipity Stamps blog on Monday!!

Hello, Beautiful!!

Happy, Happy Monday!! I have a card for you!!!

I stamped MFT's Fancy Flowers in memento tuxedo black onto a MFT stitched rectangle panel and colored with copics. The background used another stitched rectangle (from Blueprints 29- layered the green diagonal piece on top prior to die cutting so it too would have the "stitch".  Added a sentiment from Essential Sentiments onto the oval word window dies.

The layout is the current sketch at MFT Card Challenges and the colors are for the current SSS Wednesday challenge.

This week we're playing with light pink (coral), light yellow, and green.

Isn't this hairpiece gorgeous... I just don't have enough hair to use one :-)

I played with MFT's I'm Owl Yours and matching die-namics. The background is MFT's Diagonal Sentiment Strip Cover up die. These sweet owls were stamped in memento tuxedo black and die cut with the matching dies., colored with copics in the requisite colors and popped up on to the striped cover up die. Tag You're It- Welcome Little One!!

Another little dittie that I made this WE when I finally had some extra time.... well, I may have just decided I needed some stamping time :-)

This one is for the current Tag You're It challenge.

Here's the inspiration....

My tag...

First I die cut the tag using a die from Reverse Confetti with white cardstock and then, again with gray cardstock and trimmed the bottom. I stamped this sweet koala bear from Reverse Confetti and colored with copics- popped up on foam. Added the tassle (Reverse Confetti die), gray seam binding, button, and white twine bow.

My inspiration from Joyce is- pink and one other color (I used gray instead of black), critter, rounded tag- mine are scallops, and the tassle instead of the gorgeous flower.

Color Throwdown #437

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by Lori.

This week we're playing with green, blue, red, and yellow.

Yesss... it's tulip time!! Love this vase and flowers. I didn't go with flowers but, with the idea of a little celebration (it's spring!)

I played with MFT's Uncorked sentiments and Wine Service dies. Watercolored a background with blue and yellow (Gansai Tambi watercolor paints) very lightly and then added a little gold embossing. The wine bottle and glasses were die cut, sponged with green, gold accent embossing was added to the glasses and a red sponged label was added to the bottle. Sentiment from Uncorked was stamped onto watercolor cardstock. All adhered with some foam here and there for dimension. Added some blue/white twine for a little something.

Some inspiration...

I have a couple of cards for you today...

Both use the new Happy Background die

For my first card I die cut the background leaving all the pieces in place. Then I sponged color haphazardly in the colors of the rainbow. The rainbow colors are so bright it is hard to see the detail in the pic- but, in real life it's fun (see below for the detail). I removed one "Happy" sentiment (which happens to be exactly the shape of Serendipity's Happy die )- to add dimension I die cut the singular Happy die several times- added some adhesive and layered and then, adhered over the appropriate spot on the cover up die. Added the Birthday Sentiment (white embossed on black) and a little twine to finish it off.

For this card, I die cut the Happy Background die, popped out some the Happy pieces, trimmed to 4 x 4, and backed with a yellow striped patterned paper. Easy, quick, and fun!! This panel was adhered with foam for a little dimension and twine to finish off.
