For You!!!

Things are getting a little busy at my house.... my youngest turns 19 tomorrow and is she "being special"... absolutely!! At my house... anyone's B-Day is special.... KWIM... it's the day you were born and brought JOY into the rest of the family. OKAY.... 19.... there have been moments of non-Joy, but, only fleeting!!! On top of that, just spoke with my little brother {that is the youngest of five, the other four older siblings are girls... can you imagine!!} and he is out Celebrating with my sister and his wife... Joanna!!

Enough of the gab {little sentimental here, hard to believe my littlest- is that a word?? has hit the big 1-9}. I did make a card for this weeks Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge...

My sis sent me a XMAS card yesterday (SU demonstrator) that was fabulous!! Had every intention of posting it here as it was the inspiration for this card and life got in the way. She used the same colors and SU Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.  I'm still playing with Nutcracker Sweet from Waltzingmouse Stamps... image stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on vanilla and heat embossed with a mixture of clear and glitter {pic doesn't show the glitter} and layered on a Waltzingmouse Stamps Vintage Labels No. 10 added some crochet lace and the big ole' bodacious bow!!

Here's the sketch...

TFL!! Enjoy when you stop by and appreciate all the kind words!! Busy time of  year but, also full of love/family/friends!!

PS....Dang, the embossing in black doesn't show up, sorry 'cause it is a gorgeous EF from SU!!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Merry Christmas!!! {bellowed in my deepest voice} Made an ornament using Waltzingmouse Stamps {recent delivery at my house... Oh Happy Day!!} for the WMS sketch challenge this week and Claire has a contest on the WMS blog!! Now, honestly I LOVE my WMS stamps but, the weekly sketch challenge has a random draw for a free, Yes that's what I said- FREE WMS set and the tag contest on the blog- for a little Christmas Cheer is a random drawing for 4 stamps sets!!

I didn't have any WMS Xmas stamps- until this week of course- and one of my favs included a silhouette Santa complete with a pipe!! Here's my "diddy"

I went oval as I think it sets off the image!! That gorgeous Santa image is from Santa's Coming To Town and the sentiment is from Nutcracker Sweet. Used Authentique Wonder papers and my scallop is the crochet lace and pleated ribbon. Added a couple buttons and some Jingle Bells!!

Here's the sketch-- I went oval for the image!!

No Peeking!!

Wanted to play in the The Cats Pajamas challenge this week.... it's been a looong time!! Although I have made cards for a couple challenges from last month {I think it was November, could've been October??} AND, I totally "messed up"!! I thought the challenge was to add "shine" to your card and it was actually to add "shiny embellishments"..... well, I hope the CAT police aren't out there, LOL!!

Colors are from the Color Throwdown 170 and sketch is from SCS 361. Started out with the colors and wanted to use this paper from Crate Paper so things got a little bit busy. Thought I was going to use a bunny from TCP's latest release and glittery snowflakes but, tonight when I got home--- ended up with the darling Bear from TCP's Peeking set and just LOVE it!! My glitter embellishment {bows are embellishments on presents, right!!} is the bow.

TFL!! I really should be working on Xmas right now but, with the wedding.... I've been deprived and I'm trying to feed my addiction a little!! Appreciate when you stop by and love reading all the comments!!

Butterflies

Made another week of the MFT sketch challenges.... even a day early.... whoohoo for me!! Used MFT's Inspired by Butterflies. The image was stamped in early espresso onto watercolor cardstock and heat embossed with clear. Watercolored with dusty durango, tangerine tango, and daffodil delight, cut out and popped on top of some pretty crinkled ribbon. Papers are from Authentique's Blissful collection. Sentiment was masked a couple of times to fit into the layered MFT dies.

Hope you've been having a wonderful weekend!! Last night we celebrated one of those milestones with a good friend...50!! Had a lot of fun and spent some time with friends from the "old" neighborhood!! Now, I just need to get the tree up, do some Xmas shopping... you know, all those things I should've had done by now!!

TFL!! Love when you stop by and appreciate all the kind words!!

Heartfelt Thanks!!

Definitely back to stampin' a little!! This card is for the MFT weekly sketch challenge.... haven't played in eons!! Had some fun inking up an older Claire Keay set... not sure why I got a little "wild" with the colors but, could have been stampin'/copic withdrawal, hehehe!!

Added some lace, buttons {including nekked ones}, vanilla stain ribbon, MFT's medium scallop die on the tag, ohhh... the tag is from MFT too.... PERFECT....and brads!! Sentiment is stamped on the "outside" of the MFT ticket die... see, both sides work well.

Doesn't she remind you of one of your little ones.... playing in the snow so long that you just throw whatever you have on them to keep them warm??

TFL!! Hope you're starting off to a wonderful week. Thanks for stopping by and appreciate all the kind words!!

Love Bird Tree- Diva Dare

This month Verve's Diva Dare is to make something homemade.... can be a card, ornament, banner.... whatever your heart desires!! Well, prior to Verve's last release I had this idea based upon a crepe paper tree I saw in my latest issue of PaperCrafts magazine. Believe the idea may have been better (in my mind!!) than the results.... ever have one of those days?? I never had time to make it as company for the wedding came a little early (planned on Thursday and we had family here on Tuesday and more on Wednesday)!! Now, don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing everyone...just thought I had a couple extra stamping days!!

Had a heck of a time getting a pic!! The styrofoam tree was covered in blue crepe paper using sticky tape to pleat and adhere in layers, starting at the bottom. Added a star cut out with a nestabilitie and covered in silver glass glitter. Stamped the Love Birds from Verve's Bright Spirits with versamark and heat embossed with silver, colored with copics, and cut out using Verve's Love Birds die. Added a cream bow.

Awfully glad to have the wedding and most of renovations done, back to a little stampin, FINALLY!! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving (if you live in the states) and a great weekend!!

Thanks for stopping by and appreciate all the kind words.

Verve Holiday Spotlight Hop- Day Three

Welcome back to Day 3 of Verve's Holiday Spotlight Hop!! Are you lovin' everything you've seen so far, I imagine so!! Today brings another group of fabulous sets and dies created by the Supreme Diva, Julee Tillman. Just LOVE how everything mixes and matches, with new and old sets. My first project uses the Santa's Helper set and I made a couple "gifty" bags.

Aren't they adorable?!?! Those sweet reindeer were stamped, colored with copics, paper pieced his/her hat, added a little rhinestone and popped onto oval nestabilities. The bags were made with Stampin Up's Fancy Favor die. Added a little ribbon and some of those "infamous" jingle bells- yes, I found mine. The sentiment is from Santas Helper and it was stamped on a Charming Oval die.

Here's a close up of one of the bags.

I also have a card for you that I made using the Snowflake Tidings die and Verve's Glad Tidings set. Honestly, just wait till you see the full reveal of all of the dies....they can be used with so many of Julee's sets!! For this card, I made a pocket/tag combo as the center piece. The tag was made with Verve's Sweet Scallop die and added a little seam binding/twine/pearl. The snowflakes were stamped with crumbcake, one stamped off, and cut with the new Snowflake Tidings die {absolutely perfect} - some gold pearls in the centers.

Here's the hop list for today.

Verve Holiday Spotlight Hop- Day Two

Welcome to our Holiday Spotlight Hops!  Hop along with the Divas over the next few days as we share our first looks at a few of the new products releasing from Verve this Friday night!  Whoohoo!! Today the Divas and a few Guest Divas are spotlighting Bright Spirits, Winter Tree PJ,  Winter Fun Die Set, and Love Birds Die Set.

Bright Spirits is a large set with several images and sentiments in Julee's trademark fonts...happy sigh!! First up is a set of tags {just had to make tags in honor of my Guest DT win that was a set of tags!!}
Close up of one of the tags...

I stamped two of the images onto whisper white, colored with copics, and cut out. The circle tag was cut with a nestabilitie die and thin cardboard, layered with dp. Added some strips of dp/lace/ribbon and stitching. Clear rhinestones on the images added a little bling.

I also made a card using the Winter Tree PJ and the Winter Fun die set. Kept this one pretty CAS. The lillybee paper was torn to create a little hill and popped some trees on top. The cardboard tree was made using the Winter Fun die set and the green trees were stamped with the PJ image and then, cut with the Winter Fun die set. Star was also made using the Winter Fun Die Set.

I'm a little frazzled at my house... company coming in for the wedding, all those last minute "to dos" and I forgot to say "hey" to Wanda and Gretchen... isn't this fun!! And to Julee and the other Divas.... thanks for letting me join you this month!!

Here's the master hop list. One lucky commenter from each day's hop will win the sets and dies featured that day, so be sure and leave a little love in the Divasphere! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize details and deadlines.

Thanks for taking a peek and enjoy all the "eye candy" while you're hopping!!

Verve Holiday Spotlights- Day 1

Welcome to our Holiday Spotlight Hops!  Hop along with the Divas over the next few days as we share our first looks at a few of the new products releasing from Verve this Friday night!  Whoohoo!! The day is finally here and let me say, Julee has a fabulous release {well, she always has fabulous releases}!! Today the Divas and a few Guest Divas {lucky me!!} are spotlighting four new Plain Janes and one new A Cut Above Die, Cross Set. I made a couple cards using the Jeremiah 33:3 Plain Jane and the Cross A Cut Above Die.

My first card uses the Cross A Cut Above Die paired with Verve's Richly Blessed. If you are new to Verve stamps, Julee always creates sets that mix and match with older sets, as well as the new ones, wonderful, huh!! Sentiment was stamped on a circle nestabilitie and mounted on two Fleur de Lis accents, distressed with ink and popped up for a little dimension. The cross image was stamped in Cherry Cobbler and cut out with Verve's Cross Die set. Added a little bling, lace, crinkly ribbon, and twine.

The next card uses the Jeremiah 33:3 Plain Jane. The sentiment was stamped on the Verve Classy Label- A Cut Above Die, heat embossed with clear, and layered on an embossed oval nestabilitie. Added some crinkly ribbon, a rose, and a couple stickpins {one with gold to add a little color}.

Here's the full hop list for today and remember, One lucky commenter from each day's hop will win the sets and dies featured that day, so be sure and leave a little love in the Divasphere! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize details and deadlines.

Hello Friend!!

Snuck a little stamping in and made a card using last week's sketch by Diva Moe on SCS. You can find the challenge here. Participate in each of the monthly/weekly sketches to win some Verve!! Can't get any better than that. Used the colors from the CR84FN40, brown, kraft and red, gorgeous!!

My card...

Used some MME Lost & Found dp {have bunches from this line and have been limited on stamping time so, starting to enjoy it!!} Cut our several floral circles from Verve's Floral Circles, A Cut Above Dies, and layered on a corrugate Jillibean flower. Added crinkled ribbon and twine. Sentiment, from Verve's Hope Blooms, is stamped in early espresso onto a circle nestie and layered on another circle nestie. Border was made with MFT's doily border die.

The colors....

Moe's sketch....

Today's Monday and all is well so far!! Hope this week is a good one for you. If you stop by, leave a comment, I enjoy reading them and appreciate all the kind words!!

Scary Sweets

This week the Waltzingmouse sketch challenge is a tag. Some new goodies came in the mail the other day and in celebration of Halloween.... I made a little treat bag and tag.

Close-up of the tag....

Cut a large circle nestie out of chipboard and layered in black cardstock and Mischievous dp by MME. Added some zigzag stitching. Stamped the witch from WMS Halloween Party in black and heat embossed with clear. Layers of pleated ribbon, black lace gathered, and crochet trim to the bottom. Sentiment on the tag is from Halloween Party, too. Added a button/twine combo. Attached to the bag with a clothespin with a glittered black star.

Pics done in the dark this early Friday am so not the greatest, sorry!!

Have a wonderful Friday and weekend, too!! I'll be painting {hopefully a little stampin too!!}

TFL!! Appreciate all the kind words!!

With Gratitude...

Had a moment to make a card and I've been missing my MFT sketch challenges ( one of my fav weekly's) and I had this little girl inked, colored, and pieced so I flipped the sketch and finished!!

Used some Authentique Glowing (love this stuff) for the patterned papers. PI is from MFT Lil' Pumpkin and she is colored with copics and paper pieced and layered on a MFT die-namic. Pumpkin and shoes are shiny with crystal effects. Added some rhinestones to her Mary Janes while the CE was wet. A big ole' twill bow finishes it off!!

Yes, I even flipped the sketch for you, LOL!!

Hope you had a great weekend... I'm still in the "throes" of wedding and renovations!! Found fabric and an upholstery shop for dining room chairs and a couple victorian chairs that need a little love!! Painting...painting...painting!! Honestly, nothing like a wedding to motivate!!

I'm looking forward to everything being done so, I can squirrel myself in my "room"!!

TFL!! Appreciate all the kind words!!

Love You!!

Working on my weekly challenges that a love, whilst on a break from wedding and renos!! This card is for Verve's week 3 sketch on SCS. Bought some MME papers a while back and they have been sitting and patiently waiting for me, LOL!!

My card...

Stamped verse from Verve's Text Objects on the circle nestie and mounted on a scallop circle nestie. Layered MME's Lost 7 Found Market Street papers, distressed and inked the edges with vintage linen, and stitched a little. Added crinkly ribbon, Websters Pages sprinkler, and a Tiny Sweet Scallop die from Verve's A Cut Above Dies {seriously this is a sah...weeet little die!!} Stamped the "Love You" from Verve's Tag Time. The outline on the smallest Tiny Sweet Scallop die is from Tag Time also. The scallop border was made with SU's scallop die and "pulled" up with my fingers to add some dimension.

Tosha's sketch...

TFL!! Hope you're having a great Saturday!! We've had rain off and on for several days now and we certainly needed it!! Perfect cleaning and stamping time!!

Appreciate when you stop by and love to read all your sweet comments!!

Halloween Greetings!!

Yep... we're getting close to the time of goblins and witches!! I have always been a little partial to the Halloween holiday... always fun to dress up and "act out"!! Is the prelude to fall IMHO, not sure why but, it's the way it is at my house!! So, for this months' Waltzingmouse sketch challenge... had to use some Hallows' Eve stamps!! Ended up just using sentiments from Cicely At Halloween but, the images are "begging" to be inked up too!! And.... Clare has a few other fabulous Hallows Eve stamps {along with many others, I might add}, one just released, Hocus Pocus which is on its' way to my house!!
My card....

Let the paper do the talking here. Used MME Mischievous dp {that owl is adorable} and added black pearls for his eyes and some twinkles in the corner {a little night sky}. Sentiment was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white to make it "pop" on the black labels 18 nestie. The other sentiment was added to the inside.... it's a good one!!

Is that paper not fabulous!!!! Today is Friday eve {as Amy Wanford, aka Aimes would say....I'm so looking forward to Friday so, that this is what popped in my mind!!}

Anya's sketch...

TFL!! Love when you stop by and appreciate all the kind words!!

The 'boy" or "Bubba".... TMI, right!! Well, anywho, he took over going to the granite place and picking out the granite that will be used for our counter tops in the kitchen. I believe, it was a little bit of a project as  slabs are layered and they have to use some type of "mover" {the boy/manly man, hehehe, said forklift} with a claw at the top, beeps when you back up {okay don't know the name of the machine!!} to pick them up and move them so you can see each slab and he had to look at a couple groups but, found two slabs that were cut in sequence {seam thoughts} with no flaws!! ) Phew... counter template next Tuesday... cut granite and install!! Still need an upholsterer for some furniture and dining room chairs. Last night was all about the center pieces for the wedding tables and reviewing the list of wedding things to do... "have boys, I say, have boys!!!" Honestly, I talk too much... sorry!!

Thursday, September 15, 2011

Best Wishes!!

WMS sketch challenge and CR84FN color challenge combined. Have been piddlin' a little with this over time and finally finished!! Yeah, yeah, that's in between running to granite showrooms and granite warehouses.... what a dang project!! Still have some upholstery work and laundry/BR floors and painting to do. Honestly, we want it done by the wedding and even with contracting most of it.... it's a project!!

Colors are pink, black, and gray.... fabulous colors!! The sketch... honestly... intimidated me a little {okay, a lot!!} WMS leaves the sketch basic so it can be interpreted lots of ways. I'm just so literal... I know-"get over it".

My card...

Stamped those gorgeous large WMS doilies in melon mambo on white, die cut circle nesties in gray and stamped the reverse dots from WMS in Versamark, adhered, and cut to fit. Added some black stitching, a crinoline flower {from Linda the funkiejunkie on etsy} and black rhinestone in the center. Sentiment is from WMS Fancy Phrases stamped on a WMS Bitty Banner, cut out and popped up.

Here's the colors and sketch....

TGIF!! I know, this is my same old "mantra" but, busy goings on here and I look forward to a "later" morning on the weekend!! Thought I was stampin' tomorrow nite but, Ms. Maddie is performing at half-time and we will be there!! Now, DD said "Outback" is providing food as the highschool doesn't do a concession stand... really??? This could be interesting.... definitely not what I grew up with!!

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

Thank You

Feel Thankful for lots of things... least of which is 2 cards posted in a row!! Starting to get a little consistent stampin time and lovin' it!! This card is for this weeks' CASE study challenge. The MUSE this month is Julie Lacey... Fabulous layouts with perfect composition and combo of embellies.

My card....

Went with the general layout.... changed colors and stitching along with sentiment/main panel. Used the lace/ribbon/flower combo but, used lace with crinkled ribbon. Have had these PTI stamps and die for a bit and no time.

Julie's fabulous card...

TFL!! I'm so HAPPY, I even have a couple cards in the works.... I know you understand... if you're here, you're addicted like me and these renovations have been slowing down my playing time!!

Ingredients
Stamps: PTI Mat Stack 1 collection
Paper: Crate Paper Portrait, crumbcake, vanilla
Ink: melon mambo, soft suede
Accessories: crinkled ribbon { either MemrieMare or Pixiepetals on Etsy- sorry can't remember}, Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, lace

Just Be

In between painting and looking at granite... I managed to get one card done this weekend {used to doing several over the weekend when I am off... soon the renovations will be done, YEAH!!} This card is for the Verve weekly sketch on SCS... this week it's Amber's -- long and slender. Colors are from the Play Date Cafe challenge... teal, brown, and mustard-- PDCC98.

Used MME Hattie papers {perfect for the colors} and added some sprigs from Verve's Sunny Days set which were cut out with Verve's A Cut Above Leafy Sprigs die. Flowers used a Verve image from Sunny Days stamped in early espresso on early espresso cs and taken with teal on taken with teal cs and then clear embossed and layered after scrunching a little. For the middle tag, I used the grid image from Verve's Tag Time and cut out with Verve's Tagged Rectangle die, added a grommet and some early espresson ribbon. Sentiment from Verve's Words of Wisdom was stamped in early espresso. Phew.... lot's of new Verve going on here!!

The colors and sketch....

Playing with a new camera... hoping it will help with evening pics. It's "dang" hard to take a pic of a long card or is it just me!!

Happy Monday!! Love when you stop by and appreciate all the kind words!! Hoping to get caught up blogging this week.... that DH of mine is a "slave driver" when it comes to renovations and getting it done, hehehe!!

Vroom... Vroom...

This week's Waltzingmouse sketch challenge is a wonderful sketch by Anya Schrier. Happy mail came the other day in the form of some new WMS stamps. So I veered a little from my norm and did a "neuter" card. Could be used male or female and on the CAS side for me. Used an image from WMS Half Pint Heroes and colored with copics.

I could pretend that is me.... have a black mustang convertible {my 50 year itch} although, this image looks more like a "beetle" and I have short hair but, definitely not curly, LOL!! Drove minivans for years {carting kids and friends to dance competitions and the like} so, when I hit the big 5-0, it was all about me {for a moment anyway, LOL!!}. First time coloring with all grays and need a little experience but, not too bad for a first try. Added crystal effects to the headlight/taillight and windshield, stitching, and brads. Fussy cut the image and popped on top.

Here's Anyas' sketch.... {very versatile and one to keep for future reference!!}

TFL!! Tomorrow is friday. Painters coming this weekend and we have plans to be out of the house {going to the granite store, maybe lunch, delivering some wedding invitations personally, and....??? Definitely will have to think of something!!}

Thanks for stopping by, hope you are having a wonderful week with lots of love and laughter!!

Never too Old to Dream....

Hah... Mark Twain is a man after my own heart, LOL!! Sentiment is from Verve's Words of Wisdom {lovin' this set} and was stamped in crumbcake on white cs and heat embossed with clear. Colors are for the CR84FN challenge 37 and used last weeks sketch on SCS. CR84FN colors are light blue, turqoise, neutral. Lilly Bee Picket fence papers were distressed and sewn and layered. Added a prima net flower, lace border, and some crumbcake seam binding.

Ya' know... it never fails. When you have a lot going on... there's always one more thing. Dishwasher wouldn't work this past weekend and my "handy" DH tried to get it going himself. Had to come home today to meet the GE man and it was a quick fix {he talked about taking apart the front and replacing the computer board... thank goodness it was lots easier than that!!}. The thing was full, really really full, of dishes and I was so thankful I didn't have to unload it!!

Hope you're having a great week and thanks for stopping by. Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!
