SSCB 26- Chalkboard!!

Happy Wednesday and another Serendipity Stamps Challenge... we're playing with the chalkboard technique!! Talked with my mom earlier {lives in Northeast IN} and they just got 8 inches of snow!! Winter Wonderland!

Me... still in the Christmas/Winter mode and I inked up this adorable Snowman/woman..'kay I'm somewhat of a feminist... not in the Gloria Steinhem way... but, want us girls to get credit, LOL!!

I stamped this adorable snowman with versamark and heat embossed with white. Added a little color with pastel chalk and sponged some white ink around the image. Added some snow with Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil using modeling paste. The sentiment is also from Serendipity and it was stamped in versamark and heat embossed with white.

Such a fun and still trendy technique!! Works with all kinds of images!!

Hope you find time to join us, and...

The rules are simple... play along using at least one Serendipity Stamps image on your submission and link it below. You don't have to have a blog to play along - you can link your designs to any on line gallery.

may your holidays sparkle!!

Geez o pete... the holidays are upon me! Probably doesn't help that I started my shopping just last week! Haven't had much time to stamp. My sweet friend Mona from Cupcakes Creations sent me a surprise in the mail and I started on this card over a week ago and finally had a chance to finish!! Thanks girl!!

Aren't those snowflakes gorgeous!! The detail is fabulous!! They are Mona's- MFT MPD Sophisticated Snowflakes. I stamped them all over with Delicata gold ink. Added a sentiment from MFT, some gold twine, and gold jingle bells.

The sketch was last week's Deconstructed sketch, this week's Curtain Call Inspiration challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge... snow.

CTD 272 - thank you- with love!!

Happy Happy Wednesday... WOW this month is flying by... guess that happens when I just started my Christmas shopping last WE!! Only on Saturday but, we began at 3:30p and I was home at 9:30p- long mall trip for me!!

This week Broni picked the colors and inspiration pic... I used both this time... a little spring inspiration... I'm ready!! Honestly, I should be ashamed to say that when I know there are so many parts of the country being blasted with snow and ice... but, I'm a warm weather girl!

My card....

Aren't those painted Ball jars fabulous!! I used a set of images and dies from Clear and Simple stamps that I bought last spring and never inked them up... shame on me! I used Well Preserved Jars Medium, Well Preserved Jars Extras, and the coordinating Well Preserved Jars Medium dies. Stamped the jar outlines in gray and then added the "insides" with another image in the different colors. The images are a little crackled looking just -how perfect is that!! Colored the flowers with copics- cut a slit and inserted.

My card....

Still playing at making my own backgrounds... lots of fun!! Here I used WPlus9's Merry and Bright along with the Christmas Words dies from Paper Smooches... LOVE them both!! There are so many more images in the Bright and Merry set- I only used 3 and the Paper Smooches die set has 7 dies that can be mixed- the Christmas on my card is the largest.

SSCB #25 - Happy Holidays!!

Here we are again for the new Serendipity Stamps challenge- this week the challenge is to make a "shaped" card!!!

Now, I will say mine is not a very creative shape, AND I had other ideas originally- but, I really wanted to color up this  Poinsettia Basket image and didn't think ahead! After they were colored and it was time to add the shape...this is the only shape that I had to accommodate! BUT- Aren't they gorgeous!! All the fine detail in the image is fabulous!! I stamped mine with Memento Tuxedo black onto XPress It blending CS and colored with copics. Added some gold pearls in the centers for a little bling. Tried adding bows {at the top, on the side.... didn't work...} This poinsettia basket just wanted to SHINE on its' own :-)

Did stamp the inside with a another Serendipity image... Holly with Frame and Happy Holidays sentiment!!

It's time for the next Color Throwdown challenge- #270!!

Happy Wednesday my friends!! Tomorrow is Turkey day in the US and I am in the throes of making all the traditional foods and everyone's favorites!! My oldest, Lauren, is contributing too... we will have scrumptious food {and no cooking} for 4 days... WHOO HOO!!

Enough of my celebrating 2 days of furious cooking and 3 days of stamping and eating :-)

To business...

Wanda picked the colors this week... LOVE the inspiration pic { I have a bunch of old ornaments I have collected that get displayed in a large glass jar... gorgeous}!! I was a "titch" intimidated by the colors.... ohh, turns out I was wrong!! Well, it's certainly not the first time! These colors are fun!!

And...  I got a little bling on... makes me happy!! I used WPlus(s Silver Bells and matching dies. Created my own background, added some silver embossed berries, silver twine, and a sentiment from the same set on an MFT Flag Stax die!!

I've had some time to make some cards recently and that's good as we're getting ready to do the US Thanksgiving celebration and the grocery list is long and the favorite foods wish list is long!! Will be busy the next few days!!

Here's a card for the Viva la Verve challenge on SCS.... week 3... Anya's sketch!!

Did some paper piecing with these adorable Verve Trees... Holiday Greetings! The little stars are from the same set... added a little bling for good measure!! Stamped the sentiment on a couple of Verve dies... Mini Classy label and Charming Oval! Ohhh. and Julee is having some sales!!

Anya's sketch...

I've had a fun WE... stamping... cleaning blinds {not sure why I would add that as fun but, dang they were dirty and look so lovely now!}

Entering this in the Curtain Call Challenge...I see Christmas trees... not traditional colors but, love how they played out together and this is pretty CAS for me, LOL!!

WMS Pajama Party- One last card!!

I'm back with another card for the Christmas card challenge for the Waltzingmouse monthly PJ party!! Click on the link for all the info.

Clare has released some dies that coordinate with previous sets.... one of those is Festive Foliage!! I had gold embossed the Pinstripe Backgrounder onto white last weekend and it was just sitting there wanting some love!! Went all glittery on this one!!

All of the images and sentiment are from Festive Foilage along with the new dies.... check them out here. For the embossing on the holly leaves- I mixed some clear and white which gives this imperfect embossing pattern but, I like it. Now, the sentiment may not seem Christmassy but, it is part of this set and it is my message regarding these new dies. Thanks Clare- LOVE them!!

PS... thinking Camellia dies, Funky Flowers dies, Two Step Sprig dies..... :-)

I started out using Chupa's sketchbook Saturday challenge but, kinda' changed it a little.

WMS Pajama Party- Challenge 3

I'm back for the third challenge for the Waltzingmouse monthly PJ party and this month is all about Christmas!! Click on the link for all the info.

This challenge is all about tags. I used an image from Seasonal Remedies to make my tag. A big ole striped bow with some black jingle bells tied with twine to top it off.

I added the tag to a belly band for a little gift packaging. The kraft box was stamped with WMS Zig Zag backgrounder.

Gotta go- I'm working on another card using the new Festive Foilage dies :-)

WMS Pajama Party- Challenge 4

Waltzingmouse is having their monthly PJ party and this month is all about Christmas!! Click on the link for all the info.

The fourth challenge was to make a 3D item-decoration/home décor. Well, I was not very imaginative but, I have been dying to make a 3D ornament using Clare's spellbinder compatible Christmas images soo....

And.... I have been singing this song for a couple days!! One of my fav Christmas songs!! Isn't the image gorgeous- it is from Ornate Ornaments- has several spellbinder compatible images and some fabulous sentiments. I chose the sentiment from Compliments of the Season.

I'll be back shortly with my tag - decided it needed black jingle bells too so hubs is spraying them :-)

WMS PJ Party- Traditional Christmas!

PJ PARTY at WMS... challenge #2...

Off the subject... I have a ladybug crawling around my keyboard... this time of year... never expected... thinking she's needs to go outside..

I'm back...

 Challenge number 2... Traditional Christmas...

Better pic...

Non-traditional colors but, traditional images :-) One of the new sets at WMS-Alpine Christmas and matching dies... YES. matching dies!! Clare has definitely taken the leap into the die business {new dies arrived at my house today that compliment older sets--- Festive Foilage--- can you say HAPPY!

The mountains and chalet were stamped in versamark and heat embossed with seafoam embossing powder, die cut with the coordinating dies... added a little color/depth to the chalet with copics to outline the image and adhered with foam dots. Snowflakes are from Alpine Christmas and added some gold pearls for a little bling. Sentiment from the same set.... are the fonts not fabulous!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

PS... tomorrow I get to play with the Festive Foilage dies... WHOO HOO!!

CTD #269- So Thankful!!

Happy Wednesday morn'!! I'm the hostest with the mostest over on the Color Throwdown challenge this week. We're starting the US Thanksgiving off a little early!! I'm ready for a little holiday- good food {will be busy cooking everyone's favorites} AND a 4 day WE!!

Here's the colors I chose along with an early celebration pic!!

The layout is the Cardabilities sketch this week. I die cut several banners from my trusty MFT Flag Stax dies and proceeded to stamp tone on tone with various images.... MFT LJD Darling Dots, Verve chevrons from Borderline, and the argyle from PTI Argyle. The sprigs were die cut with Verve's Leafy Sprigs and stamped with the matching image. As well, the flowers were die cut with Verve's Floral Circles and stamped with a flower image from Bloom & Grow. Added some twine and a Verve sentiment stamped on one of the dies from Verve's Banner Bundle.

Cardabilities sketch...

SSCB#24 - Gift or Gift Tag!!

This time the Serendipity Stamps challenge is to make a gift or gift tag using a stamp or die!! So many choices!!

I have certainly been in a tag making mood lately!!

Well, I ended up decorating a gift bag and making a tag... just having too much fun!! I stamped the Holly from the Holly with Frame cling set onto XPress It cardstock and colored with copics. After I fussy cut the images they were popped up onto a black background and I added some crystal effects to the berries. The little gift bags were stamped with a Serendipity Snowflake Flourish, tone on tone. If you click on the pic below- you can see them- perfect little touch IRL.

For the tag, I die cut a spellbinder die with chipboard and covered with patterned paper on both sides. If you add a little tag with "To and From", it can be removed and the resulting tag becomes an ornament or other decoration for the holidays!!

Hope you find time to join us, and...

The rules are simple... play along using at least one Serendipity Stamps image on your submission and link it below. You don't have to have a blog to play along - you can link your designs to any on line gallery.
