Ladybug Hugs!!

Phew.... I'm Back!! Just in time for the last day of the Serendipty Blog Hop showcasing 3 new dies. Three new dies are being released... my amazing DT buddies have been showing them off for the past two days... me, I've been battling the equivalent of a "bad flu bug"... just with the computer : (

I am in LOVE with the new dies....

How fabulous is this Ladybug.... look closely at the embossed detail.... wonderful!! I went with the traditional Ladybug colors... couldn't help myself!!  The ladybug was die cut twice, once in black and then in a red polka dotted dp.

Well, I love to "do" the inside of my cards and stenciling is a big trend right now... so I was playing and it didn't work out for the inside so I ended up with another card... totally different from the first...

Created a stencil and sponged  with Riding Hood Red ink to get the outline of the ladybug... stamped the Serendipity sentiment over the top, added rhinestones, and some Heidi Swap gold mist. A little well, a LOT messy and different!! One layer card my friends!!

Colorthrowdown # 276- New York Minute!!

I played with some "new to me" stamps this week. They were NBUS (never been used schtuff) as Darnell would say. I created a little scene using PTIs City Scene, City Scene Sentiments, and coordinating dies. Fun stuff!

CTD #275- best wishes

Here we go again with another fabulous color combo. This week the colors are brought to us by Wanda. And they are fun!

I played a little with new to me WPlus9 set/s and die... More Fresh Cuts die, More Fresh Cuts and Fresh Cut Wreaths stamps. The background was embossed with swiss dots but, used the debossed side. Added an extra flower at the bottom of the heart but, thinking I should have let it be... ever do that?

Serendipity Stamps Challenge # 27

Good Morning! Time for the next installment of this month's Serendipity Stamps Challenge.

We're still playing with buttons!! This week the DT were challenged to do chalkboard and buttons. Thrilled chalkboard is still "in" as it is always a fun technique... love the white on black.  If you decide to play along, you only need to add button(s) to your creation long with using at least one Serendipity image!

I stamped this gorgeous baby gown... Serendipity Christening Gown cling set... with versamark onto black and heat embossed with white. Added some Basic Grey True Love papers... love these colors together. Added a bow and buttons, of course.

I also did up the inside...

What's in it?

Paper: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black (SU), PP True Love (Basic Grey)

Accessories: White embossing powder (SU), Ribbon (PTI), Buttons (stash)

Shiney-Smitten-Viva la Verve!!

Started working on the Verve Diva Dare- Smitten {makes me smile- LOVE this word} and the Viva la Verve sketch... in the back of my mind I needed to do something shiney!! Or... maybe I just wanted to!!

Played with some FAV Verve stamps... Wings of Love... and the matching dies.

Die cut several hearts using Verve's Wavy Hearts die and stamped with images from Wings of Love. The sentiment is from Take Note and was stamped on a tag from Flag It Die Set. Background paper was embossed with woodgrain.

 

AND... this is where I got confused... with the latest Verve Inspiration hop... there is a shiny challenge!!

 



SU glitter on the wings and a little bling too :-)

Gotta go... hubs is doing a simple dinner tonight...{I should help}.... last night went to a friends for oysters and shrimp!! Definitely a "low country" thing... steamed oysters...raw or grilled in the half shell with parmesan... boiled shrimp... hush puppies.... yum yum!!

CTD#274- This Too Shall Pass....

Hey- Happy Wednesday and... snow/deep freeze. We set a record cold here 7 degrees this am. Was telling my family last night I was jealous of the day off today {northern IN} and whining about the cold {have lived in NC a long time!}.... they called me a "WIMP"... where's the love?!?

 

How's that pic for a little warm weather dreaming!!

I did a scrappy card this week!!Added a little bit of this and that!! The sentiment is from  a "new to me" Kelly Purkey set 'I Like You" -loving the sentiments in this set... there is a perfect sentiment for my lil' sis in there- to be used at another time! Click on the pic for a larger-clearer version of the sentiment. The sketch is Cardabilities, added some Studio Calico wood pieces and then got carried away... spritzed with Heidi Swapp gold mist, added some sequins and a twine bow. Scrappy indeed :-)

Cheers to a New Year!

I'm finally getting back in the swing of things after all the hullabaloo of Christmas prep and the holidays. I hadn't made any cards in so long {at least it seems that way} so I'm slowly working on getting my MOJO back.

Here's another CAS card for the Freshly Made Sketch using the Color Q colors!!



Kept true to the sketch and colors.... sometimes when you haven't stamped in a long time... it's good to have structure. The banners were die cut with MFT Flag Stax- the gray banners were stamped with images from MFT MPD Distressed back grounds using a glue pad and then sprinkled with glitter. To make the white diamond banner I used MFT MPD Graduated Diamonds stencil and sprayed with Heidi Swapp gold mist. Adding some stitching and a sentiment from a retired MFT set that had never been inked.

Color Throwdown #273-New Colors and....News!!

We're back!!. I enjoyed my time with family and friends but... ready to start the New Year and have a little time to stamp! Here are the colors Tammy picked.... LOVE them... thinking I will need to play with these again!

 

Today's colors were inspired by this sweet baby blanket that's just full of trendy stuff... the gingham, the chevrons, the color palette, so get inspired and start creating!
 

Played with new WPlus9 stamps/dies.... Valentine Wishes and More Fresh Cuts! Did a bunch of tone on tone stamping with grays and added a pop of color with the flower. The background is SU's smoky slate... just love this gray. Don't you just adore that sentiment!! I went CAS on this one... haven't stamped/played in two weeks so.... just trying to get back in the groove.

And the NEWS... a NEW TEAM MEMBER!  The very talented and sweet Monika Davis (some of you may know her as "Buzsy"!) is joining the Color Throwdown team, so be sure to check out her fabulous creation and stop by her blog with a welcome comment!  We're very happy to have her join the team.

SSCB #27 - Buttons!!

Happy New Year!! I am glad the holidays are over, don't get me wrong.... I had a wonderful time with family and friends!! It's just nice to start getting back into a normal routine....ya' know some time for stamping :-)

This time around the challenge is to use buttons. The DT were given an "extra" challenge to create a Get Well or Encouragement card.

Mary at Serendipity stamps has some of the most fabulous sentiments!! I chose to use an Emily Dickinson quote.
