Color Throwdown #353- HELLO!!

Happy Hump Day!! Glad you stopped by to check out this week's Color Throwdown colors!! I am the hostest and we are playing with Green, Yellow, and Purple!! Yes, I "bit the bullet" and even picked purple as a color!! Actually love the color but, it's not one I normally gravitate to!

I played with one of the Crazy Birds and my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers.... yes, everyone in blogland convinced me I NEEDED these. This was my first time and I'm thinking I need a little more practice :) but, I LOVE the bright colors you can achieve quickly -just need to practice the blending. Sentiment is one of the PTI wet paint dies.

Visit the rest of the DT and our special guests this week for more inspiration...

It's been a busy summer...

A couple WEs ago, I had a chance to play with SSS Balloon dies, SSS Stars stencil and Wendi Vecchi gold embossing paste, AND my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers.... enjoyed my chance to play a little...

The die is from Serendipity Stamps die cut with gold cardstock.... the curve is perfect for these balloons!!

Made this card for Curtain Calls Celebrate challenge. Love the gold tipped balloons... I just switched it up to gold stars.

Time to Party! July SFYTT

Good evening!! It rained here for a little... the doppler shows a bit more than we got but, maybe it's coming later... high hopes, right :)

Last weekend I finally had a little break in summer plans and was able to make a few cards. This is one of them. I played with some Reverse Confetti and used this month's SFYTT sketch.

Played with a bunch of Reverse Confetti that I've had for a little while :) I started out with one of the Quick Card Panels and die cut an Envie wrap in white and then die cut the circle of the Envie wrap with the largest circle from Circle -n- Scallops. Stamped and die cut a party hat from Party Hats (stamps and dies) and popped it up on foam after adding some black tissue paper for the trim and pom pom. To the white background panel I added a couple of chevrons from the Triple Chevies.

Here's the sketch...

Color Throwdown #352 -- Just a Note!!

Happy Hump Day!!

S0- are you a crunchy grass person or sogging wet? Yes, I know that was out of left field but.... we have not had rain for so long when you walk on the grass it crunches. AND- we have a small farm in IN that the south side has a pond in the middle of a terraced field that has never held a rain drop!! We are on voluntary water restrictions here in NC... watering a lawn wouldn't help at this point... only cost an arm and a leg without green grass!!

On to the fun for the day....

Tammy picked the colors this week... fun!! Lovin' that little bucket!!

I played with some new Verve stamps and dies... always fun to play with new things!! My mint green is more on the bluish side...it was the ink closest to the color that I owned... does that mean I need to go ink shopping :)

My card uses Floral Notes and the matching die along with the Flourishes die set. Here's the LINK to all the new goodies. I CASEd the background stitched circle from Julee's card HERE. Loved it for this sketch.

The design team provides inspiration twice a month (at the beginning of the challenge (the second Wednesday of the month, and at the half way point - the fourth Wednesday of the month) but you get the whole 4 weeks to play along! You still have two weeks left to link up your design!

Ready for our latest challenge?

SSCB#45 Monochrome - Here's a quick definition: consisting of or displaying images in black and white or in varying tones of only one color. We're looking for projects - any theme - any occasion with a monochrome color scheme - you can use any color you like - but one color only! Just make sure you include at least one Serendipity Stamps image on your design.

Our favorite design will receive our winner blog badge and one random winner of this challenge will receive a $20 discount off their next order from Serendipity Stamps. You have until midnight US Eastern Standard Time on August 10 to link your project. The winner and our next challenge will be posted on August 12.

I have to say this stretches my brain cells a bit :) BUT... that's what a challenge is all about, right!! I used Serendipity dies for this card.... Sweet, Baby, and that cute bootie (with both a solid die background and the fancy top die!) The Baby die set comes with a sweet bow but, I wanted to add a little twine. The stitched tag is a Pretty Pink Posh die... Serendipity sells both Pretty Pink Posh and Cheery Lynn dies along with their own unique dies. Here's the link to all the dies that Serendipity sells.

For more inspiration there are samples from the design team on the challenge blog or you can visit them directly and get all the details by clicking on their names below.

Color Throwdown #351- Smiles!!

It's time for this weeks Color Throwdown colors!! It's hump day too!! I'm hoping this WE to get some stamping R&R since I haven't had a lot of time this summer- there are some challenges I've been missing!!

Monika picked the colors this week...

Aren't they bright and beautiful!!!

Honestly- purple has always thrown me off and with pink.... I was a little nervious but, I had fun making this card using Ellen Hutson's Essentials designed by Julie Ebersole- Bokeh Dots and the sentiment/sentiment die is from Simon Says Stamp Wishing/Sending. I used this weeks CASe this sketch for the layout. The gold dots are my sparkle- Delicata gold ink (love this stuff!)

Color Throwdown #350- Different!!

Good Morning and Happy Hump Day!! Summer is flying by...at least it seems like the days are going fast!! Have a couple more trips planned... one this month and one late August. Just came back from a camping trip in the mountains... a rainy camping trip!!

Lori picked the colors and inspiration pic this week... Love It!!

Isn't that fun... LOVE this geometric giraffe!!

So I went with the geometric using some Reverse Confetti dies and stamps.

The wonky background is Reverse Confetti's Geometric Confetti Cuts.... die cut in 4 colors and played with the little pieces to get the pattern. Die cut Reverse Confetti's Tag Me twice... once with cardstock and then with vellum. The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti's Fabulous Flamingo. Added a few enamel dots and twine/ribbon. Thinking I want a Xyron? A little easier to adhere those tiny pieces?

Serendipity Stamps Challenge-- Monochromatic!!

Welcome to the July Serendipity Stamps Challenge. This month we are going monochromatic... Use ONE color... any color.

Here's a little close up of the gorgeous Serendipity Stamps Butterfly die.

I used two Butterfly dies.... the large Floral Butterfly and the other is from the Floral Frame Embellishment die set. The are wonderful layered!! You can see both of them HERE.

I have to be honest... monochromatic is hard for me!! I always think of whites/creams/browns/blacks. BUT... aren't those butterflies GORGEOUS!!

Our favorite design will receive our winner blog badge and one random winner of this challenge will receive a $20 discount off their next order from Serendipity Stamps. You have until midnight US Eastern Standard Time on August 10 to link your project. The winner and our next challenge will be posted on August 12.

Serendipity Stamps July Blog Hop!!

Happy July 4th eve!! The DT at Serendipity Stamps is having a blog hop and ohhh.... we have some fun stuff-n-things to show you!!! I have several cards today so, I hope you are patient!!

You should have arrived here from Miriam's blog but, if you got lost along the way I have a full list below.

For my first card I played with the Poker Chip die and the new sentiment When the Chips You Can Count on Me....this sentiment comes both horizontal and circle. Here's a little close up...

Here's the full card...

Quick story- I grew up in the Midwest and I have to say playing cards is definitely a winter past time. One of our (hubs and I) games of choice is euchre. My DH and I would partner and he would bid wild- not my suit, opposite color, large number of tricks- you get the idea!! More times than not- we would make our bid- why... because he would count on his partner to know what he was going to do and bail him out!! So, as I was making this card that is what I was thinking about :)

My next card uses the sweet Piggy and another new sentiment Heard You Were Out...

Here's a little close up of my next card. I wanted to show you the pattern I created on my jeans. After coloring with copics, take a piece of an old pair of blue jeans, wet with copic colorless blender and press down on the jeans. What you end up with is that pattern. Fun, huh!!

Here's the full card using the new Cowgirl, Howdy Die, and the paper stars are from the Bandanna die.

Final card was just a little whimsy... may have gotten carried away with the splatter and enamel dots. This card uses the US Map and new sentiment Sending Smiles.

Special:   Sale is free shipping on all US orders of $15 or more Contental US only.  Stamp of the month is Winter Doe
Leave comments through Sunday July 5 for a chance to win a $20 Gift Certificate to SS.  Mary will  announce a winner on her blog on Monday July 6.

The next stop on the hop is Jeanne... sure to be something bright and beautiful!!

Instead of linking to each individual stamp/die/sentiment.... CLICK HERE to see the full page of all the new goodies.

If you got lost along the way, here's the full hop list.

Color Throwdown Challenge # 349 - You Lift Me Up!!

Good Morning on this bright and beautiful Wednesday morn'!! I'm a little giddy as we have finally cooled off a little around these parts- 60's in the morning and 80's/low 90's high for the day. We have been dealing with 80's in the mornings and 90's/100 lately!! The air conditioner has been working overtime (and worried it would break down)!!

Today our colors were chosen by the talented Jodi....

Love this combo!!

I worked on my watercoloring skills :) This sweet WPlus9 giraffe (Party Animal and matching dies) was stamped with SU Tip Top Taupe and heat embossed with clear onto TH watercolor paper. I watercolored with SU Crumbcake and Tip Top Taupe. The balloon was watercolored with SU Tangelo Twist and once dry the sentiment was stamped. Watercolored the background with SU Baja Breeze- let it dry and then stamped some Bokeh Dots from Ellen Hutson Essentials by Julie Ebersole and heat embossed with white. Added some wood enamel dots and clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
