Warm Winter Wishes- CT266

Happy, Happy Wednesday!! This week's Color Throwdown challenge has Lori bringing some fabulous, I interpreted wintery colors :)

LOVE those acorns!!

Here's my card...

I've gone wintery on this one!! Used a couple new WPlus9 stamps sets/die combos.... Heartfelt Holiday and Silver Bells. The background was stamped with the wreath in Heartfelt Holiday in baked brown sugar and old olive (swear I own every SU color but, the Close to Cocoa has gone missing in action!) and added berries from Silver Bells. The leaves are also from Silver Bells- the rest is Heartfelt Holiday.

just BE- Mixed Media challenge

Yes, you read that right.... mixed media challenge!! Well, this is my first time trying to use mixed media-have been wanting to for forever but, just didn't have the time to watch the videos or traveling for work (a lot lately) soo- I finally tried it (without watching any videos- be easy on me, LOL!!)

I used the Mixed Media Color Challenge hosted by two of my blogging friends as a starting point.

Mona and Sue are mixed media experts.... I'm just experimenting!!

So, another blogging friend Broni used a Prima Doll stamp on her CTD card a couple weeks ago and I just had to have one. What did I do- started by using fibre paste and one of Mona's stencils (graduated dots) on the background, layered with gesso, and sponged on ink. I think I used two layers of gesso and ink sponging. Lastly added random stamping with MFT's Border It-Mod Borders and a sentiment from Verve's Words of Wisdom. My tan is the little pieces of trim I added to the top- may have a little too much white?

Had a lot of fun making this.... totally NEW to me and I think I need to take the time for some classes or videos :)

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

Give Thanks!!

I've been out of town for work.... honestly, wears me out but, that's okay!! Had a chance to play a little today (hubs is dusting..... yes, I am a lucky girl!!) This card is my last one for this month's Viva la Verve sketches on SCS. Anya created it and I just have to say I was stumped for a while, then as I was browsing challenges and browsing my Verve stamps... an idea popped up! It's on the fun side- hope you enjoy it!!

Stamped this adorable Verve turkey from Bountiful Harvest and colored with copics- straightforward coloring for the pop. The buttons are SU and stash as well as the twine. Don't you just love those black stripes-- makes him a bit distinguished!!

The sketch....

The colors... I know, they are Halloweenish- I just made them Thanksgivingish!! My mom and dad would be so PROUD of my English :)

CTD #265 - Remembering You!!

Happy Wednesday and welcome to the next group of colors for this week's Color Throwdown. These colors are brought to us by Joan!! Totally loving those birch trees... but, I had a bunch of fun playing with my new Verve goodies. I haven' played with these shades much but, I LOVE them together!!

The colors....

My card....

I stamped the large circle from Verve's Poppy Birthday stamp set in baked brown sugar, crisp cantaloupe, and pistachio pudding and then, over-stamped the circles/center with not quite navy. Makes a fun-kind of graphic background. Added banners using MFT's flag stax- the colored banners were stamped with a leaf from Verve's Bloom & Grow using versamark for a subtle pattern. The sentiment panel uses an oval nestabilitie, and Verve's Charming Oval and Mini Classy Label dies. Sentiment is from Poppy Birthday.

To the fun stuff...

Had a blast making this card!! Serendipity has a "whole lotta" fabulous sentiments and this one rings true for me right now!! twitterpated. love ya.

A sweet little card for my "honey"!! He's been busy making several trips to Ikea looking for this black tabletop for my craft room...it's been out of stock each time soo... now, he has a number and a waiting list. He also painted and hung my new ink pad holder today!!

I've used the sentiments from Verve's Twitterpated set but, I don't think I've inked up these adorable little cuties!! Also played with my new award banner die from Verve. The hearts were die cut with Verve's Wavy Hearts die. Julee has a whole lot of goodness and I believe there are some sales on right now. Check it out here.

Used Amy's week 3 sketch, yes... I tweaked it a little!! I've been known to do that once in a while :)

Hope you had a great WE... I'm getting ready to cook- wish I could say I was a gourmet cook but, my mom raised 5 children and I totally learned "down home" recipes! Ahh... good though!!

Vintage Tree- WMS PJ Party

Another challenge for the WMS PJ party!! I am apologizing in advance.... the pics are bad, really bad!! We have absolutely no sun today and I couldn't get my ott lights arranged to help. Maybe another day I can get a better pic!!
In Claire's words...."For this challenge we're looking for  old school spooky. Make a project to celebrate a vintage style Halloween. " Now I'm not sure if this is totally old school spooky but, I sure had fun making it.

I stamped the witch from the latest release in black and layered/popped onto a moon that I created with a nestie and sponged ink. This was attached to a lollipop stick that was sprinkled with black glitter. The shiny tree I bought at Michael's. For the ornaments I stamped a bunch of images from Halloween party and adhered to circles after attaching string between the layers. For this kind of project it's good to place an image on both sides of the circle. I added some "googly" eyes to a couple of the images.

Not sure if you can see but, even the little mouse came to the party!!

Hope you're having a great Saturday.... mine's pretty laid back. Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

Congrats to the BIG Cheese!!

Another card for the WMS PJ Party! THE challenge is.....  in Claire's words....."Let's have a challenge featuring lot's of black and white, clean cut geometric shapes and the pop can be whatever colour you choose - maybe red, or even gold?"

You don't have to ask me twice.... about using red... it's my fav color!!

I know... the DT have done cards with feathers.... Art Deco does love a little bling/feather.... but, I JUST had to do my own feather thing... I JUST had too....still makes me smile!! This set is so unique...I've made a couple other cards using the patterns from Art Deco backgrounds- one with black/white/blue and the other with several colors... oh the possibilities!!

Here's my inspiration...

Hope you're having a great Friday evening... I have my hubs working on a couple projects {new ink pad/re-inker- marker holder--- just painting and will need to hang this WE.... the other project is a new Ikea desk combo} Happy Girl!!

Here's the deets on the PJ party.... you have 24 hours to join in!!

Greenish Halloweenish- WMS PJ Party!!

Happy Friday... busy as a bee {or goblin} I have been!!

Claire at Waltzingmouse stamps is having a PJ party!! 'Kay I'm not in my PJs yet, although when I put them on... it could be a WE long PJ party at my house!! Ha... glad you aren't coming to visit?!?

One of the challenges is "greenish Halloweenish" and here's my card...

The challenge is....Make a card/project featuring Halloween and the colour Green. Eeeek.... is this Raven perfect or what!! A little vintage and creepy looking!! The Glitz Finnley papers are graphic but, this piece with the "dripping" green at the bottom - think claws. Ohhh. and if you don't have any "claw paper" you could use the Splat That set to make some!!

Christmas Wishes!!

Yes'm... this is three days in a row posting! My WPlus9 order came the other day and I was thrilled to get a chance to ink up some of the new goodies!! Played along with Chupa's Sketchbook Saturday challenge (two weeks in a row mind you!)

Soooo, Dawn's latest release is awesome!! Several sets along the lines of Fresh Cut Florals and I don't have any bells in my Christmas stamp repertoire. Used some older Christmas papers from Basic Gray I am TRYING to be a good steward of my supplies :) And, I think they worked perfectly here. Don't you just adore that sentiment!! Silver Bells and matching dies layered onto the Label Layers 3 die.
