Grand Symphony

Just received my new VIP kit from MFT and had some fun!! Layout is this week's sketch from the MFT forum on SCS and the MFT Guest Desginer challenge this month is to get die-mentional. Stamped an outline from the Framed Greetings die/stamp set and added a sentiment from the VIP kit, Musical Girl Mini {sorry, only available when the kit is released two weeks ahead of MFT's regular release} and popped on top. Pearl flourish came in the VIP kit also. Added rolled roses and mini rolled roses with a pearl in the center. Perfect bracket edge die was cut out in pink and embossed with my swiss dots folder. Stitched two panels in gray. Now, the flowers, pearls, sentiment panel all add some die-mension but, I also popped the whole panel on top of the base card for a little extra!!

A side view of the dimension....

TFL!! Hope you're having a great day. Me, I'm "getting stampy"!!

"Ewe Make Me Feel All Warm and Toasty"

I made this card a while back for a TCP Tuesday sketch challenge (#144) and didn't get it posted in time. You can find The Cats Pajamas challenges here and on their forum on SCS. This is a "shout out" to all my family and blogging friends that are still dealing with the snow and cold!! Love ya' all but, I'm sure glad I'm not dealing with it, hehehe!! I get paid back in the summer when it's over 100 degrees here along with the humidity and "nice and warm" there!!

This adorable sheep is from Sheepish and the sketch layout was TCPTues144. Used Echo Park Wintertime dp and cutouts. Stamped the image on white and colored face, legs, arms with copics. Paper pieced the scarf and pockets. Added some hearts from my nesties and TCP's heart dies {love these things, different shapes and styles}. Some TCP twine, a button, and flag tag finished it off.

TFL!! We've gpt a little cool weather this weekend (50's- yeah, I know that's not very cool) to 60's this weekend and the sun is shining!! If you stop by, leave a comment, love to hear from  you!!

You Make Me Smile!!

I have made cards for the last 3 Curtain Call Color Challenges and business at work and home have kept me from posting. Will post the other two at a later date but, this week I am on time... Whoo Hoo!! Stacey's Colors this week are Tempting Tuqoise, Tangerine Tango, Pear Pizzazz, and Whisper White. The pic shows fabulous candles. Definitely some spring colors, I'm thinking.

Pic...

My card....

Used some dp I've had for a while (SU pear pizzazz) and some new dp (Making Memories). Love the argyle next to the dots. MFT dainty doily border punch (one of my favs, what am I saying--I have LOTS of favs). Added white ribbon from SU and a new Prima flower. It is made of netting and material that is kind of like burlap but, softer, velvet type (first thought is corduroy) piece with a fabric covered button on top. Sentiment is from Verve's Love Notes (lots of versatile elements and sentiments in this set... check it out here).

TFL!!  Hope  you're having a great start to the weekend!! Me, I'm getting ready to meet my oldest (the bride girl) for dinner!! She's getting married next November, 11/11/11, how sweet!!?? Okay, it's a friday and has presented some challenges with all family living in the Midwest. It shall be okay... we have caterer (OMG... had a blast with that), photographer (absolutely sweet and on the same page with us), place (historic Southern plantation kinda house that is gorgeous), some of the table decorations and aisle decorations (okay, lots actually). At dusk so tealights on shepherd hooks for ceremony, and lots of twinkle lights around porch and columns). Oh, cake and it will be gorgeous, Dominica makes the most absolutely "real" sugar flowers, not a lot but, strategically placed and gorgeous fall colors. Frou Frou ( I wasn't "frou frou" when I got married a long time ago so, it's interesting the different generations) Dress is bought and hanging in my "guest room" along with a bunch of other stuff--- needs to be called the wedding room for the next year!! LOL!!

Good Lord, I am rambling here. It's like the wedding checklist. Believe me if you have a girl, you'll be doing it someday yourself!! LOL!!

Ingredients
Stamps: Verve Love Notes
Paper: white, turqoise, tangerine tango, MM dp, SU dp
Ink: black
Accessories: MFT dainty doily border die-namic, Prima flower, SU ribbon,

Stamped the image from Spring Rain onto white, colored with copics and cut out. Stamped the umbrella again on dp and cut out and layered. Jacket is paper pieced. Added horizontal trim panels cut with the Apron and Big Scallop dies. Did a little stitching, added button with divine twine.

Yikes... no sentiment on the front of my card??

This card is for Jen's SFYTT for the month of February. Now, normally I have a sentiment on the front and my title comes from that or something similar.... no go today!!! This card started out with Jen's layout and some chipboard elements from the same line... Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 and then, I wondered if I had stamps similar to the chipboard elements to substitute... thus, the card you see. So Saffron circle uses a Waltzing Mouse stamp that is nestie compatible "Vintage Small Circles", then, stamped a fleur from Verve's Accent Notes and heat embossed with clear {needed to stand out more}, on top of that is a flower punched with SU's Itty Bitty punches with a black rhinestone {popped and layered}. Added SU black grosgrain ribbon and buttons with some wonderfully divine, Divine Twine from The Cats Pajamas. Buttons are SU.

Jen's sketch....

My card....

Yum!

MFT has a weekly sketch challenge on SCS and this week is #7. I have been working on inking all of my uninked stamps, slowly but, surely {shameful, I know}. This PI is a cutie- called Lollypop-- name fits perfectly. Paper pieced the dress and colored everything else with copics.

Here she is...

Did this card quickly {for me anyway} as my family/friends kept me really busy this weekend. Looking back those lines of pearls would have looked better on the bottom of the ribbon.... oh well.

Sentiment is from Woody Birds. Lastly a MFT sun with the top circle embossed with swiss dots was added.

The Appearance of Cameos

Moxie Fab has a challenge to use cameos. These have become very popular and sadly I must admit I have had some Cameos from Websters Pages for a while and not used then. Decided this would be the perfect time. Patterned paper is from Graphic 45's Once Upon a Springtime along with kraft and some distressing. Yellow lace and green pleated ribbon from Websters Pages. Pink ribbon from MFT. Added a couple trinket pins from Maya Road.

Not sure the pink ribbon was a "little" too much but, it highlights the gorgeous cameo so well.

Stamps: none
Paper: Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime, crumbcake
Ink: none
Accessories: Websters Pages cameo, trim, and pleated ribbon, MFT ribbon, Maya Road trinket pins

You're In My Thoughts

I ADORE Stacey's colors this week for the Curtain Call Color Challenge with all those gorgeous flowers!!!! Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White and Wild Wasabi. Also, Verve's week 2 sketch by Amy Sheffer was still on my mind...

Used the fleur {that's what I call it, Julee probably has a better name} from Verve's Accent Notes to stamp a background.. Melon Mambo on Pink Pirouette with some of the images faded for a softer vintage look. Used swiss dots CB embossing folder on the pink pirouette panel and left the melon mambo blank. Added some lace trim from Websters Pages and kiwi kiss satin ribbon on top {yes, the color is Wild Wasabi but, if you notice it matches closey to the leaves in Wild Wasabi}. Used Verve's Vintage Oval Die and Stamp with a sentiment from Amazing Wishes along with leaves, Prima flowers, and SU pearls.

Inspiration pic.... and sketch...

TFL!!

PS Marissa- if you stop by, I didn't like my first card so much and YOU can do skewed panels- just make a couple panels the same and tilt the one on top with your eyes closed!!!

Believe in Miracles...

Well, I do. I'm a nurse and I have seen plenty of things that I would call a miracle!! Anyway.. Verve has weekly sketches on their forum at SCS and this is for week 1. My blogging friends Andrea and Wanda used this dp... of course, since I fell in Love with it and I AM seriously easily enabled... had to get some myself. One of the patterns has fairies... now, I don't necessarily believe there are fairies, I do believe in angels. Why, you ask {non-believers out there, LOL!!} because I want to!! I also work at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte- in the national news a while back with photos of what appeared to be an angel in the doorway of a child's room. So I thought Verve's sentiment "Believe in Miracles" fit the dp. This set originally was for Breast Cancer Awareness month and now, I am involved in research so, it was a must have for me... well, all of Verve's stamps are "must haves" for me, LOL!!

Enough of that... here's the card

TFL!! Appreciate when you stop and all your kind words!!

Ingredients
Stamps: Verve Believe and Love Notes (border and dots on the die)
Paper: Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime, vanilla, crumbcake
Ink: early espresso, chocolate chip

Birthday Girl

MFT's weekly stamp club challenge is doing sketches this year!! You can check it out on their blog or in their forum on SCS. Love sketches as most of the time I use these as a starting point. Original card I made, I flipped the sketch 90 degrees but, sentiment didn't work. On this one, I still put the sentiment in the bottom left corner instead of next to the bow but, I think it worked best there. Image is one of MFT's  Al la Modes {starting to love these as much as the PIs}!!! This one is aptly named Birthday Girl. She was stamped in memento tuxedo black and colored with copics. Added tiny pearls for her necklace. Cupcake colored with copics and added liquid applique for the frosting... yum!! Added pink pearls along the border and square panel.

TFL!! Love when you stop by and leave comments, love reading them!!

Stamps: My Favorite Things Al la Mode Birthday Girl
Paper: dp??, cherry cobbler, vanilla
Ink: memento tuxedo black, copics
Accessories: MFT large scallop die-namic, MFT perfect bracket edge die-namic, MFT ribbon, oval and scallop oval punch SU, liquid applique, white and pink half pearls from Pizzazzaplenty

You know I love you, I'll always be true, so pleeeease, Love Me Do!! {singing in my best Beatles voice, LOL, I can't carry a tune!!} Yikes... showing my age a little??? Made a Valentiney's Day Card using Verve's Love Notes. Julee's got a sale going on, so you need to go check it out. Used Amy's sketch from the weekly Verve sketches on SCS and some yummy dp from My Minds Eye called Je t'adore, love this stuff!! Used the colors {pinks, vanilla, red but, I have pomegranate going on here}, Valentines {heart},  and scalloped box border {scalloped punch under sentiment} from the inspiration pic.

TFL!! Gorgeous weather going on here... have family in the Midwest and they are dealing with a couple foot of snow {live a little south of Chicago}. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!!
