Butterfly Kisses!!

As I said... wanted to participate in a couple challenges for The Crafts Meow's B-day celebration. These images are from one of my fav sets. Also, played along with Play Date Cafe's color challenge this week.... black/white/with a splash of brown. Interesting color combo and I wanted to try!!

Used Butterfly Kisses... LOVE this set!! There's a fabulous "fairy" image but, I went with the butterflies and sentiment.

Colors...

Sketch...

Yes... I took a couple of liberties... sentiment is on the oval focal panel and bow replaces the sentiment, but, it worked (I think??)

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words!!

Happy B-Day to The Crafts Meow!!

The Crafts Meow turned 1 on March 21st and they are having a celebration which includes a few challenges. I'm new to this company but, LOVE their images. I only have a few of their sets but, wanted to sneek in and at least play in a couple challenges.

This set is called Telegram and has all kind of telegram related images. I stamped the largest "telegram" in tangerine tango, offset, and not clearly stamped for a shabby look. Added the sentiment image and a banner with pompoms.

Inspiration pic...

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!! I took an extra day off to rest up and it did wonders for me!!

PS they just recently released several new sets that are fabulous.... definitely on my wish list!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words!!

This week's sketch is based upon this card by Emily Keaton on SCS.

Kay'... I was still playing with my new WMS French Country and instead of diagonal papers- I did diagonal patterns-- aren't they gorgeous!! Clare makes some fabulously detailed and gorgeous patterns... IMHO!! Going for the monochromatic look.  Distressed a couple layers and added glitter to the rose (IRL that glitter is pretty!)

Verily...

I Thank Thee!! Made a card for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge-80 (created by Renee) and the CR84FN- 50 challenge to use pink, orange, and yellow. Yes, a bright one is coming your way!!

Used some new stamps from Waltzingmouse... Florentine Frippery and Heirloom Patterns (bg diamond). Stamped the gorgeous image from Florentine Frippery in tangerine tango and melon mambo, cut out and popped both layers. The daffodil delight image in the center is from Florentine Frippery, also. BG diamonds is an image from Heirloom Patterns stamped in daffodil delight. Sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and heat embossed with clear. Added some pearls to finish it off.

Very Proud of myself... I'm early for the WMS challenge and even made the CR84FN on time!!

I am having a wonderful Sunday... a friend of my youngest daughter got married today... it was beautiful but, a "tear jerker" too!! They grow up so FAST!! I've known this child since she was in 7th grade---and she got married today... WOW!!

eta: I just realized that (well, late last nite but, didn't have time to edit) that this card is a CASE of Jean Martin's card for a WMS sketch challenge a couple weeks ago. Stampin Scrapper. I didn't "consciously" realize at the time I made it nor, when I posted, Sorry Jean for not giving you credit!! Obviously LOVED your card so much it stuck in my mind!!

I Spy... a bunny with a wiggle!!

Good Friday morn' starting with the next I Spy Sketch!! Spring has sprung and we're looking at Easter!! Friday brings another I Spy sketch challenge- this week I went with bright colors and a FABULOUS bunny-- Verve bunny and sentiment (which I ADORE)!!

This week's I Spy sketch is based upon this card by Brigit (Biggan on SCS).
Yikes... I sponged and it wasn't half bad... I know you think I'm dingy-batty etc.- but, DANG I'm Happy!! Used some MME Fine & Dandy Tickled Pink papers along with SU's Island Indigo and Whisper White. Used a Spellbinders label (the sponging I finally did not half bad, LOL!!)- liquid applique to the bunny tail and add some SU glitter- then heated-- a little sparkle tail (if I do say so myself) and popped her up!! Sentiment is perfect!!

Good Morning!!

IN LOVE with the new WMS stamps and have been so busy and not able to play as much as I would have liked!! Sneaked in a card with the new French Country set using this week's WMS sketch.

Looking at this card, I'm wondering... where is the rooster 'cause this sentiment is so perfect for a Rooster (if you've ever lived on a farm..YKWIM!! Stamped two gorgeous backgrounds... one in a mustard/gold color and another border from this set that is fabulous- the middle panel- both borders are fabulous but, dang I am love with the middle border. HA, should be in love with my DH and DD's but-not at this moment, LOL!! Not sure the pic does it justice (I tried, LOL, maybe 30 pics taken. Anywho.. sentiment was stamped in SU soft suede onto SU vanilla... did a little distressing and popped all layers. Added a Websters Pages bauble.

The sketch...

Throwing in another card... was originally intended for the WMS Waltz (17th of every month) which fell on St. Paddy's (read somewhere that if you shorten St. Patrick's Day this is the correct way to state it!) and life got in the way (entertaining aka FEEDING 4 teenagers- the clerk at the grocery store even recognized this--yes "loads of food and cooking", LOL!! Used a digi image that Clare graciously provides as a freebie, colored with copics, dyed some muslin with tea-cut-wrapped- added ribbon and an wooden button.

Now, that's some kind of wonderful freebie!!

Tomorrow brings a corporate meeting for me, finishing something for a friend of my daughters'- to be displayed at her wedding Sunday (no pressure here) but, relaxing between.

Come back tomorrow for the weekly I Spy Sketch Challenge.... I'll be "shaking" Viva la Verve bunny!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words!!

My door...

is always open!! This card is for the CASE study challenge with Laura Bassen. Laura does some fabulous CAS cards with quite the "umph" and this has certainly stretched my natural inclinations!!

Burned off some more brain cells thinking about this one, LOL!! I went with the primary colors but, wanted to add a little "sumthin, sumthin" so I added texture to two of the banner tags (SU textile EF, Quikkutz dots EF) and stamped the other two with patterns from WMS Heirloom Patterns (designed by Anya Schrier). Added some black divine twine from The Cats Pajamas and a corduroy button from SU. Sentiment is from WMS Sewing Box Hugs, fitting with the house theme of Laura's card.

Here's the inspiration...

Phew... didn't get time to play this weekend so I'm glad I was able to squeeze this one in. Hope you're having a wonderful week.

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words and love to read them!!

ISSC07-- Happy Birthday!!

Good friday morning!! Another week... another I Spy sketch!! Did you enjoy last weeks' sketch... a little challenging...huh!! This week's sketch is based on a card created by Holly McMillan (Toy @ SCS) and is based on this card

Fell in LOVE with this Nina B set (Celebrating You) after gazing at it on both Jean Martins' (stampinscrapper) and Chupas' (Iwona Palomountain) blogs and just had to have it. Bought it at  the Craft's Meow and finally inked it up. Papers are MME Lost & Found Market Street (love those small rose images) along with SU papers. Yikes... I know that fuschia is a hybrid... colors worked. Sentiment is from Verve Small Phrases stamped on a MFT die from Mini Tabs Foursome and the doily is MFT's Doily die-namic.

Here's the sketch...

Bonne Fete

This weeks' Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge is one created by Renee. WMS recently released 9 new stamp sets... well, I can't have them all (although, sometimes my DH would disagree)... but, some fabulous ones came in the mail yesterday. I had been dreaming about roosters and chicken wire and had this idea in my head.... ran into some difficulties (when you have something in your head and can't totally translate it to paper) but, "soldiered" on and here it is

Here's the one without the "chicken feed" Used some of my fav colors and I have to say these sets stamp "like a dream". That's a French Country rooster wishing a "Happy Birthday"!! The metal netting is from Linda Coughlin (funkiejunkie on etsy).

Tried lots of "stuff" for the other frames and nothing was working out. Not sure this did either, LOL!! Added some Muddpuddles Malibu Beach sand (sis gifted me this a while back) for chicken feed. Here's the Rooster and chicken feed card...

Renee's sketch...

Tomorrow's Friday... Whoo Hoo... starts a long weekend. Also, my I Spy Sketch challenge will be up!!

TCPTUES200-- The Sky is the Limit

Finally had a chance to participate in a weekly TCP Tuesday challenge. This is their 200th sketch and.... stop by the TCP blog as there is a celebration going on and you could be a random winner of the whole next TCP release.

My card...

In keeping with my resolution this year to ink up stamps that have never seen ink... this image is from TCP's Away We Go. Alma (owner) has some of the most adorable bunnies with big ears... well, there are bears, penquins, and kitties too!! The image was stamped in memento tuxedo black, the balloon was paper pieced, and the basket was colored with copics. Stamped the bunny again and colored with copics and popped on top so that the ears "lift" a little. Used some dp from my stash... MME Fine & Dandy Tickled Pink which has a wonderful springy feel to it!! It was my first time making sponged clouds using a cloud die.... need a little practice. Added some SU ribbon in coral and island indigo, SU button, and some TCP divine twine. Sentiment was stamped on a flag from Lil Inkers Sentiment flag set.

Here's Leigh's sketch...

Hope you're having a wonderful Monday... my week is off to a start anyway!!

You're A Stitch...

First time I have played in Jen's Deconstructed Sketch and used the colors from the PDCC122 challenge... yellow, black, and gray. Fabulous sketch and colors!!

My card...

Used MFT's Sew Nifty Die-namics and stamp set. The sewing machine was stamped in basic gray and stamped off to get a lighter/darker effect. The doily is also from MFT. The yellow background was embossed with Quikkutz dots folder. Added some lace, paper pierced a little on the sentiment tag, and added a few pearls. Buttons are Stampin Up with yellow divine twine from TCP. Papers are Authentique Blissful, Stampin Up yellow, gray, and kraft.

Sketch..

Hope you're having a wonderful Sunday afternoon. Mine is laundry and a little stampin in between!!

ISSC06

Good Friday Morning!! Another weekly sketch for I Spy. I have to tell you this one "frazzled" my brain a little but, once I started thinking/playing.... it came together and was a lot of fun!! This week's sketch is based upon a card by Patter Cross here.

I decided to make a baby card using Verve's To The Moon and some new MME papers- Be Amazing. Now, I was a little lucky, I had a hexagon punch from my Creative Memories days so I didn't have to cut those out. Added some random stitching across the hexagons and straight along the bottom half circle on the nestie. Colored Emory with arms hanging over the edge and popped with foam dots. Paper pierced the outer egde to add a little something.

Here's the sketch..

Hope you play with us this week... this sketch is a little more straightforward than last week (LOL Kim!!) You can find more details at the I Spy Blog. The basis of the challenge is to "spy" a card in any online gallery or blog-- the sketch is created from the card chosen. The sketch will be posted Friday at 12:01 am (for time zones and early birds) and you have until noon the following Wednesday to create a card or project based on the sketch. THE Kim Teasdale will be picking the top 2 creations to be displayed on the "Top 2 Thursday" post.

Bonjour!!

Finished my Waltzingmouse sketch card... YEAH me!! Had something laid out and then got busy with bookclub/life and was able to get it done tonite!! This week Renee Lynch is the "hostess with the mostest" and designed the sketch.

My card...

I went a little "frou frou"- the background is stamped with a gorgeous image from WMS Victorian Frippery. Sponged a little SU pink pirouette to soften the bg. Layered a spellbinders labels 18 after stamping an outline stamp from WMS Vintage Labels 18 in versamark for a softer effect. Cameo image from WMS Cameo Maker was stamped in Graphite Brilliance Black onto SU pink pirouette on an embossed spellbinders oval and mounted on a spellbinders oval. Distressed some edges and added a sentiment from Victorian Frippery. My corners were made with a spellbinders die. Waltzingmouse Stamps connection here. You may wish I hadn't sent you there once you check it out.... there are some stamps that are fabulous!!

Here's Renee's sketch...

Tomorrow's Friday.... pop back for this weeks' I Spy sketch and links to play along!!

Happy!!

Yes'm I am. And I'm thinking this card celebrates that feeling!! (a little delusional, who knows?)

Quick and sweet... stamped a whole bunch of Verve flowers from Hope Blooms in SU River Rock (yes... I still have some ink/paper to play with) onto SU blue and pink, die cut with Verve's Floral Circles die... a whole bunch of snipping and those flowers blossomed!! Used the colors from Play Date Cafe and sketch from CPS. Sentiment is from WMS Say It Loud.

MY DD is on her way to Spring Break at Myrtle Beach... they are in the 70's and I'm trying not to panic (she's 19.... surely someone can feel my pain)!!!

Sketch....

Colors....

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words, will have my Waltzingmouse card up by Thursday and there's another I Spy sketch coming early Friday morn'!!

Birthday Wishes!!

The last week of the monthly Verve sketches has gone CAS... actually had this done and piddled to post and then, got busy and didn't have time.

Used Verve's Wordy Birds and did a little paper piecing. The label is Verve's Classy Label with a stamped image from Verve's Love Notes. Paper is MME Lost & Found Union Square. The tag was stamped with Versamark using Verve's Bountiful Backgrounds and heat embossed with clear, just wanted some more polka dots, LOL!! Here's the Verve link.

And Tosh's sketch...

Hope you're having a wonderful Sunday... me... recuperating from the "real" bowling Friday nite and cooking... Sunday is my cooking day... love it!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate when you stop by and love all the kind words!!

Life is Good!!

Happy Friday morn!! Yippee... I love fridays- a working girls' eve before vacation (you can be a 9 to 5er or you can be a stay at home mom with obligations and maybe hubs is around for more help on the WE)..anywho that's my life!!

Friday morning at my house brings a new I Spy sketch.... we are on week 5 now.

The sketch is based on DJRants card here. Love the flowers and colors on her card. Originally, I had a card ready to go but, needed this perfect little sentiment and it did get here in time (Verve quick shipping) but, I got a little paranoid last nite that something would come up and I wouldn't be able to finish so, I changed and made another one. Did a some experimenting with mists and mistable flowers....learned so, hopefully next time will work out better, LOL!!

My card....

Apologize for the pic taking... using Ott lights and not working well tonite. The sketch may appear to be a bit intimidating but, play with it...lay things out...experiment.... it will work!! When I did my "double take" and went in a different direction....flowers jumped right on that card---not surprising!! Made a couple loopy blooms with Lil Inkers loopy blooms die... so easy to use. Added a muslin/linen flower that was sprayed with Maya Mist and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist-topped off with SU champagne/gold mist. Sentiment is from Verve's Hope Blooms stamped on a tag flag from MFT's banner die-namics. Added some zig zag stitching and a SU black grosgrain bow. Ohhh.. the corner piece was embossed with the swiss dots CB folder.

The sketch...

You can find more details at the I Spy Blog.

Thanks for stopping by!! Appreciate all the kind words and hope you have an inky weekend--- I'm hoping for a little time!! Friday evening I'll be bowling... not the Wii kind... the use those muscles kind!!
