Color Throwdown #473

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by Broni!!

This week we're playing with pink, green, kraft, and white.

This week I played with a few of my goodies from Neat and Tangled. The background was created with a stencil and distress oxide inks (Picked Raspberry and Lucky Clover). After sponging the inks through the stencil, I sprayed with water (that's why you see a tinge of purple in there-sorry!!)

Color Throwdown #472

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by Barbara!!

This week we're playing with red, gray, and black. And... I had to play with another Essentials by Ellen Hutson I bought last year and never inked up!!

I used the Ugly Sweater and Sweater Words & Appliques to make my card. The sweater and Santa were stamped and then colored with copics. After everything was colored the sweater background looked a little bland so I added some "stars" with a white gel pen. The open hole border is from Verve.

Serendipity Stamps Blog Hop #1- December

Oh my word.... It's December... Did  you have a great Thanksgiving and are you getting ready for Christmas??? Me, I can't believe it's almost here!!

It's time for the Serendipity Stamps Blog Hop! We're changing it up this year- there will be two hops each month as usual and there will be opportunities to win $ to purchase Serendipity Stamps. The design team will be showing you the latest products and offering a chance for you to win some goodies from Serendipity Stamps.

You should have arrived here from Julie Warner's blog but, if you got lost along the way I have a full list below.

For today, it's all about winter [again :-)] brrr...

I decided to use the Tall Trees- Medium and Small in who different kinds of cards. The first is a traditional Christmas card- with my first "bells" of season!! The Joy die was cut three times, layered, and popped up with microfoam dots for a little dimension.

In the close up, you can see the detail of the ground around the trees- Love!!

For my second card, I used the Tall Tress for a Thank-You card. Versatile for the season- nontraditional season colors but, you may have a few "Thank Yous" to send after the holidays.

For the sun, I used Serendipity's Retro Starburst Cling set- fun, huh!! I wanted to show that the set can be versatile and not just for graphic cards.

Looking for some awesome inspiration?

AND... there are always prizes. One random comment along the hop will receive a $20 gift code to the Serendipity Stamps store. You have from today until Sunday to leave your comments. Mary will announce the winner on the Serendipity Stamps blog on Monday!!

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by Amy Rysavvy!!

This week we're playing with black, white, gray, and gold!! Lots of sparkle (at least on my card)!!

I played with some PTI Retro ornaments!! Interpreted that gray as silver (it works). Die cut the ornaments, stamped the "decoration" for them in versamark and heat embossed with gold and silver embossing powder. Love that sentiment!!

I played with one of my fav Julie Ebersole Essentials by Ellen Hutson using this week's Freshly Made Sketch...

Ellen Hutson is celebrating their 11th Anniversay... Wow...

So their challenge is to use your favorite Essentials by Ellen set.... this happens to be one of my favs (and fits the season!) I love this Santa... he has a bit of modern flare or maybe a little quirky but, I LOVE it!!

This card was created using the Branch die which was die cut in black and the Birds Looking Up die also die cut in black. The background is a wood embossing folder that I sponged with gray ink. The Winter die, from the Seasons die set, was cut three times using black, gray, and white- layered "off set" a little to show all three colors.

Here's a little close up of one of the birds and the Winter die.

Here's my next card....

This card was also created using a set from a new illustrator at Serendipity Stamps... isn't that font fun!! This For Unto Us set comes with the one Nativity image and several sentiments that coordinate.

Love the season but, not the cold!!!

Color Throwdown #468

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by Lynn!!

We're playing with brown, orange, green, and kraft this week!! Perfect for this time of year, right!!

So, I created this sweet little scene using MFT's Happy Hedgehogs stamps and matching die-namics. The images were stamped onto PTI Select white cardstock and color with copics. Added a green border around the image using Blueprints 32. Some of the images were "popped up" with foam for added dimension. The grass was done "free hand".

Some inspiration...

Tag You're It Challenge

Happy Sunday Evening! I've had a great day... hoping you did too!! And, a great day at my house is relaxing and getting a bit of time to stamp!!

I had a chance to play in the current Tag You're It challenge.... don't you just love making tags, I know I do!! Ha... the hard part is giving them away!! Isn't that awful- I just little works of art!!

Here's the inspiration....

Here's my sweet little tag...

As you can see I went with the colors and the swag at the top. The images/sentiment are from Waltzingmouse Stamps. I have to say these are some of my favorites. Claire had to close the shop a while ago but, I have been thinking I needed to pull some out to play. Claire is now with Gina K. designs and some of her images are being sold there.

Thanks for stopping by and appreciate all the kind words!!

Hugs, Vickie!!

MFT Card Challenge

Happy, Happy Sunday Evening!! I had a little time to play today and made a card for two challenges!!

Starting to play with the winter stamps...

I stamped this sweet penguin and tree, colored with copics and die cut with the coordinating dies. MFT Chill Wishes. The pennant was die cut with Blueprints 13 using patterned paper from MFT's Tranquil Textures pack, The sentiment was stamped onto MFT's Oval Word Window frames. I chose to use a half oval (MFT's Stitched Dome Stax) rather than the square as shown in the sketch.

Color Throwdown #467

Good Morning- Happy, Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another set of colors at the Color Throwdown!! This week the colors were chosen by Lori!!

We're playing with teal, green, and red. So, I tried something new!!

Yana created this fabulous card (yes, it's gorgeous- watch the video!) using pencils on black card stock and i have been wanting to try my hand at that. Okay... I think it takes a bit more practice and a knowledge base of coloring on black cardstock... the colors can end up being a bit different- my blue is more blue than teal and red is a "bugger" to get to cover black!!

I stamped Altenew's Sketched Flowers onto black cardstock with versamark and heat embossed with gold. Next, came the coloring. I have Derwent Inktense pencils which are vibrant colors but, the card stock seemed to "soak up" the colors and I had to let it dry in between and then re-color. Yes, I was a newbie at this!!

Some inspiration...

Tara Chaussee, Guest Star Stamper - Secret Bee's Studio

Serendipity Stamps Blog Hop- November!!

Oh my word.... It's November... are you getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas??? Me, I can't believe it's almost here!!

You should have arrived here from Julie's blog but, if you got lost along the way I have a full list below.

For today, it's all about winter, brrr...

Love the season but, not the cold!!!

There is a new illustrator at Serendipity Stamps... isn't that font fun!! I die cut an oval with Cherry Lynn dies (Mary carries an assortment in her shop) for the sentiment- Happy Holidays set. In the meantime, I traced the next smallest oval onto my white cardstock (to give me an idea of the space to stamp the florals). Colored with copics and added a little patterned paper and twine.

Here's a close up of the sentiment and greenery!

For my next card, I used the Snowballs Reverse die and created a stencil. This was laid over the top of some blue paper that was sponged with Distress inks. Once the stencil was in place over the blue card stock and secured with washi tape, I added some white modeling paste to make my snow. Stamped that sweet Snowman on Skis image, colored with copics, and fussy cut. The "snow hill" was created using Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders One dies (available in the Serendipity shop) and everything was layered with foam for dimension.

A little close up of the snowman/snowwoman and snow!!
