Color Throwdown # 390- Happy Day!!

Good Morning!! Happy Hump Day!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! Loved all the cards last week!! I had a blast looking at all the cards using my bright colors... dang, wish I had a little more time to stamp!!!! That being said... I love all the different interpretations of the colors... design, stamps used... etc. etc.

Wanda picked the colors this week....we're playing with yellow, navy, and white!!

Beautiful cakes... yummm!!

Here's my card...

Totally not the cake them, although it works!! So I played with some more NBUS as Darnell would say!! I need to... it's piling up!! All from MFT...Tweet Friends and coordinating Die-namics. The sun was a freebie a while back- it's a stitched sun... totally fun!! The sentiment is from MFT's Wings with Things!! Those clouds are also MFT die-namics but, may have been one of the original sets... gotta love dies that last!

This girl has been busy and little stressed these last few weeks- dealing with family illness from afar- that can be more difficult than just being there!!

Kind- Fierce- and Barve

In between life--- a four year old -my sweet daughter's fiances' little one- she's the sweetest thing- loves to cook but, at 4 that's a little project :-) Especially when she wants to cut veges with a sharp knife AND that won't work :-)

I did happen to have a chance to make a card using a sentiment from Verve- that I LOVE-- actually love all of Julee's sentiments but, this spoke to me at the moment! My dad just had open heart surgery (he'll be 85 in June- a very, very, health 85- he had an aortic valve replacement and two bypasses) It was a little rough- oozed/bled for 15 hours (yes, I did an all-nighter at the hospital with my hubs and sister-it's been a long time!) Instead of going home in 5-7 days, which is the normal now, he went home at 11 days but, he's doing Great!!

For my Dad and Mom...

Yep-- fits perfectly!! Sweetest people I know!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

Love ya!!

Good Morning!! Happy Wednesday!! Welcome to this week's ColorThrowdown challenge.... hosted by yours truly!!

I picked some bright ones... aren't those shoes adorable!!

Here's my card...

I played with MFT's Sweet Succulents along with both sets of dies. The sentiment is from the same set. I did a little no line copic coloring and added some glossy accents to the cacti AND a twine bow (this girls loves a little bow)

Serendipity Stamps Blog Hop and Challenge!!

Good Morning- so glad you stopped by today. The Serendipity Stamps DT are showing off some new goodies in the store and combining it with this month's Serendipity Stamps Challenge-- This month it's all about embossing!! AND this time around the DT were asked to add an additional challenge... Get Well/Thinking of You!

You should have arrived here from Miriam's blog but, if you got lost along the way I have a full list below.

SSCB#54 Emboss - dry, heat, deboss - so many design options. The choice is yours... just make sure your project includes some type of embossing and at least one Serendipity Stamps image!

I have three cards for you today.... couldn't help myself :)

My first card uses the SWEET kitties in the Little Critters die set along with a sentiment from the Meow Mix Cling set. The background was stamped with the Beaded Strings background stamp using versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Next I water colored with Gansai Tambi watercolors (Kuretake) in rainbow colors. Die cut a PPP Stitched Duo 1 frame and some kitties in rainbow colors. Popped the frame up adding the kitties in the windows. The sentiment was the finishing touch- also stamped and heat embossed. My thinking of you card for all my cat/kittie lover friends :)

Here's a little close up so you can see the embossing AND the detail on those sweet kitties :)

Then... I thought all those sweet critters would be perfect for a baby card...

The background was water colored- and stamped with the Beaded Strings stamp and heat embossed with white. Die cut all the sweet critters...did a little water coloring... added a die cut stitched circle from Cherry Lynn (Mary stocks Cherry Lynn in the store)- placed the water colored critters in a cluster- some popped up. Added the "Sweet" sentiment die cut several times using gold paper for a little dimension.
Another close up of the embossing and those critters....

Last card....

Love this Open Book image... added a few water colored die hearts from the Critters die set.

And the inside.... this sentiment is perfect!! Not the best pic but... perfect sentiment!! I am a book lover myself... read every night before sleeping.

Color Throwdown #388- Sunshine!!

Good Morning!! Happy Hump Day!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! Loved all the cards last week!! This week's colors are yellow, blue, green, and white!!

Aren't these colors and this inspiration pic perfect for spring... April showers!?!

Playing with more new goodies!! Well, some are NBUS goodies (have had them for a "bit" but, my stamping time has been limited- or maybe I just buy too much?)

The pic's not worth a hoot- have to use Ott Lights and need to finesse my set up.

Used some new and older Verve. The sun and clouds were die cut with Verve's new Partly Cloudy dies. I sponged a little blue ink on the outside of the clouds and stamped the sun with an image from Verve's new Rise Above (love those rays- kind of a mottled appearance- not sure that's the right word?) The umbrella and sentiment are from an older Verve set- Rain or Shine. Well, the boots were my own little attempt since I didn't have a stamp and I really, really wanted some rain boots - drew the outline, stamped with Verve's Bountiful Backgrounds dot image and then fussy cut. Only attempted this once- need a little practice on drawing :)

Color Throwdown #387- Happy Thoughts!!

Good Morning!! Happy Hump Day!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! Loved all the cards last week!! This week's colors are light aqua, red, orange, and yellow!!

How fun is this wreath!!

Playing with more new goodies!! These are MFT's Fall Florals---- man, are they popular-- it has taken me forever to get them!! First I die cut the center with MFT's stitched oval scallops. Then die cut and stamped several of the flowers- love how the package shows you what images go together- so much quicker. The flowers were grouped in the corner with a couple "popped up" with foam for dimension.

Serendipity Monthly Challenge--- Emboss!!

Good Morning and welcome to this month's Serendipity Stamps Challenge-- This month it's all about embossing!!

SSCB#54 Emboss - dry, heat, deboss - so many design options. The choice is yours... just make sure your project includes some type of embossing and at least one Serendipity Stamps image!

Yep- I'm still thinking spring and flowers!!

So I used this month's Stamp of the Month- Adirondack Chair. The image was stamped onto PTI Select white cardstock with memento tuxedo black and heat embossed with clear. Then I went to town coloring with copics. Next i die cut the image with Cherry Lynn square dies which leaves an embossed outline. Several layers were adhered playing off the colors in the image. Lastly, I added some twine for a little texture.

Here's a little close up so you can see how the Cherry Lynn die embossed the edge. Sorry about the shadow in the upper right.

The finished inside sentiment.....

Want to go shopping? The 50% off stamp of the month is the...Adirondack Chair.

Looking for some awesome inspiration?   We have a very special guest this month too!
