CTD261--For You!!

It's my "debut" picking colors "For You" and I chose some bright ones, big surprise!?!

Here's my card...

Playing with some new Waltzingmouse stamps Funky Flowers and a MFT MPD stencil Graduated Dots. First I stamped lines using WPlus9's Country Charm {in a haphazard way} and then laid the graduated dots stencil on top, sponging with pacific point and marina mist. Then I stamped several sizes of the flower and fussy cut out. Added some dimension using foam dots. The leaves were stamped with lucky limeade and pacific point. I used the "backside" of the leaf stamps too. Finally added the sentiment from Waltzingmouse stamps Big Day- Today.

SSBC#20- Watercolor!

Happy Wednesday!! Welcome to the new installment of the Serendipity stamp challenge. This time we are to watercolor. It's such a fun and easy technique but, one I forget about using quite often.

Here's my card....

I have had these feathers- Feather Background- in my stash for a while and have been wanting to play with them. Mary has some fabulous flowers but, I really wanted to see if I could watercolor these. I stamped the large background image in early espresso and heat embossed with clear.... the embossing makes the watercoloring easier... no bleeding. Then, I used my water brush to color the feathers in red/pink, greens. and yellows. Next, I over stamped the images with a Serendipity stamps Nature Gives sentiment on an angle. Layered some papers and added a little stitching.

I have this tendency to decorate the inside.... here it is

Thought the "In The Attitude " sentiment went well with feathers.

Hope you find time to join us, and...

The rules are simple... play along using at least one Serendipity Stamps image on your submission and link it below. You don't have to have a blog to play along - you can link your designs to any on line gallery.

Harvest Blessings!!

This is a card I started about a week ago and finished tonite!! Have had to go out of town for work... not the norm for me so, haven't had as much time to play.... when you get home there's laundry to do and cleaning out the fridge {my Sunday afternoon chore- boring I know}. This is for week 3 of the Viva la Verve sketches on SCS.

I used a bunch of fall Verve--Harvest Blessings, Autumn Splendor and the ever faithful Bountiful Backgrounds {versamark dots}. Stamped the sentiment on an angle for a little fall whimsy...kinda' like it... something different. Aren't those leaves gorgeous!! Used the colors from last week's Color Throwdown.

Here's the sketch....

CTD 260-- Absolutely!!

Happy Wednesday and thanks for stopping by to see the newest Color Throwdown colors. Tammy picked some gorgeous ones!

Now, I LOVE flowers and when I first saw the inspiration pic... that was absolutely the route I was going to take. Then, I looked in my basket of NBUS (never been used stuff) as Darnell would say and saw this die by Simon Says Stamps.... so I went a totally different direction.

I was thinking of a couple blogging friends while making this (Tammy who started a new job on Monday- whoo hoo and Jeanne who became a dirty girl on SCS- congrats!)

CTD 259- Abundant Blessings!!

Happy Wednesday again-- "full on" fall mood today!! Here's this weeks Color Throwdown colors!!

Fall is coming... we aren't quite there yet here in the South but, the mornings are darker and evening comes on quicker. They say this WE we'll be in the 70s (10 degrees cooler than normal). I pulled out Verve's Bountiful Harvest set and did some paper piecing. Use Ambers' week 1 Viva la Verve sketch. Papers are MME Indie Chic.

SSBC #19- Autumn!!

Happy Wednesday Morning!! I have finally given in to the fall thing!! Before we get down to business, I want to Welome Karen Amidon- our newest DT member!!! WELCOME KAREN!!

The next installment of the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog!! This time we're going for a Tri-Shutter card. Now, that may sound intimidating but, really it's quick and easy. Harder to photo than make, LOL!! Here's the link to a tutorial on SCS.

I decided to play with the new Pumpkins & Flowers stamp- stamped on crumbcake and colored with copics. Added some Maple and Oak leaves on four panels along with this fabulous sentiment- Autumn is a Second Spring.

Hope you find time to join us, and...

Teachers Count!!

"Kay my girls are grown up and I'm thinking I will donate this card to a friend down the street who has little ones. Had a little time to stamp this past Sunday and wanted to play with the current Curtain Call Inspiration challenge.

Hadn't inked up Verves Teachers Count or used Verve's Apple die set-- this was the perfect challenge. Also, used Julee's week 2 Viva la Verve sketch challenge. Straightforward card- those are granny smith apples instead of red delicious- was a teacher fav when my kids were younger!!

Blogger and/or my computer is giving me grief so... that's all folks!!

Happy Birthday Old Salt- WMS Pajama Party!!

I managed to do the final Waltzingmouse Pajama Party challenge.....

returned to work from a trip to Indiana and work has been crazy, crazy!! Appears I am going out of town next week for work which is a titch unplanned!! That seems to be life lately, LOL, unplanned things going on!!

The last challenge for the PJ party is a sketch...

Well..... I went a little different for this one!! Ocean Bound arrived at my house while I was gone (didn't order fast enough for all my US WMS fanatic friends-they bought it up from the US but, I just ordered from Clare and did the Royal Mail thing.)

The other thing that happened was that when I was home, my sis took me to this little stamp store (not even sure the town is on a US map) but, they had some Tim Holtz products I had on my wish list.... the riveted embossing folder and silver foil paper (think ships) and the sentiment (maybe a bit of a tarnished ship). Mona Pendleton has made some fabulous things with this stuff HERE and HERE.

Sooo...I combined the  "Happy Birthday old salt" sentiment and the gorgeous ship from Ocean Bound and made this....

Now, I have to use Ott lights and my camera is not fancy so the pic may not show the effect as well as Mona's but, I sure had fun!!  The sentiment and ship were stamped with Memento Tuxedo black and heat embossed with clear. I sponged the embossed silver foil with black stazon.

CTD258- Best Year Ever!!

Happy Wednesday-- time for the next installment of the Color Throwdown!! This week our colors are brought to us by the one and only Lynn Putt!!

I made a kinda' quick card today- just got back from a trip to Indiana and wasn't able to get this card done before I left. I hadn't played with my MFT stamps for a while or made these gorgeous hybrid roses so it was time!! The centers of the roses use kiwi kiss and sage shadow paper and the flourishes are old olive {hard to tell the difference between kiwi kiss and old olive but, they are different!!}
