Happy Easter... WPlus9 MMB-- Thankful!!

Happy, Happy Easter! No big sheannigans around here... quiet day! It's been a busy week so, we took it easy for this holiday! Enjoyed it but, then again, I am so used to baking/cooking up a storm for the holidays... it feels kind of weird.. out of balance! My youngest had to work and as you can imagine it was a slow day so, Hubs and I went out to eat {she enjoyed the tip} for supper!

Squeaking in my card for the WPlus9 Monday Mood Board... I have been on a flower kick... that's a longing for spring... it's coming... every day another reminder!!

After I made this card and went back and looked at the mood board, I realized I totally went with the colors/little damask design on the snippet of fabric but, didn't do subtle... totally went bold with my colors!! The background was stamped with Damask Delight-- not perfect on purpose... like the subtle hint of pattern. Flowers, frame, and sentiment are from Hope Seed Co. Colored the flowers with copics and used my finger to pull up some edges for a little dimension.

The mood board... yes, I told the truth... took subtle colors and turned it into bold....

Wishing you had a wonderful Holiday WE... I "splurged" and took tomorrow off!! Just needed a little break!!

You can find all the goodies here.... just in case the Easter Bunny left you money or you have a hankering!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

with love...

Played with the Color Throwdown colors using the sketch at SCS and added some chevrons for the Chevron challenge at the Moxie Fab World.

Happy Mail at my house... the jar and flowers are from Clear and Simple Stamps. Well Preserved Jars medium {there are three sets small, medium, and large) and Well Preserved Jars Extras. The jar was die cut with the corresponding medium jar die. Waltzingmouse stamps Off Beat Backgrounds provided the chevrons on the background raspberry ripple panel. Normally when I think of chevrons what comes to mind is something more graphic but, you can see how they can be incorporated into a more "traditional" card. Stamped an image from Waltzingmouse stamps Text It onto the primrose petal layers. Added some seam binding. Love the little sentiment on the jar.

The colors...

Enjoying my WE... even took Monday off... thought I was going to need to work but, it was sooo quiet on Good Friday and I accomplished bunches at work!! Other good news for me... made an offer for my open position {I've been working two jobs} and the job was accepted so... will have some help....starts April 21 and will need to train but, ohhhh there is light at the end of the tunnel!!

Hope your Easter WE is full of love and laughter... we're on the quiet side here... sometimes that's a good thing, ya' know!!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

A Viva la Verve sketch...

Made this cards last WE for the one of the monthly Verve sketches... now, when I make cards they are all laid out and available to "tweak" a little... that's the way I stamp! Once in a while I make a card from start to finish in one sitting but, mostly not!! Are you able to sit down and do the whole "shebang" at one time? If you can/do, I am totally jealous!!

In love with the colors/papers and Verve's Remember This set. I am not a scrapbooker/Project Life person right now (have created 14 scrapbooks in the past and loved it!) so, this card shows how you can use the stamps on a card. Adore these colors- used Glitz Cashmere Dame. The banner uses papers from Cashmere Dame with Verve's Banner die.

The inside....

Verve sentiment from Thankful Hearts with only part of  the sentiment inked/stamped and using a few of the Cashmere Dame papers.

Here's the sketch...

Used the mirror image of Jen's sketch.

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

PS. Good News for Me!! We offered someone the job {I've been working two jobs recently- colleague resigned/moved} and she accepted. Starting 4/21- have to train but, there is light at the end of the tunnel!!

Color Throwdown with MFT Poppies!!

Adore the LJD Pretty Poppies... did when I first "set eyes" on them and finally had a chance to get inky. Used the colors from Color Throwdown {my green's a titch lighter though}.

Poppies were stamped with real red onto the coordinating die-namic. Leaves and stems were stamped with kiwi kiss. Added some crystal effects to the center of the poppies and popped them up with jody boosters for a little dimension. The crumbcake panel was stamped with a verse image {versamark} and then stamped the sentiment in black. Added a MFT die-namic border, twine, and button. Find your MFT here.

It is Well with My Soul- Verve Week 1

Diva Dare and Viva La Verve week 1.... having some fun stampin' while I have a chance. The Verve Diva Dare challenge this month is to make a card CASEing Laurie's style from Just Give Me Stamps and Moe from Buttons and Bling... well I  did Laurie's layering and use of embellishments along with Moe's notorious perfect bows and bling used the Verve week 1 sketch that Amber designed on the Verve forum at SCS.

Hoping you can see the "general sketch" in there... took a little artistic freedom with the second square panel...as I switched up the sketch to make an A2 size... otherwise on target!! This card made me happy... used Verve's Surely Goodness {shall follow me all the days of my life) sentiment and the outline on the butterflies is from So Fluttery- die cut with the Flutterby die. Couldn't resist adding leaves using Dream Big and the Dreamy Leaves die. Papers are Authentique Renew... fabulous!!

Distressed the edges in black for more definition and added some iridescent bling from Pizzazaplenty!!

Having a wonderful WE... busy as a bee washing/cleaning for company... my MOM and DAD are stopping by on their way back to IN and the crew here in NC are planning meals/time to visit while they're here!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

WPlus9 Monday Mood Board and Retro Sketch

Not much time to play this week...working longer hours...that's life... came home a little early today and had a chance to "create" a card that has been on my mind this week.

I combined the WPlus9 Monday Mood Board with the Retro sketch and came up with this...

Spring is on my mind... it's coming....really it's coming!!We've had such variations in the weather here--pretty sure everyone has {hubs lost a tomato plant last nite-he wasn't happy- wind blew the covering off} I am ready for spring flowers-planting veges, flip flops, boat rides on the lake....

Loved Dawn's mood board this week-- definitely fit my frame of mind. I played with Chantilly Lace, Scalloped border die and the Written On Ribbon stamp/die. Honestly, when I first saw the Written on Ribbon stamp/die I loved it but, I didn't know if I would really use it that much so I didn't purchase it right away... DANG...it is FUN!!

Dawn's board...

Here's the Retro Sketch I used for the layout...

You can find the WPlus9 stamps I used here. Browse... there will be something you LOVE, guarantee it!!

I'm so excited... my mom and dad are coming by Monday for a couple of days... on their way back from a Caribbean Cruise... Carnival...I've been watching the news all week worrying!! They haven't had a chance to do anything fun for a while and they are older {76 and 82} totally healthy but, you know I still worry-- drove from Indiana to Miami... visited family on the way down and visiting us on the way back.

WPlus 9 Monday Mood Board

Squeaking in a card for the WPlus9 MMB. It's full of bright colors and textures.

Added some canvas for the background and did a little stitching. The die is Label Layers 3 stamped with an image from Very Vintage Florals onto canvas. Background uses Woodgrain Additions and a small flower from Very Vintage Florals. Border was die cut with the scalloped border. Added a little seam binding bow.

Sentiment is from Hope Seed Co. and I heat embossed with clear... wanted it to stand out a "titch" more... interesting effect...if you click on the pick the heat embossing with clear gives little areas of darker color.

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

Join Us- For a Party- WMS Blog Waltz

Happy St. Patrick's Day!! Well, I swore last year that when the March blog party came around I would have one of Claire's fabulous Irish sets.... I forgot in all the frenzy of buying the recent releases {it has been fixed and is traveling the sea to me} so..... I had to get a little creative.

Yes, you are right... the mouse is drinking green beer!! Decided to make a little invitation card using Make Your Mark and Join Us.  Now I realize the mug of beer is a bit on the heavy side for the wee mouse but, I never said I was a graphic artist, LOL!! The adorable hat was made from a template at Creations by AR-- you've probably seen these on Julia's blog here-- that's where I got the idea.

The sentiment on the inside is an Irish toast that was computer generated. Added the flourish from Join Us and another wee mouse from Make Your Mark. Check out the blog waltz- if you don't have WMS stamps- Claire has a couple freebie images in her store and another on her blog- you have until tomorrow at 1pm to join in.

Hope you're having a wonderful St. Patty's Day... my daughter is working but, she said they have been having fun this WE dying the beer green!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!! Hoping to get a chance to pop around and see everyone's creations. Right now work is crazy- I'm working two jobs- my "partner in crime" resigned--- I do have 3 candidates so should be fixed soon!!

Celebrate!!- WPlus9 MMB

Long time no post!! Work is a little busy right now- I am a whole department of 2 but, geesh... I need that other person and she moved to IN. Position posted and have some folks interested so, hopefully the 200% productivity won't last too long!!

Managed to get a card done for the WPlus9 Make it Monday mood board.

I went with the square card and layout and flowers/leaves. Kept the bright feel of the mood board but, went in a different color direction. All of the flowers were die cut with the Very Vintage flowers and stamped with corresponding flowers.  The sentiments were stamped on the Written on Ribbon die and stamp set. Love it!! The blud background uses the square image from Chantilly lace that was stamped "hapahazardly"- yes, that was done on purpose- love the different feel it gives.

Here's the mood board...

Working on one more post for tonight!! Trying to get a little stamping done before I head out for a couple of days for work. Hope you've had a wonderful WE!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

Life is Good

Color Q meets Deconstructed Jen sketch and... Life is Good!! Jen's sketch has banners this week and I have to say I have a "weak" spot for banners. The Color Q colors are Midnight Muse, Brilliant Blue, Cool Carribean, Summer Starfruit, and White. I do not have a tendency to go with that many shades in the same color group but, I have to say... these are lovely together.

I played with some new Authentique papers "Summer"... love the colors and patterns. The banners were created with MFTs Flag Stax die-namics. Sentiment is a PJ from Verve. Added a couple wood butterflies from Studio Calico that I dabbed with Adirondack Snowcap.

The sketch...

The colors...

Hope you're having a great start to your week... me, I'm busy as ever at work... but, it will be okay!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

Wedding Day- WMS MIM

Squeaking in my WMS Make it Monday card. Have had it ready and my camera battery went dead and, my back up battery was not placed in the charger properly so it wasn't charged either {now I wonder who did that.... or how I managed to do that!}

This week the challenge was to pick a dress from the Academy Awards and make a card based on it. I went with Jennifer Lawrence's dress... whom several in the media stated looked like a wedding dress. So, wedding card it was.... and I made a white on white card with a splash of pink!!

The rose from WMS Roses in Bloom was stamped with versamark on white cardstock, heat embossed with white and watercolored with SU Blushing Bride. I stamped the same image again on vellum and heat embossed with white and adhered. The leaves were stamped with versamark and heat embossed with white. Used SB Romantic Rectangles for two layers. Embossed a white panel with a Quikkutz embossing folder and added some organza ribbon. I fussy cut my rose and leaves but, I believe that Clare has a SVG file to cut with a CAMEO and mine came yesterday... just not hooked up yet and will have to figure out how to work it but.... I am so excited....Clare has created files for several of her images... and I can't wait to use them!!!!!

The dress...

Had to revert the pic to original size since it was so distorted when I enlarged it!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Love when you do and appreciate all the kind words!!

Hope you had a great weekend and your Sunday is going well!!
