I have this problem of always wanting my first layer to be white or ivory... not sure why? Looking at this card (posting) I think it would have been better to use the dp straight on the gray. No time to start all over so... I'll keep that in mind for the future. (Thinking out loud via computer... sorry!). Used some MME Indie Chic papers for the background. The banners were made using MFT's Flag Stax die-namics. The middle panel was made using Verve's A Cut Above Die- rounded rectangle, one in the orange/pink color and one in gray. Stamped the smallest bloom from Verve's Joyful blooms on the orange/pink panel in versamark. Sentiment is from Verve's Small Phrases. Added a seam binding bow (ribbon carousel), button (SU), and some halfback pearls from Pizzazzaplenty.
Here's the sketch...

Gorgeous ribbon!!
Love this card - your color combo is just pretty!
Vickie I have the same problem. I usually use vintage cream on my first layer too! I think it's because the light background brings out the colors of the rest of the images on the card. No need to start over here...this is just beautiful!
This is adorable, Vickie. Love the mix of patterned papers and the fun design. I personally love a white base, mainly because it eliminates the need to add another layer for me to write on inside. I really like the layers just the way you have them.
Very pretty Vickie! Love the mix of patterned paper and the beautiful bow!
Your card is so beautiful (and I love the white)! Wonderful colors so summery and pretty!
Hugs, Karin
Beautiful job!! I just love that big bow!!
OMG I love your card too. Thank you for your kind comments on my ispy card.
Super cute, I love all those papers together - that always makes a card super fun to me!
