Love Bird Tree- Diva Dare

This month Verve's Diva Dare is to make something homemade.... can be a card, ornament, banner.... whatever your heart desires!! Well, prior to Verve's last release I had this idea based upon a crepe paper tree I saw in my latest issue of PaperCrafts magazine. Believe the idea may have been better (in my mind!!) than the results.... ever have one of those days?? I never had time to make it as company for the wedding came a little early (planned on Thursday and we had family here on Tuesday and more on Wednesday)!! Now, don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing everyone...just thought I had a couple extra stamping days!!

Had a heck of a time getting a pic!! The styrofoam tree was covered in blue crepe paper using sticky tape to pleat and adhere in layers, starting at the bottom. Added a star cut out with a nestabilitie and covered in silver glass glitter. Stamped the Love Birds from Verve's Bright Spirits with versamark and heat embossed with silver, colored with copics, and cut out using Verve's Love Birds die. Added a cream bow.

Awfully glad to have the wedding and most of renovations done, back to a little stampin, FINALLY!! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving (if you live in the states) and a great weekend!!

Thanks for stopping by and appreciate all the kind words.

Glad you finally have some stamping time, Vickie :) Crepe paper tree is great. Fun color combo and the birds are adorable.

Wow, Vickie, aren't you the creative one?! Love the blue/silver tree...just too cute! Had to clarify, I wasn't exactly least not in a big box store... on Black Friday; went to the huge Lehman's Hardware store in Kidron , OH with family - great place to explore! Plus, I visited Toyrifix (stamp store in one to see Tammy Hershberger while there, plus spent too much money for more stamping toys - lol). Hope you had a relaxing T-giving after the big wedding!
