VLV CAS and PDCC

The last week in the Verve weekly challenges on SCS are clean and simple (CAS) new trend... new year! This month Andrea is the CAS hostess... bet, she was going through flower/bling withdrawal-just teasing! I used the PDCC133 colors of Baby Blue-Denim-Cherry.

Used Authentique Glory papers purchased at the Ribbon Carousel--- lots of products and great prices! Banner was made with Verve's Ribbon Tag A Cut Above Die. Outline and sentiment are from Verve's Best Dad Ever. Added some divine twine from The Cats Pajamas and popped everything up with foam dots from jodymorrow@confessionsofaribbonaddict.

Ahhh... long weekend and I've had unexpected company Friday nite and an unexpected "bug" after!! It happens! Hoping to do a family cook out tomorrow.... I'm the pie and mac-n-cheese girl!! Both of these take some work... grew up with mac-n-cheese in a box but, that is NOT real mac-n-cheese. It's cooking macaroni just right in a 13 x9 with sauce that you have to "worry over"!! I finally tried the real thing {aka southern thing} and mixed two recipes after asking questions and dang.... they LOVED it!! My oldest called tonite asking for the recipe... I don't know it... I piddled!

Hope you are having a wonderful long weekend if you live in the US- to anyone else any weekend is a blessing!

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words!!

ISSC17- Let's Mix It Up!!

Good Friday morn'!! Yippee it's Friday- I know I say this every Friday but, I MEAN it 'cause for me that means a weekend is almost here and a little free time!! It's even more special to me... Memorial Day weekend and I'm working half a day tomorrow (probly' will be later --- afternoon--- late afternoon--but, I'm off Monday too, WhooHoo!)

Kick starting the weekend with the 17th installment of I Spy Sketches. This is the sketch challenge where
we come looking for YOUR cards for inspiration!! This week the sketch is based on this card  from Amy Rhol (rhola @ SCS)

This is a Lulu image that I won from a Kraftin Kimmie stamps release!! These mages just make me smile... Lulu is like Pippi Longstocking to me... have a little one {well, she's not all that little- 19 BUT....} that is Lulu/Pippi combined!  Don't  y'all be telling me that you don't know who Pippi is!

It's your turn....have fun and get to Stampin!! Make a card using the sketch- you can take a bit o' liberty and link it up.... we'd LOVE to see what you create!! Make sure and stop by the blog to see what the other Special Agents created-serious coloring and creativity!!

You're my favorite l'il space cadet

This weeks' Waltzingmouse sketch challenge is a "doozy"... just my humble opinion!! Actually, all the Mischief Makers and brave souls have made some fabulous cards... so, maybe it's just my small brain cells. A challenge is a challenge... and, I think I used more different DPs on this card than ever... my space ships are a little wild! Little Boys are wild... even a little girl--tomboy---works for me, I had one of those, LOL!!  We've got two... colored with copics and paper pieced. Wild and Wilder!!

The sketch is from Lynn Mercurio and based on a card she created for a WMS release...which is fabulous!! I stole the flag idea from Jean Martin... dang, I have fallen in love with tags and LOVE my WMS Bitty Banners!! Images and sentiment are from WMS Half Pint Heroes... now, there's a Half Pint Heroines that is definitely on my wish list!! Here's the connection to WMS.

Here's the sketch...

1 is good..

2 is better! The Play Date Cafe Challenge this week is black/white with a splash of color, yellow... well, actually mustard but, any yellow will do. I went as dark as I could with the copics I own. Now, there isn't much coloring (just bicycle seats) but, it is the darkest yellow I had.

Used Nina B's Tandem set from The Crafts Meow. Loved this set when I first set eyes on it. When I was a kid (5 kids  in my family- 4 girls and then a boy) we had a tandem bike. Lived in a small town. My friends and I would "scoot" all over town and yonder on that bike with my friends!! Colored the seats and added some crystal effects along with the flower petals and added a couple tiny rhinestones. Since the front didn't have a sentiment and was "pretty plain" to me--- I fixed up the inside. This is about CAS as I can get, LOL!! One day maybe, I'll get the hang of it!

Here's the color story from PDCC- wonderful graphics as usual!

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words!!

P.S.  The Crafts Meow just released six new sets... LOVE them! Stop by and get out your card or "hit" that PayPal button, LOL!

TLC377-Debossing

Ha...not title as there is no sentiment on the front of my card!! Will be one of those versatile stash cards. Made this for the Technique Lovers Challenge on SCS- debossing. Had some "dittys" lying on the top of my craft table (you know rejects from previous cards) and decided to put them together. I like the way it worked.

Corrugated heart was die cut with Verve's Wavy Hearts die and painted a little with a dauber. Lace heart and corrugated paper from thefunkiejunkie on Etsy. Embossing folder is SU's Vintage Wallpaper. Added some ribbon and a button from my stash. Background panels are two Spellbinders Labels 23 dies.

Hope you had a great weekend!! Mine has been enjoyable... a little stampin'... a little cooking... and a little laundry!!

Thanks for stopping by!! If you stop by, let me know, I love hearing from you!

ISSC16- you're a lifesaver!

Good Friday morn'!! Yippee it's Friday- I know I say this every Friday but, I MEAN it 'cause for me that means a weekend is almost here and a little free time!! Kick starting the weekend with the 16th installment of I Spy Sketches. This is the sketch challenge where we come looking for YOUR cards for inspiration!! This week the sketch is based on ISSC16 is based on  this card from Dyane Fogleboch (Precious Stamps @ SCS).

Happy mail arrived at my house the other day in the form of some new The Cats Pajamas stamps .... love this bunny (BunBun is the name, I've heard!). He/she is out sailing.... okay, rowing the seven seas! Stamped the image twice, paper pieced the boat and oar, colored the rest with copics (practice, practice, pratice) That and using the right paper- I've had XPress It blending cardstock and haven't used as much as I should- trying to correct the errors of my ways and it definitely works better...yes, yes, yes, my teamies at I Spy are color fanatics and they do have knowledge.. accumulated knowledge when you add them all up... blows my mind!).

Enough of making them feel special (hehehe), added some waves with a TCP cut ups die, sun was made with a MFT die-namic. Papers are MME Ms. Caroline Dilly Dally- doncha' love that name-- Dilly Dally- makes me think of a lazy summer day, wearing flipflops and just hanging out, which will be upon us soon!

Here's the sketch

Just a little tip... if you don't want to freehand that curve on the background panel- I cut the square and then used a coffee cup saucer to trace the curve on the backside of my dp- then cut... easy peasy!

It's your turn....have fun and get to Stampin!! Make a card using the sketch- you can take a bit o' liberty and link it up.... we'd LOVE to see what you create!! Make sure and stop by the blog to see what the other Special Agents created-serious coloring and creativity!!

smell the flowers.....

Played with WMS Sewing Box Hugs this week for the WMS sketch challenge. This set just hasn't seen enough love at my house! Lynn Mercurio's sketch and it is wonderfully versatile!!

Stamped the flowers several times on MME's Bright Side Two Papers, fussy cut, and layered with foam dots for some dimension. Stamped the leaves on the same papers, fussy cut, layered behind the flowers, and "flicked up" with my finger to add some dimension. The last panel was stamped with a herringbone pattern from Heirloom Patterns...fabulously versatile set! Added a little stitching around the heirloom pattern and horizontal panel.

The sketch...

Hope you're having a wonderful week... it's HUMP DAY... bless, I need it...last week ended horribly and this week has been horrible so far... at work, that is!! You would think there's a full moon, LOL!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words!!

It's Gonna Be Okay

Verve week 2 sketch by Charmaine. Took a couple liberties with the sketch... not tooo many though!! Love this Verve PJ- good friend at work when everything is falling apart (reorganization, layoffs, you know the drill- would come to me to discuss and she would say "It's gonna be okay!!"

Hoping you can still "see" the sketch. Played with some lace, paint, corrugated cardboard, stitching, papers, and colored a Verve butterfly (always makes me happy!).
Charmaine's sketch

Verve has weekly sketch challenges on SCS- play in all of them and link up towards the end of the month for your chance to win one hundred smackaroos in Verve dollars- yes, that's a buncha Verve stamps/dies--can't get any better than that! See link above to the challenge.

Tomorrows' Mom's Day and this Momma is relaxing and stampin (I hope anyway!) That's all I asked for- well, did my own present shopping... I'm a stamper!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words!!

ISSC15- love ya. MOM.

Good Friday morn'!! Yippee it's Friday- I know I say this every Friday but, I MEAN it 'cause for me that means a weekend is almost here and a little free time!! Kick starting the weekend with the 14th installment of I Spy Sketches. This is the sketch challenge where we come looking for YOUR cards for inspiration!! This week the sketch is based on ISSC15 is based on this card from Leanne (From Leanne @ SCS). You need to check it out... it's gorgeous!!

Couldn't help but, think of my MOM on this Mother's Day weekend. She's smart, loving, perservering, courageous, loyal, supportive, loving, forgiving, ... did I say LOVING (think that's the key to all the other traits- they come easily when you love). She raised 5 kids and some grands and she did it with "style"!! My HERO!!

Used a whole buncha' Verve and some older BG papers (Olivia). Flowers are from Verve's Hope Blooms, colored with copics, fussy cut, slit and curled up, to add dimension. On the smaller ones I added some beads (from a shirt/sweater extras-how's that for recycling!). Leaf image was stamped on early espresso, heat embossed with clear embossing powder, cut with Verve's Leafy Sprigs die and some curling with the fingers. Sentiments are from Verve- Twitterpated and Love Deepens. Check out the Verve here.

Here's the sketch

That curve may throw you off (just sayin' Kim) but, there are options- torn paper, rolling hills, math rulers, part of a saucer.. it can be done!!

Here's how to play

happy!

Managed to sneak in the Waltzingmouse sketch challenge (with a little lot of liberty!!) and also use the Play Date Cafe colors for this week. Not sure where my mind was at the time... left brain analytical-follow the sketch, right brain...think abstractly, LOL!! I am actually ambidextrous (one of those lefties that bats left- throughs a ball right- actually know my brain is ambidextrous-have had my brain scanned and I know this!)
It was for a research study, being a guinea pig, did I mention I don't like MRIs- little claustrophobic-analytical left side comes in handy in those moments!!

Okay... this is a little different (right brain, if you're following me) and not exactly where those buttons are supposed to be but, I was having fun playing. Don't you ADORE those buttons- I did anywho and they didn't work in a circle and I also ADORED Claires' doily (Waltzingmouse Stamps) sooo... it made me happy to use those buttons with Claires' doily!! Sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps Say It Loud. Papers are MME Follow Your Heart Be Happy papers...okay, now I could be really weird and talk 'karma"- cause I didn't really remember the name of the paper at the time I was playing!! Hopefully, y'all don't think I'm tooo crazy at this point!!!

Kellys' sketch... which I love and will try to left brain it in the future!!

Used the Play Date Cafe colors of salmon, pink, and aqua. Love this combo too!

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words!!

PS I'm reworking this card and reusing the elements (those gorgeous buttons)... come back later when the left brain is in control, hehehe!!

Yikes... got to "play"

I am so thrilled that I had a chance to stamp a bit.... thinking my MOJO went on a Carribean Cruise (really wishful thinking.. Cruise that is--- I'm wanting some rainbows (type of flipflop but, cushiony) with the perfect pedicure, sun, and sand... ohhh... maybe a glass of wine to top it off!!! Can you tell it's been a long week?

Played with some Verve. I am and I think will always be in LOVE with the Verve set Wings of Love and dies!! Well, truth be told I love a lot of Verve!! This card is for the Verve weekly sketch challenge on SCS- week 1- sketch by Amber and used the colors from CR84FN53... pink, aqua, neutral (used a couple of neutrals-soft suede and ivory--eeeeks hoping that's okay?

Here's the sketch and colors

Also... used the SCS Ways to Use It challenge to distress... was thinking I would distress with distresser and with ink but, ended up just doing the ink!

Hoping for a quiet weekend... DH's B-Day is Monday and we're doing our fav Mexican-throw in a little Cinco de Mayo!! Gotta go get ready!!

Hope you're weekend is going well!

Rockin' I Spy!!

This week the sketch is based on this card from Brenda ( fuzzymaddy@ SCS).

Ha... wondering about the Rockin' well, it's these adorable penguins (Idols- yes, there's  little Beatles, a little Elvis, and a little Michael Jackson going on in this set) from The Cats Pajamas!! Okay... I love me some penquins and so does my youngest daughter and playin' a tune... perfect!!

I fussed a little with those penguins- aka stamped them many times! Tried some coloring, tried some shading, tried some outlining and kept going back to the black/white image, thought it worked best with the colors.

Here's the sketch

This has been another busy week for me... my niece and her friend came to visit and we have been busy eating and entertaining!! Looking forward to a quiet weekend (as quiet as it gets when you have a sorority running in and out of the house, feeding some in btwn. the running-LOL!!- this was DH's comment the other night when I couldn't say how may girls were coming and going!!)

It's your turn....have fun and get to Stampin!! Make a card using the sketch- you can take a bit o' liberty and link it up.... we'd LOVE to see what you create!! Make sure and stop by the blog to see what the other Special Agents created-serious coloring and creativity!!

Love when you stop by!! Appreciate all the kind words!!
